I recently purchased a blank key from The Key Armory and I was looking forward to upgrading my home key. I had originally taken the key blank to a hardware store and the key wasn't quite right, it turned in the lock but it was tight and I worried about breaking off in my door. Fast forward a few days and I have a new blank and I decide I should stop into a locksmith, like I should have in the first place. My visit to Chicago Locksmiths was great and Sherri was so awesome! Best service. Highly recommend. Called in at 10 am regarding key extraction (my key broke in half, half got stuck in my condo mailbox, really nicely jammed all the way in there). Very pleasant lady on the phone took my info down, said a tech will call me in a few. The tech guy called not twenty minutes later that he will be there in 45 minutes. Showed up within the time frame, got to work quickly and got the broken piece out, sprayed the lock with something at the end and I saved myself a considerable headache not dealing with the condo association. Contacted Chicago Locksmith when my key fob for my car was lost after hours. Phone was answer by a person who then check with the tech to make sure that he had a spare fob. Ben called back promptly to let me know he and that he would contact me when he was on his way. He was currently at another job. When Ben finished he called saying he was about 20 minutes away and would call when he was by my garage door. 20 minutes later he was there and within 10-15 minutes I had a new fob plus a spare. I contacted Chicago Locksmiths via Yelp to receive a quotation on rekeying 4 doors to a master key for a recently purchased house. They were wonderful, responded to my request within a hour, provided a detailed estimate with Yelp discount. The next day Shawn their specialist called me to let me know he was enroute to my house within 30 minutes of the appointment window. Shawn went right to work and did a wonderful job! The previous owner of the house had lost keys to all but two of the doors, no problem for Shawn who was able to pick the locks for rekeying!! Worst locksmith service I have EVER had. Had someone come out to unlock my car and give me a new key. After spending $220 I was given a key that does not unlock or lock any doors besides the driver side. After having to deal with the panic alarm and manually locking each door every time I finally decide to call them back because I knew it was not right. I was told the first time that it was right and I would need to pay additional money for it to lock the doors. I asked why I was never told this when I initially got the key and he had no answer for me. After talking with others, once again I knew this was not right. I call back and the customer service was rude and not even apologetic. He was constantly cutting me off and throwing me on hold while I was in the middle of talking. After re-explaining my story again the customer service finally decided the set up was most likely wrong and that I would be responsible for coming out to their shop (over an hour away) for it to be "most likely fixed". He couldn't even give me a solid answer that they would help fix the issue they caused and even said "hopefully we won't have to charge you anymore". I am beyond frustrated with this situation as there are so many other locksmiths in Chicago and clearly I just picked the wrong one. Don't waste your time here. read more

Absolutely amazing service! The workers are very nice and they can duplicate many different types of keys. They even allow you to text them a picture of your keys and they will let you know whether or not they can duplicate them. I've never seen any locksmith provide that.
