Chi Thai - Columbus, OH (3 out of 5) 5577 N Hamilton Rd, Columbus, OH 43230 (614) 471-8988 chithairestaurant.com First visit -- and I'd come back. I ordered the Singapore Noodles with shrimp and pork, and I was pleasantly surprised. The curry flavor was mellow but flavorful, the shrimp portion was generous, and the thin-sliced pork added just enough richness. Veggies had a good bite -- not overcooked -- which gave the dish nice contrast. This was one of those meals that made me glad I tried something new. I'd order it again -- and I'm even curious to try this same dish elsewhere now just to compare. Didn't personally try the appetizers, but the table had the crab Rangoon and spring rolls. I heard: "not bad, not memorable." That said -- they did show up hot (even the plate), which is always a good sign. The sweet & sour sauce wasn't a hit -- too sweet, and we've had better elsewhere. The vibe is calm, clean, and casual -- white tablecloths, warm lighting, and a fully stocked bar. They've also got a wall of awards and team plaques near the entrance that shows they've been part of the community for a while. Parking was easy Dine-in and carryout available I don't believe they have social media, but you can find their full menu online (it's possible I may be wrong) Helpful tip: If you're not sure what to order, the Singapore Noodles are a safe bet.

This review is for their takeout, which was really excellent quality. I ordered some of their more standard Chinese dishes (though the menu is extensive and features a variety of Asian recipes from various countries and regions): I went for the crispy, orange chicken, beef lo mein, and crab Rangoon. Portions were great: substantial and perfect for sharing and having leftovers. Prices were also totally reasonable. The quality was pretty outstanding for takeout: generally well seasoned and flavored (the crispy chicken was especially good with its citrusy sauce), not at all greasy like some takeout. I can't wait to order from here again.

We tried this restaurant for the very first time on a recommendation from a friend. I started with the wonton soup and it was very flavorful. My husband had the Tom Yum soup which he enjoyed. I am always in pursuit of chicken satay so that is what I ordered. The cucumber relish was amazing! The peanut butter sauce had a bit of heat but was very good. The chicken was listed on the menu as grilled but I didn't see any grilled marks on it at all. I would almost guess that it was deep fried although I am not certain. My husband enjoyed his Spicy Happy Family dish and the lunch sized portion was perfect. The restaurant was very clean. The waitress was attentive to our needs. I would definitely come back.

I love this place! We've eaten here three times over the course of a few years, and most recently, just last month. The service is awlays great and the food is well-prepared and very tasty! I love that they have unique vegetarian options with tofu subbed in for meat. We will return again soon!

First time visitors and we loved it! Always on the lookout for a good Thai spot. Like several other reviews said, restaurant is very nice on the inside. We ordered the shrimp as an app and loved them, they were good sized and served very hot. For dinner, had the Thai Basil Chicken. Generous portion with plenty of meat, great if you want leftovers. The menu is pretty extensive, lots to choose from and so we will be coming back very soon.

We recently visited abd decided to have another go at it. My husband is not a big fan of chinese food but he really enjoyed their General Tsos, so it was a no brainer that we go again! We made reservations for 8 at 5pm in Saturday, they werent too busy afterall. The food did not disappoint. Everything was fresh and hot. The pork dumplings were very good and I tried the chicken and broccoli this time. A little heavy on the soy but good flavor overall. Everyone enjoyed their meal. A little pricey but worth it for quality food. It's a nice, quiet atmosphere, dim lighting and clean. We wil definitely visit again to try more dishes.

