Robert is an excellent plumber with tons of experience that he brings to bear on projects. He is an expert at diagnosing tricky problems and diligently sees them through to completion, even when there are unexpected complications like a broken plumbing part. I'd highly recommend him for tricky issues with your plumbing because he will get to the bottom of the issue and work on it until it's fully solved. My family had done business with Lincoln since 1976 when my mom owned our building. But for the past few years, the experience we once had with them has gone downhill a lot. some examples are: when making a call for service they do not answer, when leaving a message for a call back they don't call back. Several times appointments were schedule and they did not show up. This last experience was the worst. They did not check the flood control, they did not check the inside catch based where the initial problem was occurring for us. The person they sent only cleaned the outside catch based in the front yard. And only did it once. They charged $210 for this. I ended up having to use another sewer service who did exactly everything Lincoln should of done. They have lost a long time customer. read more

Had a flooded basement. Robert (Rob) came out on short order and cleaned out our catch-basin, rodded toward the street. Hit an obstruction (tree roots) short of the street, explained the issue, showed us video. Installed a rod-out station in the front yard, from where he was able to go through the tree roots and get all the way to the sewer in the street. He also installed an back-flow prevention valve to keep water from coming back from overloaded city sewers. He explained we'd need to divert our downspouts so drainage water would fill up behind the backflow prevention device... Long story short: he was timely, professional, cordial and answered all our questions and more. The price was reasonable (not the cheapest, but definitely not the most expensive (beware the low bidder!). Last week when areas of the city saw up to 9" of rain and many people had flooding, including neighbors, we had none. We highly recommend Lincoln, and Rob is the best! read more

I asked Lincoln Sewer to come take a look at my sump pump room because there was a real problem with drain flies. They sent out two guys who came in and used a camera to check my main line but did NOTHING else and charged me $150 for it. I kept asking about the flies but they had no idea what to do and obviously were told to just camera the drain line. I have no problems with my main drain line and assumed they would actually open the sump and injector pump basins to see if there was a problem there or any of the other drains in the room. When I complained through yelp messaging I was told I would get a call from someone but no one has reached out in two weeks. read more

Problems with sewage not leaving your house in a prompt manner must be right up there on the scary problems list. I had our sewer line hydro-jetted by a company that said they would also need to dig up the front yard to replace the main line. After the shock of their quote to do that wore off I called them to ask them to explain what I was getting for my money. But they never called me back. I found Lincoln on yelp. Janet on the phone was calm and reassuring and promised a call back. And they did call me back! Robert was out the next day to give me a quote and explained what needed to be done. So we got it all squared away the next day on a cold, snowy Saturday in December. They treated us with respect, valued our time, told us what they were going to do, did it and - bonus - only charged a partial arm, not an arm and a leg. read more

Janet (answering service) said via Yelp that Robert would call. He did (at length, he's overly chatty). Service call: $125. He uses Zoeller. Hired. Said HE'D see me between 9:30-9:45 Monday, except two men showed up instead. Guys (never introduced themselves) said unit required a 2" pipe; they'd brought a 1 1/2" M95 unit I requested (not a big deal, water can eject out of 1 1/2" pipe equally well, just add a 2" to 1 1/2" coupler). But Robert said via cell they got the wrong pump. He said I needed an M267; I took him at his word. I asked guys if they were going to drill a weep hole (due diligence!). They asked ME for a drill! (Also I'd drill the PVC pipe before attaching it to the pump but that's just me.) After installation, I asked for the box, which said WASTE MATE but we only pump rain water. Later, when pump went off, it banged so loud, our dog barked (I thought UPS threw a boxed brick against our house). After a record length phone discussion complete with yelling and cursing on his part, Robert said he replaced "like with like." I said Why, when the model I chose costs less and performs well? The M267 was $50 more. After he calmed down, he agreed to install a new check valve (should have been replaced when new pump went in) himself and give me advice about flooding control because "keeping customers satisfied" is Lincoln's biggest goal after solving flood problems. Where does throwing a foul-mouthed hissy fit belong, goal-wise? We agreed on 9 am Thurs. At 7:10 a.m. Wed. (too early to call customers), Janet left a message saying Robert couldn't "make it today." Well, good, because appointment's for Thursday. She says he'll call me back. He does not. Janet calls around 9 a.m. Thurs. to say Robert will arrive at 9:30. Lucky for them I work from home. I connect our garden hose, drag it thru the basement, bad check valve is switched; banging problem solved. I called Janet to request my 5-days ago promised receipt and a copy of the waste pump receipt (3-year warranty) because with a temper/heart problem, Robert likely won't be around in 3 years. I received the receipt via email (can always count on a woman for follow through). Because Robert told me what I owed over the phone (cell phone reception was distorted), I ended up paying $10 more than the receipt total. You could not pay me to deal with Robert Heath ever again. Service Providers: 1) Never ever yell at clients. Interact politely and without cursing. It doesn't matter what kind of day you're having, remain professional. 2) Don't talk clients to death. Keep calls focused on the project at hand. 3) Don't say "I will see you at 9:30" then send two guys in an unmarked truck who have trouble understanding English and don't shake my hand/introduce themselves. 4) Make sure all personnel wear appropriate clothing so clients don't have to look at hairy unattractive butt cracks. 5) Crew should ALWAYS test what they've installed PRIOR to leaving the premises. The guys left without running water into a newly-installed pump. That's sloppy. No previous plumber ever did that. 6) A work receipt should be provided at time of payment. I should not have to call the answering service 5 days later and ask for one. Clients: 1) Do your research. You have smartphones, it's not hard to read the interesting things customers have to say about products. 2) Ask prior to service what type of payment is expected and ask provider to make sure a receipt is given upon payment. 3) Ask for box appliance came in so you know you got what you requested. 4) Don't let a provider leave without testing the appliance! read more

