I visited here with my mom for lunch. We both decided on the menu option "pick 2". I used my app while in store to ensure I'd get my rewards. It wasn't that busy while here, and the service seemed slow. My mom got the frontega chicken with broccoli cheddar soup and French baguette. I got the spicy steak Asiago bagel stack with rustic baked potato soup and chips. I had a coupon for 50% off sweet treat, so I used it to get a chocolate croissant. I also got a drink, the passion papaya iced green tea. When our food was ready, I had to ask for my drink cup. We both enjoyed our food. What I ordered was very filling, so I saved my chips. It wasn't until a little later after eating my food and almost done that I noticed I never got my sweet treat. I had to go back to the counter to ask for it. Went here to celebrate my 67th birthday with my grand baby. We ordered two you pick twos with drinks and cookies. I got my birthday treat for free. Hez, the cashier, was very helpful and was chipper to be serving me. He told me to have a happy birthday. I got the Sip'n drink thing for $5 for 4 months. I hardly eat here cuz they're too expensive. I usually get the half sandwich & cup of soup which cost over $12. Either short staffed or a flood of online orders at once but ordered 20 min ahead and when I arrived on time (12:45 pm, so lunch rush applies) it was still in process (half frontera chicken sandwich half Caesar salad no modifications). It was supposedly ready via the status board but not actually moved to the pick up area that I could get it for 13 min which isn't all that long but when you have a narrow time window to pick up food, that delay seemed extreme). Once claimed I am happy to share that the half sandwich tasted great, so I will try this Panera again but likely not when I have a specific time window to get it and go. read more

My husband and I recently visited Panera on Southport Road in Indianapolis, Indiana. We hadn't been there for quite awhile because he isn't particularly fond of it. After eating there yesterday, I don't think we will go back. My soup was mostly broth with a few carrots and celery floating in it. The chicken which was suppose to be in it seemed to be mostly absent. My sandwich was just okay. Nothing that I ordered was worth returning to Panera for a meal again. While I like Panera in general, this location is horrible and fails to meet minimum standards of service daily. I have been going to this location for the past year every day almost without exception and have experienced. It's decline no matter what time I go to the store. It's an 80% likelihood that they have no coffee, which is the most ridiculous Situation imaginable. The management seems to be disinterested in customer service and it shows with the level of awareness or attention given, and while I understand, these can be difficult jobs. This store cancelled a catering order I placed weeks ago only a few hours before I was supposed to pick it up. They did not call me to tell me they cancelled the order, I had to call to get more information after they sent me a generic email. The girl I spoke with on the phone said "we didn't bake enough. Sorry." Since I placed this $400 order well ahead of time, this is not an excuse. I asked her what to do & she had no answer. I asked what other local bakeries and cafes do catering and she said she didn't know because she wasn't from the area. She provided no real explanation, help, or solution. I had a pickup order and when I went inside to get it I had to wait for assistance to get my order. Once I got my order the receipt had said I ordered two Mac and cheese bread bowls which was correct, however once I opened the bag there was no bread bowls inside only little cups of Mac and cheese. Ordered the new cinnamon roll in the drive thru. Big mistake because I didn't see it before I ordered it. It's terrible. It used to fill the entire box, now it doesn't even clear the half way up mark. It's soo tiny in comparison for the price. It looks, feels, and tastes like I bought it at a gas station in those sad little plastic wrappers. They don't include cream cheese with bagels apparently when I order online because I have to pay extra which I don't think was a thing before. They also have changed to not having their own drivers and using Uber or something else. They can never find my door even though if you drove straight they would run into the building. I love using Panera for catering for work events. They have a great catering team and I always have a great experience. Not so much with the restaurant side, it's pretty hit or miss. Today, I ordered curbside pickup. I pulled up, checked in, and waited patiently for about 20 minutes. There were other customers, but it wasn't very busy. Once I called the restaurant, they immediately brought my order out and apologized. I had the same experience the first time I ordered curbside pickup but the preceding 2 times were fine. The drive thru is usually fine, one time they gave me iced tea instead of iced coffee but usually my order is correct. I signed up for the Coffee+ subscription. It's normally $8.99 a month for unlimited free coffee but right now it's free until Halloween. It's great deal but Panera is out of my way so I have to go out of my way to go there. I love breakfast and lunch at Panera. I usually order the scrambled egg on brioche for breakfast. The soups, salads, and sandwiches are all delicious for lunch. As much as I like their food and the coffee subscription, I don't know that I'll continue to go to Panera on a regular basis. I will definitely keep ordering catering once my office opens again. read more

Everyone eats at Panera, right?! I mean it's an often go to for breakfast or lunch meetings. I usually follow their baked potato soup schedule and would try to grab one of their GF chocolate cookies before someone else grabbed one. It's always been a disappointment they haven't released a GF bread, but they recently introduced grain bowls. I'm picky about chicken so I opted for the baja bowl and its loaded with flavor. Make sure you give it a try and add some extra salsa verde if you want a little more spice. read more

