We ordered the Mango Osmanthus Oolong Tea and the Classic Milk Tea, and both were great and high-quality, just as we expected. However, the visit was a bit disappointing due to a misleading promotion. The store had banners up advertising their lucky cup sleeve with giveaway, which started on June 8th across all locations. When we visited on July 1, the promotional banner was still there, but the staff informed us that they no longer having the lucky sleeves. It was a hot day, and we were craving boba, so we decided to stop by this place. We had noticed it and the yogurt drink shop next door when we were picking up food from Shin's Tofu on a previous visit. After looking at both options, we decided to give this spot a try. When we arrived, there was only one couple ahead of us. Ordering is done through a kiosk, which was easy enough to use. My husband was a little shocked when my brown sugar boba drink came out to over $9! After we placed our order, the place quickly got busy and a line started forming behind us. One thing I liked was the order status screen. It shows all the orders in progress, the estimated wait time, and displays your name when your drink is ready. Unfortunately, my order seemed to take quite a while. I only ordered a brown sugar boba, but it felt like everyone else's drinks were being completed before mine. Meanwhile, my husband's Pineapple Breeze was ready pretty quickly. When my drink was finally called, it was still a little warm, so I had to swirl the cup around to help the ice cool it down. Thankfully, the first sip made up for some of the wait. The boba was excellent--soft, chewy, and with that perfect bounce that every boba lover looks for. They also have a rewards game where you pull a tab on the drink sleeve to reveal an animal. Depending on which animals you collect, you can earn discounts on future drinks. It sounds fun, but most rewards require collecting multiple different animals, and you have to save the sleeves. Since we probably won't be visiting frequently, it seems a bit difficult to actually redeem anything. My biggest hesitation is the value. While the drink was tasty and the boba was top-notch, the size was noticeably smaller than what we get at some of our favorite boba spots, especially considering the price. Overall, it was a good drink with excellent boba, but between the higher price point and smaller size, it's probably not a place we'll visit often. Wow, we have a newly opened up Chicha San Chen in the Pacific Rim Plaza II! It takes over where Gong Cha used to be. The parking is ok, though crazy during lunch hours. The interior is small and has only a couple of benches to sit on. Two kiosks and/or cashier to order from. The service is super friendly and helpful! My go-to order is always the Dong Ding Oolong Milk Tea with boba. Choosing their "perfect" sugar level is spot-on since it's never overly sweet and feels more like a balanced 50%. i placed my order on snackpass and it was done pretty quickly! i ordered dong ding oolong tea with cream (and boba) and was unfortunately not a fan. it was almost there but had a really funky aftertaste to me. maybe i wasn't a fan of the tea notes and should've asked to sample, but i honestly don't think i've ever disliked an oolong milk tea before! maybe it's the cream and i should've just ordered with milk???? i don't know lol their pearls are also huge and just taste kind of standard. as someone who usually gets drinks at 25-50% sweet at places like i-tea or sunright, their "perfect" is fine. it's not super sweet though and i would probably appreciate more options than just perfect or light. would maybe revisit and get something else just to see, since i have heard a lot of people say it's good lol read more

This location is the latest in the chain to open a few weeks ago. There wasn't really a line upon arrival and we ordered online via Snackpass for pickup. This location doesn't have any table seating. There's a few small benches, but sitting somewhat blocks off the walkway for other visitors. Staff was friendly and helpful. Service was also very quick. Lemon Condensed Milk is my usual go to for ChiChaSanChen. My drink felt heavy on the ice even though I asked for less. In terms of value, $8.15 is steep for a 16oz cup. Regardless, I'll be back for this specific drink since I can't get it at any other milk tea chain. I don't frequent Chichasanchen as much as other spots due to pricing and wait times, but sometimes I do crave their lemon condensed milk drinks! read more

To order, there are two kiosks & the worker at the cashier. Convenient, but I can see the place getting crowded when it is super busy. I like that they have the screen to keep you updated on the status of your order. My order was ready before the estimated time listed. Got the Honey Osmanthus Oolong Tea & Bubble Milk Tea (both light sweetness). 10/10 satisfied! Quality tea & flavor. They use non-dairy creamer. Really good boba consistency - nice chew. I appreciate the way they package the drink with the sleeve, rope, & side sticker. Boba drinks can be so expensive nowadays - this is more on the pricey side but you're truly paying for the quality. While waiting for my drink, I saw that they were giving out a free pin this weekend (25th & 26th) if you order two drinks & follow them on IG. There were two options, really like the one I chose! They offer samples. The sample was the black tea + creamer. They have a sample & water station at the front by the cashier - easy & convenient for you to grab on your own. First time coming to this location and wow it's definitely the smallest of the locations I've been so far. Came here in the middle of the afternoon and while it was super busy there were about maybe 9 people in here at the kiosks. Assuming it gets much busier at night or on weekends. Actually, if you're a freak about