Came here for the first time, and the lomo saltado was incredible. Everything was delicious, and the portions were generous--I couldn't even finish it in one sitting and had to take the rest home. The lady who served me was very kind, attentive, and made me feel like I was back home. I'll definitely be coming back with my family. I'm excited to try more of the menu, but the lomo saltado definitely did not disappoint. The aji de polleria was excellent too. Highly recommend

Great food, service and ambiance! Please support our local restaurants to help small businesses in our community thrive. We will definitely come back and looking forward to try everything in their menu :-)

Excellent Peruvian food - the flavor, the texture, overall amazing food!! Good portion relative to the price. Cannot comment much on the service/ambiance since I had a to-go order. Judging solely on flavor and overall quality: 9/10 and will definitely will be back for more. Honestly made me wanna take a trip to Peru. I got the papa a la huancaina and ceviche mixto.

OK, so since we really enjoyed the flavors and the food selection, the first time, we came back and brought moms and pops. Both Juanita & Claudia were there and are so professional and friendly. We ordered Loma saltado, tallarines verdes con bistec (w/steak), tallarines saltados w/steak, ceviche mixto, pescado frito, arroz con mariscos and pork tomale . Every plate was absolutely full of flavors and delicious. The ceviche was even better than the first time I tried it. The tamale was tender, full of meat, and I love the flavor of the MASA. The fish and chips was absolutely delicious (pescad frito) one of the best dishes of the night so tasty very light but crunchy yet the fish was Seabass and it was absolutely delicious, light, fluffy yet crispy and full of flavor. We will definitely be back and try other entrées on the menu so far everything is absolutely delicious that we have tried .

Huanchaco - Brentwood's New Peruvian Gem! Location: Food Quality: Value: I'm so thrilled to be one of the first to review Huanchaco, which just opened its doors in Brentwood! If you're searching for truly authentic, high-quality Peruvian cuisine that tastes genuinely homemade, look no further. My wife and I tried a few Peruvian classics, and every single dish was exceptional: Ceviche Mixto (The Seafood Starter) What a vibrant and refreshing dish! The Ceviche Mixto was bursting with flavor and perfectly balanced. The fish were tender, and the leche de tigre--that zesty, citrusy marinade--was spot-on: bright, tangy, and full of depth. The sides of sweet potato (camote) and giant corn kernels (choclo) were the perfect complement, softening the spice and adding a touch of natural sweetness. It was like tasting the Peruvian coast in one bite. Beef and Chicken Empanadas (The Perfect Appetizer) Do not skip the empanadas! We tried both the beef and chicken versions, and they were phenomenal. The pastry was golden and flaky--clearly made with care--and the fillings were flavorful, juicy, and generously packed. The creamy aji amarillo dipping sauce brought a subtle heat that tied everything together beautifully. These are the kind of empanadas that make you wish you'd ordered extra to take home. Huanchaco is more than just a restaurant--it's an experience of authentic, heartfelt Peruvian cooking. The attention to detail, the quality ingredients, and the love poured into each dish truly shine through. If you're in the Brentwood area (or even if you're not!), do yourself a favor and check this place out. Support this incredible new local spot--you absolutely won't be disappointed!

I'm so excited to see Peruvian food finally in Brentwood! This spot is a bit hidden since it's located inside another restaurant--I got a little lost trying to find it at first, so don't be surprised if you do too! But once you're there, it's absolutely worth it. I tried their Ceviche, and it was so good--fresh, flavorful, and authentic. It truly reminded me of the classic Peruvian flavors I love. I'm so happy to have this kind of food right here in town, and I really hope this business thrives. Highly recommend checking it out if you're craving something delicious and different in Brentwood.

    Arroz Chaufa de Pollo

We finally made it out to try the new Peruvian restaurant in Brentwood! This restaurant shares a location with Sticky Chicken. The vibrant colors on the tablecloths and decor are the first things that caught my eye. The staff is friendly and polite. It has a family environment & small business feel- very authentic experience, unique from chain restaurants. I thought the food was tasty! (My family is personally spoiled with authentic Peruvian food often from a talented cook, so our opinion can be biased.) You can tell that the food in this restaurant is made with love. Everything that I tasted here was good! The chicha morada drink was very good; the arroz chaufa was plentiful and filled with flavor. The alfajores dessert was just the right amount of sweetness for me to punctuate the meal. The amount of food you get is good, but the price per dish would prevent us from coming regularly... it's more of a fine dining experience than a grab-and-go midweek type of thing. We do enjoy this type of cuisine! I'm to see this being offered in Brentwood.