I liked the food! It was really good and hope to dine here again someday. There was plenty of parking, and the inside was nicely decorated, clean, and inviting. My partner and I joined a group of friends and acquaintances for dinner and this was such a nice choice. We sat in the back and were part of a group of 17 or so. Our group was so large that we had two servers which I think was an awesome decision on the restaurants in terms or ordering and managing checks. I do have to say that the service was not comparable from one end of the table to the other. For the lower end (my side) slow on refills, waiting to place the order, being attended too and not being checked in with how the meal was going or if it was ok, and getting the check were some of the issues. We seriously waited while one end had wrapped up, had boxes to go, and closed out their check and we were still waiting. We hardly saw our server but they did good and it the dinner rush got busy so going to cut the guy some slack. Every other aspect was perfect. We started off with the Thai Dumplings ($9.95) and a Crispy Spring Egg Roll ($2.25) with some diet cokes ($2.50). The dumplings were delicious and so was the egg roll. We had to share sauces for the egg roll but it was ok we share well and it was great company. For Dinner - my partner got the Chi Thai Combination with brown rice ($17.95). That dish consisted of beef, chicken, jumbo shrimp, mushrooms, carrots, baby corn, snow peas in a rich brown sauce. I went with the General Tso Chicken with fried rice ($17.95). The General Tso's had the deep-fried chicken glazed in a sauce with dried hot peppers. All the sauces tasted slightly different, richer in flavor, than what I am used to but was so good and going with saying it was more of an homemade flare. Summary: Pro's - the food and variety of options, and plenty of parking Con's - our server, and carbonation/syrup off on the drinks Website: https://www.chithairestaurant.com/ Would absolutely recommend and we had a large group so imagine the service would not be an issue.

Ambiance: Very pleasant, upscale casual Prices: Moderate / Typical Value: Good portions of great quality food Service: Variable So, the Dinner Meet-up Group met here for dinner, and we had a good time. We had a larger party of about 17 of us, and there were two servers assigned to us. The service was fast and efficient on one end, but the other end experienced the opposite with problems getting their food, poor beverage service and plate clearing. Everyone agreed, though the food here was excellent, being flavorful and of a very high quality. Now, I had been craving Mu Shu for months and finally got to try some of the best Cbus has to offer. I also got their Hot and Sour Soup, which was rich and hearty. As far as everyone else? Everyone got something different, and I heard nothing but praise from our group about all their various dinners. There was a very nice touch that I have to mention... The owner came by after dinner to make sure everyone was happy and to give the kids in our group a really unique toy to take home. So very thoughtful of her! We will be back again. 4 stars. And A Little More: Hey everyone. It's always great to see the "old gang" and to get caught up on things. I'm also happy that we are welcoming some new faces, as well. It's a really nice mix of people with a lot of positive energy going around. See you all at the next dinner!

OMG. Stopped in for dinner with a group of about 20 people and had a wonderful experience. We all sat at one long table. The staff took the time to greet us and then took our drink order. Some of us ordered beer while others ordered a bottle of wine from a nice wine list, cocktail, and sodas. Staff also ensured we had plenty of water throughout dinner. Believe it or not, we all received our meals at the same time. The food was hot for all of us and delicious. We all ordered different things and each of us enjoyed our meals. (There are also a lunch and dinners menus. The lunch price is slightly lower and service is till 3PM.) All I can say about staff and the service is...WOW. They were spot on and very pleasant. They made sure each of us had everything we needed throughout our visit. Staff even gave the kids at our table a toy after dinner service that they loved. On our way out, the owner even stopped us to make sure we were happy. I will definitely be back in the future and look forward to my visit.

Update. Went last time with a big Yelp group and it was excellent. Tonights dinner for two was just as good. My dinner's shrimp n asparagus' shrimp was a tad bit over cooked but still very good. Service was excellent.

Great Thai food, they also have Chinese classics. The Thai lemongrass salad was so flavorful and yummy. The peanut chicken was so flavorful too. The restaurant is beautiful and has a nice atmosphere, quiet diners and families. The service is kind and fast. I look forward to trying more Thai food here. They have a nice bar too

Not even any chairs at the counter inside. Oh, well, I'll take it home. Friendly service. The usual hibachi menu. I went with steak/shrimp/chicken. Got home and there was the standard massive portion, mostly rice, but still a lot of meat. The rice was very good, and probably very unhealthy. The steak was cooked a bit past the requested medium, but still tender, and tasty. The chicken and shrimp were also slightly overcooked, but again, still good. Very small portion of veggies, just cabbage and carrots. Pretty darn good, but I had hoped for sprouts and next time will pay extra for them and a bit more veggies, because I have to at least pretend to eat healthy. Prices feel a little high but are appropriate for this kind of food, with this quantity and quality. Spring for some more veggies, even at $1 per. Took a few minutes to make so order ahead if you are in a hurry, but really it was probably about 10 minutes so not bad. I'll be back.