We have been working with these guys for 10 years now. They have installed an access point in the front yard, repaired our catch basin, and now given us emergency service after we neglected to call them for a few years for maintenance and sewer water starting coming out one of the drains in the basement. Called around 10 PM on Saturday during the stay-at-home order. They arrived on Sunday at 11 AM and they had all the root blockage cleared out by Noon. Jan the office manager was great to work with and Phil is so nice and was able to figure out our issue very quickly. They moved some appointments around to accommodate our situation and charged a very fair price to make some repairs. Lincoln Sewers has earned my trust after taking care of two major sewer line problems in my two flat. Every time they have done solid work that was not cheap but always a good value. Their guys are upfront with pricing and not afraid of hard work. When I had water backing up in the basement they came and assessed the problem, and cleaned the catch basin while they were here. The main sewer line to the street was the problem. They would need to run a camera to find the exact problem, then dig it up and make the fix. Estimate $125 to camera, then they could say what and how much. "At least a few thousand" depending on how much digging and pipe. I had them do it. They had to replace only one section of pipe and the rest looked good all the way to the street. For a few thousand they did that, installed a clean out, replaced the concrete and replaced the floor drain in the laundry room because it had no trap. I was very satisfied. read more

I reached out to Lincoln Sewerage for a sewer scope service at my home due to a recommendation made by the City of Chicago as a result of a sewer collapse in front of our home. I called various plumbers and Phil was responsive and the most reasonably priced. We scheduled a visit and he showed up within the time frame he indicated. He and his assistant Joe were very professional. They ran the scope and determined my sewer was fine. They recommended rodding as it was clear there were roots in various sections of my sewers that needed to be dealt with. The combined service cost was well within the normal range. I was impressed with the deliberate care that was used to clean my lines, keep the surrounding area protected, and especially happy about the post work clean up. This was one of the best experience I've ever had with plumbers. Phil's knowledge and years of experience were obvious. read more

I have hired Lincoln Sewerage to install my sump pump and battery backup system three years ago. Lately my tenant has complained that the sump pump may not be working and I asked them to come out and check in the sump pump to ensure it's working. Apparently the worker didn't plug in the sump pump before they left and my basement is now flooded. I called Robert and he refused to take on any accountability and yelled at me over the phone. They were the last persons that touched the sump pump and it was simply ridiculous to argue with me. He said he was coming the next day to check on the damage and he was a no show. It's extremely unprofessional and I'm very disappointed with their service and I will never use them again. Be aware. I would give them zero star. read more

After much difficulty getting companies to return calls, come out for an estimate, then give me an estimate I returned to Yelp looking for someone to repair/replace our catch basin and found Lncoln. We had two companies come out. The first estimate was $12,000 from a "chain type" company. (14,000 if I used their financing.) They insisted on replacing the PVC pipes found in the drains and replacing them as well as taking care of the catch basin. They also gave a hard sell and warned that my foundation could be damaged from rain water. The second company gave a verbal estimate of about $6,000 but never got back to me with an official estimate even after I called back. They were going to replace the basin. Left a message for Lincoln. They returned my call the same day and set up a morning appointment for the following day. The dispatcher was friendly. Phil and his co-worker arrived a bit early, which I love. Said since only rain water went in the catch basin it could be repaired. He was able to start work then and there. There was no mention of the PVC pipe as the drains and the basin were two different issues and he didn't try to convince me to get new drains. In addition to cleaning out mud in the bottom of the basin, they repaired it, rodded the main pipe and replaced a piece of that, and replaced the lip. The total charge was $800. They were efficient and no-nonsense which I appreciate. I would go to them anytime I needing plumbing/sewer work. read more

I called at 7 AM and they were at my house by 10:30 AM. My husband and I woke up to water in our basement. We are first time home owners and this was our first experience with anything like this. I was very impressed with the professionalism and knowledge of the two gentleman who came to my house. They really knew what they were doing and they got right down to business. Got a call late afternoon that our basement drains were backing up and it smelled like sewer water. Ran home, "Yelped" sewerage and found the one review of these guys had 5 stars. I must concur. 45 minutes after calling them, Pancho and his partner were in our basement routing out our sewer line to the street. 30 minutes later the line was clear and they had a camera there to check out where the blockage occurred and what was needed to remedy the situation. $275 is not cheap, but for the rapidity and quality of their response, it was well worth it. Really odd experience with a sewer company... Our tenant complained that things were backing up in their rental house. Since our regular plumber was unavailable, we yelped and found Lincoln. They set up an appointment for 3:30 - but they actually came early before 3pm. Very nice and polite, very efficient. But wait...there's more. The clog was minimal since the tenant had finally gotten out his plunger so Lincoln didn't have much to do. The best part - - they DIDN'T CHARGE ANYTHING !! we put our faith in this company and had them examine the pipes prior to the purchase of the house. they reassured us everything was great. two weeks after we moved in, the basement got flooded due to water backup. they examined the pipes again and said they could not figure out what was wrong. we hired another company. and they saw tree roots in the pipe blokcing it right away. roots did not grow there in a few weeks. besides that, lincoln sewerage refused to provide us with any reports from two inspections... we have a lawyer working on a number of things now. including on filing complaints with better business bureau and federal trade comision. beware read more

I gave 3 but maybe more 2 star is needed? Serv ice was fast and fairly cheaper than competition. But, when they unassembled my pipes to clear clogged drain, there was minor leaking. I told them and they returned and put tape on it to "solve" issue. I mean if ur gonna unscrew pipes then screw it back so no leaks occur. Think u can do better than that. Have to tighten pipes myself to fix issue. 125 bucks for half hr...worth it? Main issue was fixed so relieved bout that. Where's the Mario Bros when u need them? read more
