Stephen (Steven?) was GREAT, as was the phone dispatch! I reached out to Chicago Locksmiths forEVER ago. They called me back & left a voicemail on May 1st. I *finally* called back today & they still had my request on record! I was all set to make an appointment but they were able to send Stephen out pretty much right away: I called at 11:38am & had my spare key at 12:45pm. Stephen was also thorough enough to explain that I did have another, more expensive option but that the more affordable key would do everything except remote entry & is good for valet [and I would add, mechanic, purposes.] He also allayed my concern about potentially needing to replace the remote fob in the future. Really great service! I mentioned that I found them on here and got the 10% discount, though I realized afterward that I'd forgotten that they also have a student discount (see their website). And they stand behind and warranty their service. They installed a front gate lock back in May. I'm quite happy with the work done. The lock on the front gate of my apartment building broke and you couldn't open it from inside or outside. One locksmith said that the entire mechanism would have to be replaced and that it would require welding; another locksmith said that he couldn't help because that type of lock doesn't belong on a gate. A Chicago Locksmiths employee came out locked at the lock, correctly guessed that only the latch mechanism was broken and then replaced it with a spare one he had in his truck--all in under 15 minutes and for a fraction of the price. read more

And is better to pay more for a trustworthy locksmith than a low rate, unlicensed locksmith. They were nice and professional.
