Que Rico! These tacos were very good. I enjoyed the chicken more than the chorizo. The hot sauces were very good and quite spicy. Don't be scared to grab a Coke bottled from Mexico either. Insanely good. Best Mexican food in southwest CT! Haven't had Mexican food this good since I took a trip to California last month. We have been chichos fans for almost a year and it is beyond authentic beyond amazing. I got the crunchy tacos today and they might be my new favorite thing on the menu. Like they remind me of getting tacos from a truck in California with such delicious flavor. The salsa they use is insane. The bowl and salads are huge and are basically two meals in one! Food: Easily 5 stars. The nachos were heavily topped which was awesome. Very generous on the chorizo and jalapeños which match our palettes. Their jalapeño sauce was very very good. The taquitos were drizzled in this same jalapeño sauce and sour cream, had a good crunch and were excellent. The barbacoa meat in the hard tacos was so juicy. The tacos did get a little soggy by the time we made it home but the meat made up for it. The quesadilla was tasty but wish it had more of a crunch. The menu said 6 taquitos for $4 (their instagram has a photo of 6 as well) but we only got 4 taquitos, which was a bit disappointing Parking: Very poor situation. In fairness, I'd probably give Chicho's a 3.5 if I could. The restaurant is small, but super cute. I loved the interior sign - "all you need is love & tacos." The staff was friendly and helpful. So on to the food - I ordered Shrimp Tacos. Overall the tacos were good, but could be great. I thought the Mexican corn on the tacos was a really nice and cool addition. The chipotle slaw was ok, but could have had more chipotle kick, and honestly between the creamy corn and a creamy slaw, it was way too creamy. The diced onions on top were a little too big for my liking. I was disappointed by the shrimp as they seemed to be pre-made (frozen) popcorn shrimp. I was also disappointed that they only used one tortilla per taco. With corn tortillas, I am accustomed to have double tortillas, especially as full as the tacos were. It became a little challenging to eat the tacos. I am not sure if I would go out of my way to visit Chicho's again, but glad I tried them. read more

I've been hearing great things about this place so I finally decided to try it out. The staff was friendly and service was quick. My friend and I ordered 2 burritos to share (crispy shrimp and carne asada), and we ordered a side of chicken taquitos. The chicken taquitos are an absolute must-have! They are golden, and crispy, and the homemade jalapeño avocado sauce on top is SO good and makes the dish! On the other-hand the burritos we had were decent. Although the burritos were a great size and absolutely stuffed, we felt as if they were both pretty bland. The carne asada had a great grilled taste on the meat, but no real flavor other than that. The crispy shrimp again, had no seasoning and the amount of shrimp was a bit disappointing. I definitely recommend squeezing extra lime or ordering a side of the jalapeño avocado sauce to add on! read more

Got food delivered from here through Uber eats for the first time tonight. The menu definitely reminds me a bit of chipotle, but the food far exceeds that. Like so flavorful, and so ridiculously delicious. They have different categories on their menu, your burritos, bowls, tacos, nachos, quesadillas... All with the same meat selections and toppings. I went for a bowl with Carne asada, My husband went for a selection of four tacos. We did a cheese quesadilla for my daughter, and since I can't resist, we also got a large order of guacamole and a side of sweet plantains. The plantains were absolutely delicious. The best ones I've had in a while. And my bowl was so good. It was one of those times I kept eating way past being full. The rice and beans that meat and other toppings sat on was also really delicious. The rice was almost like a sticky rice you would get at a Japanese restaurant. I didn't get to try any of my husband's tacos, but he made yummy noises the entire time he ate them. And my toddler actually ate cheese quesadillas so I guess they were good too! We had a multitude of restaurants to choose from near our hotel and finally landed on this one. Let me tell you we were not disappointed. Popped in here on opening day. It seems to be run by nice people who have taken on the struggle of opening a new restaurant in the midst of a pandemic. BRAVE! We got a carne asada and carnitas bowl. Service was quick and really liked the added touch that they make their own sauces. Homemade touches like that are always important to me. I really really wanted to like it but the taste was pretty bland. The bowl itself did not look very appetizing. The meat was ok, corn ok, could have used some more pickled red onions which seemed to be the only thing that gave it a nice kick of flavor. They're new so I hope they flourish in the community! But I'd definitely suggest workshopping the flavors, maybe using fresher ingredients or having more confidence in bolder flavors - a homemade jalapeño salsa should taste like jalapeño you know? read more

First I wanna say how awesome the staff is here, everybody is so friendly and really values your support. Kudos to y'all for opening a kickass restaurant during a pandemic! The vibe here is kind of like a cafe instead of a restaurant which was pretty cool. My husband and I together tried quite a few things - the chicken tinga taco, chorizo taco, elote, taquitos, and a steak & chorizo burrito. The chicken tinga and elote were both the best I've ever eaten! SO much flavor, SO much yum! My complaint with the chorizo is that it is Italian sausage which really threw me off because I love chorizo. The taquitos were perfectly crispy but felt a bit dry since it was only chicken inside. Kinda wished it had toppings like flautas typically have (queso fresco, Mexican crema, lettuce) they only had a bit of salsa on top.