Happy to see that Panera is continually expanding their menu to include more vegetarian items. Their salads all include meat . I think the bowls are new and there were 2 vegetarian choices: Mediterranean and Baja. I chose the Baja and it had all kind of nice ingredients, including avocado (yum). The downside to the bowl was that it was smallish and not enough spice (guess they have to appease the masses). My husband got the pick 2: corn chowder (maybe) and cheese flatbread. The chowder was good and the flatbread was very cheesy... a good thing if you're a fan of a lot of cheese. I went through the Panera drive thru with my fiancé around 4:30. There wasn't a line at all so out time through the line was very quick. I ordered a full Chicken Caesar salad and my fiancé ordered the Fuji Apple Chicken salad . I also ordered the Papaya Passionfruit green tea(which was delicious) the Fuji Apple salad had pecans, red onions, tomatoes and blue cheese. It also had the most delicious sweet balsamic vinaigrette that had some apple notes to it. My salad (chicken caesar is my fav) was pretty basic. I didn't really get the caesar vibe. I greatly missed the cracked pepper and Parmesan coming through a little stronger but it was okay. We also ordered a Broccoli Cheddar bread bowl which was my fav part of my meal besides my tea. For all 4 items, it was 30.06. Not too terrible. Next time, I'll definitely get more tea and stick to the soups ... overall experience 3/5 read more

As always this is a great meeting spot with something for everyone and a friendly environment. I must admit to loving their newish drinks with multiple lemonade and other healthy options if you are not a soda drinker. Also with the addition of several vegan options this is where our book club and my husbands men's morning study group like to meet up. I got the delicious modern Greek salad (hold the feta) which is just enough to satisfy and be a light option. My friends got various soups and sandwiches which were eaten quickly and with gusto. Not to mention that due to the rewards program (always a winner) I got $2 off my salad and a free bagel for the hubbie. We will be coming back again and soon! No juice anymore, said they were going to call out our name when it was ready but we learned later we had to be standing in front of the pick up counter(didn't tell us that even though we told them we would be outside. "That's ok, we'll call your name. " And they wouldn't give us one of the pagers, "We like to use those for lunch and dinner. " What???? ). Do So, cold food for us. I love Panera, even now that I'm gluten and dairy free. They have good food and even though I can't have the broccoli cheddar soup anymore, I find things to enjoy. My current fave is the green goddess chicken club salad. The dressing has dairy, so I sub it for balsamic vinaigrette and it's still quite tasty. This location isn't the greatest Panera, though. Almost every time I'm here, the service is slow. I once waited for a to go order for ten minutes or so after I got there (it should've been done by the time I arrived), and the employees seemed a bit confused. I got the food and I wasn't in a rush, but this seems to be more of the norm in my experiences. That said, they don't usually mess up my orders and they do seem to have a steady, if not busy, flow of people coming in. I'd still eat here, just be prepared that you may have more of a wait than normal. read more

Today I had hands down the best dinning experience in quite some time. My 80 Year grandmother and stopped in where we were immediately greeted with smiles and a warm welcome. My grandmother had not been here before so she had some questions and one of the employees, Mr Eakle, was happy to assist and provide her answers and suggestions. He then even offered to bring over the food due to her as a nice jester! After our food was brought he went above and beyond and check on us and even provided us refills for our drinks. After we were done we were so grateful we thanked him in person and shook his hand. Little did we know that he was actually the General Manger of the store. Listen. I've got a soft spot for Panera - I practically lived in one during college and enjoying the free refills on coffee as I worked on papers. But this Panera is my least favorite. Dare I say...I may even hate it. I've been visiting on and off for 3-4 years; being off 65 and near Meijer is a great location. The Cons: - They run out of items frequently. Many times in the early afternoon or even late morning there would be no Chocolate Chip Muffies - aka one of the most popular baked goods - Also don't have random items some days like clean spoons (so they give plastic) or coffee cup lids. -This week the Spicy Thai Chicken didn't have wontons and barely filled the bowl (see pix) for my YP2 order. I asked about the wontons and they sold out...UM, then tell me before I ordered? I would have gotten something else (barely any of the veggies in there too). And when I said it wasn't a large portion compared to other locations, they said they do a portion control and offered me more lettuce (lol) - The set-up is TERRIBLE. This is a very busy location, so I understand they require lots of seating, but they cram tables together....if you have an anxiety disorder, trust, this place will set you on edge. - The lighting is very bright. Most Paneras have a blend of brighter areas and more dim lighting. I prefer the latter. - Recently they took 5 spots in front of the restaurant: 3 for delivery drivers and 2 for pick-up orders. It's just annoying, even if I can maybe understand - It tends to be a bit more cluttered and sometimes dirtier -- mostly because it is a very busy location - Too many people. It gets VERY noisy. The Pros: - While the high visit rate, you'd think they'd have the money to hire more folks. The Pro is: Employees are working hard! But clearly there aren't enough - It is very possible that out of my 20~ visits over the years, I always visit on bad days and maybe this place is amazing. The Panera by Greenwood Mall is better. We went there around 8 pm on May 21, 2024. Order under husband's name R. Lee Kellems. The service was beyond slow. One of the people making food was itching his arm pit while making food. I got a BLT hat 2 half pieces of bacon was overflowing with Mayo. I feel sick to my stomach after eating there. The people making food were treating all of the many customers waiting for food like they hated them myself included. We are not going back.