franchises, Chicha might be one of the best ones? I am certainly not a freak since I've often found chain milk tea places to be underwhelming, but Chicha surprised me. The ambience in here is honestly really cozy. Even though there's no tables for you to sit and catch up with a friend, the modern and chique interior makes waiting for your drinks a nice experience. They also sell some of their tea powder by the front. The service is also really friendly. They offer samples and can suggest you drinks based on what you think what you might like. Samples, in a milk tea place? Kind of unheard of to me, since I usually have to pay the actual drink fee itself to figure out what I like in a menu. But the real contender that Chicha delivers on is its flavorful drinks. You can definitely taste the tea-- none of that artificial flavoring, watering down or it being too milky. The drink also comes with fresh, piping hot boba, which is always a plus to me! The prices are unfortunately a bit steep; but with the authenticity of the flavors, I guess you're getting what you pay for. Plus there's samples, so you can come in buying a drink you know you'd like. I got the Dong Ding Oolong Milk Tea, which has cemented itself as probably one of my favorite oolong milk teas around the area? It has a strong but refreshing, earthy aroma and the foam at the top is a nice touch. The place does boast about its oolong a fair bit, and I can definitely see how it won an award. I really wanted to like this place, but it was so disappointing. : ( I placed my order regularly through one of the staff/cashiers and ordered a "Jasmine Milk Tea" with Boba with "Perfect Sweetness" and "Regular Ice". I received the wrong item, and instead, got an iced Jasmine Tea with Boba (no milk) with barely any ice. When I politely let one of the staff know I received the wrong item and ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea, she alerted the cashier who originally took my order, and the girl looked at me visibly annoyed and said "you ordered a plain Jasmine tea" and I said, "no, I ordered a Jasmine Milk Tea." She then gave me the infamous Gen Z stare (the one where they short-circuit and just stare at you when dealt with even the smallest conflict) then said, "Um...we can remake it...." then she went back to two other employees to discuss. She then looked in my direction again still visibly annoyed and went about remaking my drink (how uncomfortable). Did something so small, a simple error on your part, require a discussion? Shortly before they handed me the drink I actually ordered, the staff said, "the remade drink is extra." I'm like, "I think I was already charged over $7?" "It's extra for the cream". Then I'm like "uh...ok." Well, I didn't want my remade drink to be held hostage behind the counter, so to have it released, I was rung up for an extra $1.50 or so, so the total for a basic Jasmine Milk Tea with Boba is nearly $9 for a one-size, small cup. Sure..."each cup is hand brewed" for "quality", as the store advertises, but it was nowhere near the quality I received. I wouldn't mind the price if the drink and service was actually good, but two out of the three staff I interacted with were rude, handled correcting a simple order inefficiently, and for the wait, the drink was just awful. The Jasmine Milk tea lacked flavor and was super watered down (as many folks already pointed out in other reviews), only had a couple pieces of ice floating on the top, and the "perfect" sweetness was non-existent. It reminded me of a boba drink after all of the ice has melted and was just left sitting in a car or something. : / Definitely will not be coming back here, even if a refund was offered. I almost forgot to mention that while waiting for my drink, I asked one of the staff about the tea packets they had on sale. My question was, "Is that just plain tea you have to brew? Does it come with cream, or do you have to add milk?" She then stared at me, asked another employee, and they both looked at me and said "we use our own special cream, sorry." And I was like, "no, the tea packets that you sell (I point to the ones on the shelf) how much milk would you recommend when brewing that at home for a milk tea?" Then they just stare at me again with no answer, and I'm like "Nevermind.." because I already wasted so much time and just wanted to get out of there. This is a smaller location compared to their other ones. Also, not much service either, especially compared to Berkeley and Fremont. I ordered my usual - a green tea with milk and boba at what they call perfect sweetness and less ice. Drink was not that sweet and it tasted a bit watered down. Pleasantly surprised to see that there's a Chicha location now in San Jose. This location is a lot smaller than the Cupertino one, with very minimal seating. It's more of a get your drink and leave place vs a hangout and linger spot. The tea flavor was there and the taro balls were chewy and not under or overcooked. I am a big fan of Chicha San Chen and was so excited to see they opened one closer to me since I would have to drive all the way to Fremont or Cupertino. This location is very small but they have a couple kiosks and cashier to order. You can also order online which is a great option since there is no indoor seating. I got the osmanthus oolong tea with cream and boba. I love the flavor of the tea and the cream compliments it really well, making the sweetness just right. Their boba is really tasty too, but I think their boba-to-tea ratio is off. I always find myself with too much boba at the end. I'd rate this drink 4.5/5 I also got the creamy mango tart and it was so good. The mango flavor is just right, being sweet and sour and balanced by the cream. You can still taste the tea flavor as well. This drink is a 5/5 for me but I would suggest getting less sweet. read more
