Incredible drinks, chorizo, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, bananas Foster style waffles. Seasoned potatoes are so crispy on the edges they shatter when you bite into them with a soft center. Drinks are delicious and thoughtful. Best Bloody Mary I've ever had by an order of magnitude. Peach martini tastes like it was freshly squeezed. We love this simple breakfast (and lunch) spot in the neighborhood. It can get kind of brunch boozy and loud late mornings on the weekends, but we typically go early on weekends and it's great. Huge menu, solid and simple food, large portions and reasonable prices. The half order waffles are the way to go if you don't want all sweet. I came here early during the week with my sister as a walk-in and was seated immediately, I want to commend them on the expansive menu offerings and the interior was well decorated showcasing local artists which was a great touch. We started with their version of an espresso martini which is on the sweeter side for my taste but definitely enjoyable and well made. Wow... where do I even begin... we tried to place an order online so we built the whole order and when I went to submit it, it said restaurant closed.... We called and they said they turned off online ordering for the day. She told us it would only be a 15 minute wait so we walked over. I tried to put my name on the list with a quite incompetent kid who said it would be 30-40 minutes and he would call me. After 30 mins we checked the status and he said it would be 15 mins. Checked again 15 mins later (after seeing 3 groups that came after us were seated) and he said oh I can put you here, at an outside table in direct sun that had been empty the whole time. My husband asked to be seated inside and we finally got a table. This is now 1.5 hours after trying to make an online order. We were seated and the waitress came over and said the owner said they are not taking any more orders for waffles... WAFFLES. AT CHICAGO WAFFLES. The reason we came! Trying not to get too furious we ordered other items - Denver omelette, potatoes and apple cinnamon pancakes. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of short rib. My omelette was ok... oily and drenched in liquid which then made my once crispy potatoes soggy. The crispy ones I got to before they got too soggy were good. The pancakes were trash. Rubbery and flavorless with canned pie topping. My husbands biscuits were dry and powdery like a mix. The gravy had decent flavor. The short rib looked and tasted like stew meat... prettt sure it was not even short rib but my husband liked the gravy. We understand that COVID times can mean short staffing or difficulty getting full food supply but this was outrageous. It was a three hour expense of constant disappointment. Worst experience I've had in a very long time. Sorry to say I will never give Chicago Waffles another dime. read more

Follow up on previous review, didn't allow me to comment again. Instead of taking accountability, you suggest to "read the menu". I've added a new photo of what I ordered on uber eats, NOWHERE does it say CHOPPED steak. Even in the event that it did say that, you all sent BURNT CRUMBS so either way it was a terrible experience. I would suggest you take a moment and read your own listing on uber eats before responding. No one is expecting a full cut of high end steak for $7 BUT one would expect skirt steak for $7 (as you have listed) which is a super thin cut of steak for that price. Money isn't the issue here. I paid for exactly what I wanted in that moment. If I wanted a good steak I wouldn't come to a Waffle House, I would get SKIRT STEAK from a breakfast place if available and I've NEVER been served crumbles in place of skirt steak. Like how exactly is someone supposed to eat burnt steak crumbles??? Anywho If you would've simply apologized for a bad experience I would've considered visiting again but nah I'm good love. There are so many choices on the menu that you'll definitely find something for you! I got the waffles Benedict, which came with roasted potatoes and pulled pork. The eggs were very runny which I loved, and the chives added a unique touch to the dish. The liege waffles were also unique, not too sweet but a little soggy from the Hollandaise sauce.
