My husband and I came here last night, we both are from the Midwest and haven't found a spot that makes GOOD deep dish pizza the way they do in Chicago. The reviews here were amazing and I have to agree. We met the owner Geo, he takes so much pride in his craft. The appetizer sampler was delicious and yes, you will fill up on it so keep that in mind. We really wanted to try the wings but due to FIFA, they didn't get their fresh wings. All the ingredients here are sooooooooo amazing. We got pepperoni and sausage and let me tell you, everything goes from crust to crust. No skimping on anything here, so worth the drive and money, You can taste it with every bite. If you're looking for true authentic deep dish pizza, this is the ONLY place you should come too. Expect to wait 30 minutes for the best pizza you'll ever have in CA. 10/10! read more

This is NOT four stars, only putting four stars so I don't lower their rating cos it's hard out there for restaurants. Maybe I caught them on an off night, but my experience tonite and as a former Chicagoan... First off, the guy working was plenty friendly and helpful so let's get that straight first... now bear in mind, before sampling this pie, I drove it all the way back to Glendale (30 min), but the cook time was suspiciously fast. ANYTIME you get a Chicago style deep dish, it's a 45 min bake. So....maybe they pre-make? It was done when I arrived and only had a 25 min drive as I was already out on the road. Ingredients seemed lower quality but maybe I am wrong. Sausage was the kind that makes me feel queasy after eating it (think papa John's texture or high school cafeteria) it was near flavorless and was still rather pink; additionally, the sausage "patty" was on the bottom and in Chicago, we usually put it on top, just under the frogged sauce so it's not pink. Onion was raw crunchy texture, yet crust seemed cooked at least. Cheese quality was middle of the road, and the Caesar salad was a sad. Simply put, this lacked no original flavor and quality was mid at best. As an aside, I "peeped" their "Chicago tavern style" and we do NOT have crust exposed on a true tavern style. Ingredients are edge to edge and cheese is burnt to the pan at the edges when they bring it out back home. Yeah some chains like Rossatti's have crust, but only a select few love that place . I am still on the hunt for real, flavor packed, correctly, assembled, above mid quality ingredients, Chicago's type deep dish her in Los Angeles. From what I saw on the pans of the only table eating on a rainy night, it looked just like all the other premade crusts I see in Los Angeles, that are mid at best. Been here over a decade. Los Angeles is an amazing city, with amazing food, but nobody has hit this out of town speciality on the nose yet imo. read more

Overall, the deep dish pizza was not bad flavor-wise. It had a generous amount of marinara sauce and an awesome cheese-pull. The dough was tough though as it was a challenge to slice through with a pizza cutter. It's on the greasier side, so for those who are prone to getting heartburn or acid reflux, be forewarned. I've had deep dish pizzas from Uno and Giordano's before, so my standards may be a bit higher. For the Chicago stuffed pizza, I'd give it a 4/5. Minus one star mainly because we ordered a side of cheese garlic bread, which was stale and plain. It lacked the rich butter garlic that you'd expect and the mozzarella cheese was already cold and hardened. I'd say a solid 3.5/5 overall. read more

Sadly, not great. I love Mesa and used to order from Blackburn before it closed, and both were always delicious. Last night we wanted a Chicago-style pizza and decided to try this place. I noticed a large pizza was going to cost us almost $60, so I read the reviews first and decided to give it a shot. The single most expensive pizza I've ever ordered and, unfortunately, the most disappointing. It wasn't thick at all. It was flat, the dough was completely flavorless, we could barely find the bland pepperoni, and all three of us agreed it was simply bad. For $60, I expected something pretty special. Crust was like cardboard and tasted terrible. Way too much of some seasoning that didn't belong , and over $49 for a 12-in pizza and one can of soda. Two of us only ate one piece each. My husband and I came here for the first time Saturday night after attending a USC vs. Purdue volleyball game. My husband first saw this place a few months back when he was in the area for his motorcycle maintenance and notice a deep dish pizza place. Knowing my love of deep dish pizza, he made a mental note of it and suggested we try it some time. Well, that time finally arrived. We came in and were greeted by the owner? He was giving owner vibes lol very kind and polite. He helped brake down the menu options for the pizzas and which size to go with depending on if we wanted leftovers or not. With that in mind we quickly made our order and patiently waited for the pizza. As we waited we got complimentary bread, which was quite tasty, but the star of the show was the pizza. The whole thing was delicious and I'm glad we went with the medium size so we could have leftovers the next day. The leftovers did not disappoint! I wish we had more lol but that just means we'll have to go back for more in the future :) Lastly, the ingredients we added to our pizza were great (sausage, bacon and spinach), but for me the bacon stole the show! I was excited to have an authentic Chicago deep dish pizza, so I came here and ordered one to dine in. Sausage, mushroom peppers and onions. When it came it was just a saucer of melted cheese and red sauce with barely any toppings to be found. I almost got up and asked if he got my order wrong, then I finally found one tiny piece of sausage. Eventually I uncovered a few more small pieces of toppings like uncooked mushrooms and mediocre sausage. Meanwhile so much congealed cheese and already getting cold. The crust isn't buttery or flakey it's just a New York crust bent into a deep dish pan. Once I gave up, I walked over to the owner and he asked if I wanted a box and I said no I didn't like it and described the above. His reply was simply, "you didn't like it." not a question, no surprise, not I'm sorry, and not even "too bad!", just a totally flat reaction like my thought as a customer barely registered. Did I say this was over fifty bucks?!!! I left and went to my car and actually got really sad and felt sorry for myself for having been fooled this way. Stopped in after a Dodgers game. It is very small inside but wholesome. Lots of Chicago decor. There weren't a whole lot of patrons since it was late on a Saturday night. Pro-tip: if you must order their deep-dish keep it clean and simple. Go with plain cheese or spinach. I'm from Chicago and their Chicago supreme pizza was absolutely atrocious and needs a complete page one rewrite as they would say. Extremely frustrating experience here. After shelling out over 100$ for two deep dish pizzas, I was expecting more. A lot more (5% online order notwithstanding) First and foremost , I called in the order and tried to order for pickup. 'We don't do that anymore -- order online.' A firm response, but in a way I kinda respect their decision considering so many angelenos order pizza and flake. Deep dish making is expensive. I ordered the spinach and the Chicago supreme deep dish pizzas . Large size. The bill was an astonishing $103.46. It better be good for that price because it's around $10-20$ more than average market price. Spinach dish pizza: okay. A little undercooked towards the crust. Sauce can use a little more seasoning. Extremely ordinary. Too much for $50. 3/5 Chicago supreme pizza (Windy City pizza) .When comparing the two pizzas at my gathering, from the naked eye, we cannot determine which one is the spinach and which one is the supreme. We actually had to mutilate the top-soil to see which is which. And it still wasn't self-evident. The toppings were imbedded in like the permafrost. Toppings include: sliced pepperoni, sausage, bell peppers, onions and mushrooms, black olives and meatballs. (Usually supreme doesn't have black olives and meatballs but whatever) The toppings were scant. For $50 , I expect more than one pepperoni per slice. I didn't even taste the olives nor the meatballs. What little toppings discovered most were watery and undercooked. The one pepperoni I found was floppy and didn't even stick to the base. The green peppers were a light shade of green (when they should be a much darker color of green when baked correctly. This indicates to me the toppings either weren't distributed evenly and/or the whole pizza wasn't baked properly. 1/5 Either way, not up to par with the more memorable deep dish pizza joints in Southern California. This place is newish, so there is a learning curve. However, for the money I forked up, anything less than perfection is gonna be a miss for me. Owner is nice. Feel free to reach out to me.
