I ended up giving Chick & Burger five stars mainly because the service honestly carried the experience. You can immediately tell this place hustles HARD. The team in the front, especially the woman helping customers, was incredibly attentive and genuinely made it feel like customers come first. That level of hospitality is honestly becoming rare nowadays. I'd even recommend tipping upfront because I unfortunately didn't before ordering, and the service still ended up being the standout part of the visit. Shoutout to the owner too because you can clearly see they're working their butt off to keep things moving. As for the food, I'd personally rate it closer to a solid four. It was good, definitely worth trying at least once, but if I'm being completely honest, it probably wouldn't become one of my regular go to spots. Nothing was bad at all, it just didn't personally leave me craving a return visit. The restroom situation was also a little confusing because there was a sign saying they were closed, but they weren't actually closed, so maybe that's just their way of limiting random people from coming in. Overall though, the service and work ethic alone really left a positive impression on me. As far as the ambience, I would say the lighting is very like romantic dinner setting, which was cool. Damn!! I work nearby and got off just before 10 pm so swung into here to grab a late dinner. I started ordering in the self order kiosk but a very kind woman came out and greeted me, asked if I'd been here before and handed me the menu. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and fries. It took a little longer for the food to come out than you'd expect but there was a large group that was ahead of me. And when the food came out it was piping hot. And SO delicious. Fries are delicious crispy outside and soft inside. And the crisp on that chicken sandwich paired with the flavor of the sauce and toppings in the chicken (pickles, coleslaw) was incredible. I felt obliged to mention the I had a very long day today and while heading home I suddenly craved a Chick and Burger smash burger even though I had not yet tried it. I Jin was very friendly remembering me. I went for the gusto I had the double smash burger and fries. OMD (oh mio Dio) it took less than 15 minutes and all was placed in a classic brown paper bag with and inset handle opening (so classy) I rushed out the door and on my 10 minute journey home I managed to reach in for the amazing crispy, hot, and fluffy fries. Needless to say I only had two fries left when I got home. When I opened that ecologically correct box, it was (LAFB) love at first bite. The bread was well toasted, with thinly sliced dill pickles, well grilled onions, American cheese, including between each patties. It was an explosion of a flavor fest! My neighbor and friend was compelled by her dog Bubba to stop and plant himself at my door to let him in (he obviously was following that luscious scent) I shared a piece with him and my dog (Guido) they were hooked! I ordered Korean Fried Chicken sandwich with sweet butter sauce which is served with a sides of fried. The chicken sandwich was a large white meat chicken fillet which coated with a crunchy crust while being tender and juicy on the inside delicious. The French fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, in all a very satisfying meal and a good value as well. Also, here is a good selection of beers and wines reasonably priced. We stopped at Chick & Burger at the Gower Gulch Mall in Hollywood before a show at the Hollywood Palladium. The menu is a mix of smash burgers and Korean dishes. I had the smash burger and it was great. The burger had good flavor, the nice crisp edges and the bun was soft. It was served with a sides of fries. The fries were crispy and good bar food level. What a great spot in an unassuming area! I had a great experience here for the first time. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the cashier & (I assume) the owner were very helpful. I ordered the Double Smash Burger, lemon pepper wings, and a bulgogi bowl for my partner. And our friends ordered the buffalo wings with another double burger with bacon and a chicken sandwich. When I say everything we ordered was delicious, I mean EVERYTHING was so good. The chicken was so crunchy and tasty with juicy chicken. The burgers were incredible. I've tried many smash burgers and these were up there with some of the best. The bacon added so much smoky flavor. The bulgogi bowl was so tasty with tender bulgogi. Everything was really good. I didn't get to try any of their food because I was planning on ordering "to go" and then I said to the older woman with black hair at the front that I also wanted to use the restroom. She told me it was out of order. I looked around and there were other customers in the restaurant and said "what if a customer needs to use the restroom". It was my first time there I took my boss for early dinner first off when we walked in no one inside it was completely empty. There was one waitress there that appeared to be a little confused and rude. I ordered a spicy chicken bowl and a chicken sandwich from my boss. I asked for Diet Coke and a water and she brings me a big bottle of Fiji which I didn't request instead of asking me beforehand I try to give it back to her and she refused to take it back. I will never go back there again not to mention the food was horrible. They brought it to the table in the big bowl with hardly three bites of rice and barely any chicken inside the bowl. We stopped by this place out of pure curiosity to try their chicken. I was delighted to see they had a bigger menu with Korean delicacies to order from. I'm not sure if there is a certain time some options are not available but we stopped by around 5pm on a Tuesday and their ramen/soups were not available. Nonetheless I ordered their chicken strips with fries. The chicken was crunchy and well seasoned. Given that it was Tuesday there was not too many people in the restaurant. I had the burger, which was virtually flavorless, other than the metallic taste of the beef patty. The fries it came with were cold and stale. After attending a live show taping at Sunset Gower Studios across the street, we were needing to find a place for some delicious dinner and we hit the jackpot when we found Chick & Burger! Located in a unique strip mall, Chick & Burger seems unassuming from the outside, but do not let that stop you from coming inside, the food is unreal! Inside we were greeted by a very nice and helpful employee who helped us with the menu and some recommendations. I went with the Single Burger and Fries along with a side of a Korean Fried Chicken Tender so that I could sample a little bit of everything from the menu. It was all so delicious! You truly cannot go wrong! The burger was a melt in your mouth smashburger with just the right amount of toppings. The fries were made to order and tasted so fresh! The tender was also made to order and I paired it with the Buffalo Sauce for a little kick. So good! We came in for a late lunch/early dinner before a movie, so the place was very quiet and we got plenty of attention from the cashier, who was friendly and quick to fill us in on details (it was our first time here). It's a fast-casual place, so the decor and general environment is in that realm -- although, they have thick, wooden tables, which give the place a feel closer to casual than fast. Also, quite a few TV's, so the game-watching possibilities here are very good. As to the food, the Korean fried chicken was nicely cooked, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. However, the coating didn't have much flavor unto itself, so the fact that I ordered multiple sauces on the side for tasting revealed a blandness to the star of the show you wouldn't necessarily notice if the chicken had been tossed in sauce. I found the smash burger to be more successful. Beef was nicely crusted on the flattop, and well-seasoned. Cheese was appropriately melted, toppings fresh, and the bun properly squishy & sturdy at the same time. Onion rings were standard issue and forgettable. They do offer beer and wine, but we didn't partake this time. All in all, you can have a decent casual meal here if it's convenient, but there are plenty of places making better chicken and burgers, so I wouldn't go out of my way for a stop. read more
