Amazing work, so helpful. Everything we need is there and fix my daughter's clarinet.

The actual color code of the $20 a set daddario XS strings that I gave them to put on. F****** thieves!

Worst music store on Earth. I paid $100 to have my brand new setup from the factory Epiphone masterbuilt set up for the strings that I like to use. All that really needed to be done was filing the nut for the gauge of string that I like and the rest didn't need to be touched at all. Instead of this basic stuff these incompetent assholes did not touch the setup of this guitar at all. I took it to the experts at the Guitar Center and they confirmed that no setup had been done on it. They also confirmed that the strings, the $20 strings that I had paid to have put on we're not put on and we're in fact the cheapest strings that came from the factory. So mark stole $120 of my money and in return I got a guitar back that I could not play. I will never if it's the last f****** music store open on Earth will I ever spend another dime at the s***** s***** Chicago music store. They can go straight to hell. How I really feel about test photos and videos that's cool because I have pictures

The manager is very manipulative, We went to an event and spoke badly of other vendors, He lacks a lot of professional ethics.

    Do they buy used guitars?

They don't take consignment instruments to sell.

I visited the Chicago Store to purchase items for my niece who is learning the violin and items for myself as I am learning the banjo.

I've been a longtime customer of Rainbow, but my career as an ER nurse had kept me insanely busy over the course of the pandemic. Even after it was over, I was so burned out emotionally, I just couldn't even reach for my guitar. So today, ironically, something just told me, it was time. I called and spoke briefly to Stefin and said that I was looking forward to seeing everyone again, including my old buddy Scott Riedle. Once I arrived, Stefin told me the terrible news of Scott's passing. It really hit me cause I had come to know Scott as someone I would regard as a friend. I feel so bad cause I was so caught up in the pandemic and all it's horrors I never even knew Scott was ill. We chatted about him, of course and then explored my next purchase. It was, despite learning of Scott's passing a delightful experience as always and I look forward to seeing Stefin and the others again very soon. Once I got home I looked up Scott's information and I come to realize that he passed away a year ago. Who knows, maybe Scott was giving me a kick in the butt from the other side, saying "come on man, start playing again!" Regardless, that's how I'm going to interpret this coincidence. I'll be getting a new guitar from your friends soon Scott, and I'll be thinking about you when I play., Miss ya buddy!

I purchased the same Guitar at Levin's Washington Music Center in Bethesda, Maryland where I was given the price that I wanted to pay for the Guitar. I figured I would take it to a local business to have it it re-strung and looked over. I waited all week to go at a time outside of my work hours because their hours are very limited. I walked in holding the guitar and the first thing that was said to me when I walked in was "we're not doing anymore repairs today". The gentleman then asked me what was wrong with it and I explained that I didn't know what and wanted it looked at. He offered to write up a value on it to let me know how much it could be worth, and I explained to him that my intention was to play this guitar and that would really only be helpful to know to compare to the cost of repair. He did show me a few guitars they had in house at what seemed like a decent price. But instructed me to come back when the repairman was in, which could be anytime because even though he had hours, he is a gig worker and sometimes has to leave. It largely felt like he was more interested in selling me something versus addressing the concerns I currently had. Can't blame him in this economy, I suppose. He was kind and it is a cool shop, just didn't seem like it was what I needed based on my situation. This place has a very small town, small store feel - if you're looking for a wide variety of instruments and/or consistent hours, this might not be the right choice for you either.

Great place to find out what is happening musically in town and buy tickets to shows.read more