I love the concept of meatless Monday bowls being $2-$4 less than the average bowl. This will make me want to visit more often on Mondays. However, with some of their new offerings in general, I think I would like to frequent more often. Some of these include these curry chickpeas, which were delicious, the citrus kale, brussels sprouts, some Korean fried chicken that does not seem to be available most of the time , the yellow rice, which was really nice and soft, the salmon, fried eggs, and I'm sure I'm still missing one or two. I'm always a fan of how you can get some free miso soup with every visit, but this time I could not find a single piece of tofu. This store is always nice and clean and you get speedy service. On this visit, I had a free cookie on the app and I will say for not being a sweets person, their chocolate chip cookie was pretty yummy. Everything there is gluten-free, even though that is not a dietary restriction that I have, but it's nice to know that people can eat there without worries ofcross contamination. I've heard people complain that this is not real Korean food, but anybody who goes here and expects it to be, doesn't know the first thing about finding quality ethnic food in Columbus... You are not going to BIBIBOP for that, you are going there for quality, healthy food that you can adjust your liking, Chipotle style.

Of course I'm going for the Chinese version, I ordered the 3 cups chicken, this is actually a very popular dish in the Asian countries, easy to make too. The portion is big, I ate 2 bowls of white rice, is good, I give it 6 out of 10 Even tho this is the Chinese, Chinese dish, but it was too sweet, the cook put too much sugar in it, also the chicken don't have bones in it, in my opinion is still making it as Chinese dish but American way, I guess American don't like Chicken with bones in it? And my review is partly skewed toward that crab Rangoon, though I had a really good experience all in all. In a strip out front of Meijer, easy access and parking. Opens at 11 but they were open a bit before that today, which was nice. Super friendly and efficient service the whole way through. Dark inside but not gloomy; cozy. Lots on the menu, and I had a hard time deciding. Went with the Rangoon, of course, and a lunch special: 3 sushi rolls. That comes with soup or salad, and I had the miso soup, pretty darn good and with more tofu and seaweed than most. The crab Rangoon came out next and: oh my. Perfectly wrapped little packages of goodness. Beautifully plated, nicely made, and filled with cheese and a good amount of crab. Tasty, nice texture contrast between the filling and the thin crunchy shell, and served with a slightly-spicy homemade (I am guessing) sauce. Then the sushi trio. Again beautifully plated. I got eel and avocado, spicy tuna, and kani. The kani was my favorite, then the eel, then tuna. Best sushi around? Nah. But pretty good, and a really good deal. Fair sized rolls. Nicely made. The eel was tender and flavorful. The kani was good. Spicy tuna was just okay. I'll be back, for Rangoon and probably entrees. Out of my way, but glad I came today. Enjoyed the whole visit.

I was pleased with Mark K and my first visit. It's in a small strip mall, but It's a lot nicer than what you would normally expect to find.. Mark got: Southern Style Egg Rolls - Very Tex-Mex. Good, filling, and not too spicy. Beef Pad Thai - Decent, but not mind-blowing. Could use more scrambled eggs and bean sprouts. I got: Hot And Sour Soup - Quite good with a nice smokey flavor. General Tso's Chicken - It's as good as it gets, folks, meaning it's a rival to my favorite at China Bell in Grove City. The sauce is excellent! The chunks of white chicken meat are just lightly breaded enough to hold the sauce but not overpower the dish. I'd say it's a 95% chicken to 5% breading ratio. And they still serve it with broccoli. Outstanding! I'd go back again to do some more exploring in a heartbeat. Like I said, 5 stars.