    Jalea de marisco delicious

I've been living in California for 25 years, and during all this time I've tried many restaurants -- but very few have made me feel truly connected to my roots the way Hunchaco did. From the moment I walked in, I could feel that warm, familiar atmosphere and smell the aromas that instantly brought me back to Peru. I ordered the fried fish jalea and the lomo saltado, two traditional dishes that represent the heart of Peruvian cuisine. The jalea was absolutely perfect -- the fish was fresh, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, seasoned just right, and served with a bright criolla salsa that added the perfect kick. The lomo saltado was simply outstanding: tender beef, golden fries cooked to perfection, and that signature mix of soy sauce, onions, and tomatoes that only a true Peruvian chef can balance so beautifully. What really impressed me was that everything tasted fresh, healthy, and made with care. You can tell that every dish is prepared with love and respect for authentic Peruvian flavors. The service was also excellent -- friendly, attentive, and with a smile that made me feel at home. After so many years away from Peru, I can honestly say that Hunchaco brought back the joy and pride of my culture. It's a place where you don't just eat -- you experience Peru again, one bite at a time. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good food and wants to discover the true flavors of Peru without having to travel thousands of miles.

Side fixins with that aji amarillo sauce! Delicious

Great little hidden gem! There aren't too many Peruvian places in the Brentwood area and this spot can easily be missed so hopefully they expand because we quite enjoyed their food! Made fresh with great flavors and portions. Their yellow sauce is sooo good with just the right amount of heat. We had the lomo Saltado, ceviche de Pescado, a beef empanada, and their chicha drink. Everything was delicious but my favorite has to be the empanada. It was nice and moist, great flavor, and paired perfectly with the aji amarillo sauce and a squeeze of lime. The ceviche was refreshing and was large portion - the fish was marinated perfectly with zero fishiness. The Lomo Saltado was so savory and tender as well! Would definitely go again.

    Lomo saltado!

The atmosphere was about middle ground, neither high end, but also not dingy or garish. In terms of service, everyone was friendly, willing to clear up confusions, and patient. -ORDER: 6PC TENDER COMBO; HONEY & SWEET BBQ- STRENGTHS *Both sauces, including their own honey lemon, and a more conventional BBQ were high quality. The honey lemon was unique, as it left the wings a bit dryer than a traditional sauce *The slaw was good. Not unique, but still executed well, being flavorful, cold, and fresh. *Their in-house mango passionfruit drink was unique, and rather good. It was a good refresher to cleanse my pallet in between bites. POTENTIAL POINTS OF IMPROVEMENT *The carrots and celery were... pathetic. The slices were equally thinner and shorter than my index finger. *The tenders beneath the sauce tasted like pre made tenders, as they tasted very similar to many other tenders I've had at various restaurants Conclusion: Wing bros in Antioch was a flavorful, above average quality experience with decent value for what you get. Was a little disappointed that our seafood boil did not have the sausages, I literally kept checking the bag until I finally dumped it on the table and still no sausages. The boil was a little on the salty side. But over all it was still a good boil. The ambiance is cool it's got that sports bar vibe going on but it's kid friendly. Unfortunately, the bar and the kitchen just didn't deliver. For food, the corn elote lacked balance, and the scallops--which arrived swimming in a soup instead of a puree--tasted noticeably off. The chicken parm was entirely forgettable. With these kinds of texture and flavor issues, there's just no attention to detail in the kitchen. Even with great service, we won't be returning.

Our server, Beto, was exceptional. Friendly, genuine, attentive, personable, and welcoming, he made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. As parents of young children, we especially appreciated how quickly everything came out without sacrificing quality. The food was outstanding. I ordered the Laconda salad with salmon (on the side), which was incredibly fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. The special house made gnocchi with various cheeses was fresh and delightful. The Brussels sprouts were super tasty and the salad was refreshing after we'd been in the sun so long. I had kinda high expectations for the pizza because there are signs all over on how it's the 5th best pizza in the world(?), but maybe those signs were more so regarding the margherita pizza(?). I typically love pizza with pesto in it--this one had yellow tomatoes + burrata as well, which were both wins in my book, but it was unfortunately way, way too oily for my taste.
