Similar to some other pizza chains that focus on the buffet offering, this location was busy for a Monday lunch fare. With some 15 pizzas laid out and surprisingly kept at a temperature better than just warm, they provide many different toppings as options. All of the options come as a hand tossed and with trying several variations, I wouldn't say anything stood out as exceptional. They also have a salad bar offering of iceberg or spinach leaf, with enough Toppings to keep most happy. Even with the busyness of the lunch they managed to keep both buffets clean. Something Golden Corral cant seem to do no matter the time or day of the week. I will mention that they had absolutely no table service, meaning your dirty plate sat until well after your departure. Most tables had empty plates from departed patrons.

It's been at least 15 years since I've had Chicago's Pizza until last night. Chicago's was the pizza of choice at my high school and I even participated in a pizza eating contest fundraiser for French club - I think I slowly enjoyed two pieces of pizza when I realized there was no way I was going to win. The breadsticks are delicious. They are doughy and I always get the nacho cheese dip to go with. The pizza is in my top 5 but it's not my favorite favorite. They don't do delivery, only carryout, but I was able to order delivery through DoorDash. They do also have a drive-thru where you can pick up your order or just some breadsticks for lunch. Definitely a good choice for pizza.

I'm from Chicago. This is terrible. Like crappy frozen pizza . The crust is 100 percent frozen and the cheese looks plastic. Tastes like garbage

I'm in south Indy visiting my sister and we decided to check out Chicago's pizza. I've had it before at work from another location but my sister had never had it. We ordered two large one topping pizzas and two breadsticks for a 31.99 deal. It's a bit more expensive than the big chain places but it seemed like a more local place. They got the food ready pretty quick so it was good when i got there. Service was friendly. We definitely over ordered. They had a buffet at one point so i can't wait for that to come back.

3 dollar drinks is ridiculous it's overpriced and not that good. Service was not the best and I plan to not return.

I'm usually good about reviewing places that I go to, so I'm not sure why this one got away from me in writing a review previously. There's a few other Ale Emporium locations around the metro area that I have not tried. This is the one that's closest to me. In the past, the food has been acceptable. Their menu offers appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, pizza and they also have a separate full bar area. They have TVs all around the place along with sports memorabilia decor. Today I decided to try a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and I had some potato salad with it. The potato salad was exceptionally good. The Philly cheesesteak was just OK. It could've used some more meat, onions and peppers on it as well as cheese. They don't offer an au jus dipping sauce. That was disappointing. The sandwich was just OK. The toasted sub bread had a little too much butter on it. The meat was tender enough, but it was also really chopped up quite a bit. My guest had a club sandwich and coleslaw. They liked their meal but mentioned that the coleslaw had a little too much mayonnaise. They actually had more quantity (sandwich) to their meal than I did in mine. The pricing was expected considering how much it costs just to get the basics anymore at a sit down bar / restaurant. I'm giving them three stars because it's really gone downhill as far as the cleanliness of the place. When we first sat down, our table had some kind of liquid all over it. It was a spill that was not cleaned up prior to us sitting down. There were lots of open tables, but that's the table we got. I asked the waitress if she could wipe it off and she did. Our server was friendly and attentive enough. Our food didn't come out too soon vs. didn't have to wait a real long time as well. We went earlier in the day so it wasn't busy or crowded. I did not visit the bathroom, but sometimes I do just to see what that looks like. It can be an indicator of what the rest of the place could look like, especially the condition of the kitchen. The place really does need a good scrubbing down on the walls and the floors as well as the baseboards to make the grade regarding Chef Ramsay's specs anyway. The menus looked old and worse for the wear. They were sticky and could use a good wiping down or maybe they need to print a whole new batch. The parking can get sparse and tricky if it's really busy. I am not sure if I would go back. There's a few other restaurants I'd like to try instead. Greenwood and the south side in general definitely does not lack restaurants to choose from.

This was a ominous sign of things to come. Our appetizers were shrimp spring rolls and shrimp cocktails. The spring rolls were just ok, slightly mushy with a decent filling and a serviceable mango salsa. The shrimp cocktail is described as "untraditional" with an avacado infused cocktail sauce. These came recommended by some of our party that had ordered them previously. Disappointingly, they did not have any avacado! They were just an average shrimp cocktail, without any of the expected pizzazz. We attempted to order the red pepper and gouda bisque, and were told they were out of it as well. This was more than disappointing as it was still Lent and meat was not on our menu. We had to settle for salads instead. Dinner was an improvement, but nothing special. The crispy salmon was a good sized filet, glazed with a sesame sauce. It was firm and flakey, but could have used more flavor. A mango salsa would have been a good compliment. With my salmon, the baked potato was not fully done, and my asperagus was barely cooked. To top it off, our dinner rolls were hard and cold. We had come here on the suggestion of family who were impressed enough to recommend it, but our experience was dismal. Were it not for good company, and a friendly server, we may have asked for a manager, or even some comps. Two stars may be generous and I can say that I will not be back.

I gave a different review back when the company had a different name (Roots to Rise) - same ownership - and I hadn't been impressed with their coffee or açaí bowls. With the new branding, I figured I'd visit again & stick to juices. They quickly became my post-yoga stop on weekends. I would have went before work on weekdays but they aren't open early enough for that. Today after I ordered I was warned there were a few orders ahead of me. That knowledge before ordering would have been more helpful. Normally a 5 minute wait or so, I was guessing a 15 minute wait would be reasonable. I went outside listened to 3 songs, back in, still no drink, went back out- 2 more songs, back in, still nothing. Ordered at 11:15, drink was done at 11:51. I think good business would have been upping my size for free, or a coupon, or even a thanks for your patience. A simple, "Thanks," while kind enough, caught me off guard. Any gesture to recognize that wait was unreasonably long would have sufficed. The juice was still delicious, I can't lie. I don't know if it's staffing (2 employees on Sat. morning- no Now Hiring sign tho) or what, but if you are in any kind of time crunch, I'd probably avoid the wait. If you are on vacation time- by all means- go enjoy their offerings. I realize it's what comes with a small business, but also something to recognize an unusually long wait would also be a small business quality. I'm disheartened by this. Greenwood is very slack on fresh juice options, although I saw an Ever-Well going in on 31.

The first time we visited, I was looking for a steak sandwich on the menu, and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I described to the bartender that day and he suggested the lunch cheesesteak instead--and he absolutely nailed it. It was exactly what I was craving, loaded with perfectly seasoned meat and plenty of it. The burgers have always been juicy and cooked just right, too. But let's talk about the real stars of the show... the fries. Crispy, perfectly seasoned, and somehow impossible to stop eating. Every time we say, "Okay, that's enough," another fry mysteriously disappears. And if onion rings are your thing, don't skip them. The portion is enormous, and the dipping sauce is dangerously good. I'm only half joking when I say I'd happily drink it from a cup. Shallo's has that classic neighborhood pub feel where it's easy to settle in for a while. Great food, genuinely fun service, and the kind of place you'll find yourself recommending... then returning to yourself.
