Kluckin Combo #2 (Two Sandwiches and Fries) & Side of Mac & Cheese
    Sal C.

I got the combo with two chicken sandwiches and fries, and everything came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The long crinkle cut fries were golden, crispy on the outside, and soft inside. They had a really good texture and tasted fresh. The sandwiches came on long buns kind of like the style KFC uses, but the chicken was way better. The chicken was juicy, tender, crispy, and packed with seasoning in every bite. The special sauce on top pulled everything together perfectly. I tried the Kluckin' Hot level and it had a really nice kick without being overwhelming. I enjoy spicy food, and for me it was flavorful more than painfully hot, which I liked because I could still taste the seasoning and the chicken itself..

I wish I could tug the items on the menu, but just look at this.

Well, I'll tell you what, if I wasn't completely surprised, I'd be lying. Now let's just keep it real, I was already getting full from nibbling on other things in the same plaza, but as soon as a piece of that chicken touched my mouth from this place, it was OVER!!! It wasn't too salty, it wasn't dry, they weren't trying to over season the plate due to a lack of cooking skills, the portions were generous, and they definitely didn't hold back for the seasoning on the fries. I could see the flakes and the color of their marinade on the fries to the point where I have to get an additional order of it à la carte. The place was well lit and clean, and I enjoyed the most mostly all white aesthetic. I would describe the employee who served me as a gentleman. Someone who cared about the person he was talking to and wanted them to have a good experience. We even shared a few sentiments in our native tongue. Nobody in this establishment is desperate for compliments or review, but I can only hope that they get a chance to read it and know that their service, demeanor and conduct were appreciated far beyond the plate of food.

So.....guess one should check the 4 and 5 reviews how long ago they were written!!! First off, there was no one in the place. Bad sign! Second, the guy taking the order was curt and rude, and third, our food sucked! I was expecting so much more with flavors. They put the powder on the chicken to make it hot. I ordered the nachos and my chips were very STALE!! It was disgusting. My husband got the licking bowl and he said it was just ok. Very disappointed that we spent $50 for crP

This place never disappoints! Y'all have no idea how good and underrated this place is compared to other chicken spots in LA. It's best to always eat here at the restaurant believe me! Taking it to go doesn't hit the same but it will still be delicious. The service is always amazing here from the staff and the cooks in the back. Always making sure if there is anything you need. The ambiance too I must say is always excellent I never have been disappointed with it always clean and neat!

We were in the mood for chicken sandwiches on our way to a show at the Hollywood palladium and after some research decided to stop by. We placed our order for pickup and showed up right when the order was due and our food was waiting for us! The place itself is very casual and there are 5-6 tables for dine in. The service is the best thing about this place and I would give it a 5/5. The gentleman working at the register offered sauces and drinks and was very kind and hospitable. The sandwiches themselves though were a little disappointing. We got mild and medium and they were not very crispy nor were the fries. The bun was exceedingly average and I would give it a 3/5. Maybe I came on an off day but the chicken wasn't seasoned well nor crispy. The fries also needed some extra time in the fryer. I would recommend Dave's or even Cane's based on the flavor of the food but the service made up for a couple points.

Ive been wanting a hot chicken sandwich for the past few weeks and I was lucky enough to be close enough to stop by here. Ive never been here and i figured I'd give it a shot. They had a decent menu and I like that they could change the sides for me but I settle for a sandwhich with some fries. The thing thst through me off was that it came on a hotdog bun. I got the hot level and it tasted great. The hot dog but got soggy in the middle and broke apart before I finished it. Not a big deal but messy. The fries were well season and taste great and served really hot. Id definitely come back, I'd like to try the waffles and Mac and cheese.

The hype about the fries is warranted. They have a nice dusting of spices. The sauce they give with all orders is good on them. I ordered a chicken sandwich and my wife got the tenders. Everything was good, but I really wish more chicken places would offer a dark meat option. This place, like most, only offers breast meat.

Sometimes I have hankerings for chicken and waffles, and in a pinch, this hits! The waffle is a bit on the soggy size which is what I docked a star for, but it's still quite tasty. The chicken is perfect - moist and breading was crispy. I would definitely order this again!

    Combo #2 + Mac & Cheese

Tried the combo #2 and mac & cneese and thought it was just all-around average. Fries were the best part and the mac & cheese is definitely skippable. Cheese is also an extra $1 per sandwich and I guess I must have missed the small font on the menu. I was a little surprised by that surcharge after that option was asked but the price was not mentioned. I did like the spice level of the Kluckn' Hot.

I'm so happy I tried The Kluckin Chicken! The food is so delicious and made with good quality. I ordered to go at lunch and the person helping me was very sweet. The atmosphere feels very clean and modern. Definitely recommending this place from now on. I ordered the 12 piece wings and loaded fries. 10 out of 10!

I ordered the chicken strips with fries, while my partner ordered a two-piece chicken dinner with macaroni salad and spicy rice. Although we had to wait a little while for the food, it arrived hot. We both agreed that it was some of the best fast-food fried chicken we had ever eaten. The chicken was moist and the batter was crispy. My fries were good, and my partner's macaroni salad and spicy rice were both flavorful. We especially loved the biscuit. I also couldn't help noticing that although the dining room feels like something of a relic, it is very well maintained. There were no dirty tables and no trash on the floor. I was genuinely shocked when the cashier came out to ask how everything was and whether we needed anything else. Most fast-food chains seem determined to eliminate as much human interaction as possible. Pioneer Chicken was a refreshing reminder that fast food can still be friendly, clean and satisfying. Pioneer Chicken is a winner in my book!

In a not very obvious area of DTLA, next to Urth Cafe but no other restaurants. We didn't have reservations so we had the option of sitting at the bar or following the waitress to a back room area instead of the front room that is visible to everyone. My son is a minor, so to the back we went! Seriously, the closer we got to the back room the more I felt I had been cast in "The Chef." Scary! Lol! The back room is black. Blackout black! Black tablecloths, walls, chairs, dark, low light. Very luxurious and open space. Which - because it wasn't full at the time - felt a bit like being in the film, The Menu." A bit too upscale and empty to feel comfortable. More guests arrived later, a large table, so that was more comforting. The food: Recommended *Kara Kara Tamales: braised oxtail with a peanut butter sauce. Wow! The taste was wonderful! Hard to explain but Filipino/African food meets Latin food. It was on the "shared plate" menu, which to me means it will be a lot. But the 2 tamales were not very big. Still, they were so rich that the 2 really were sufficient to share. Quite filling. I couldn't get enough of the sauce! *Crab fried rice: Very tasty and generous portion. Plenty share! Not recommended: The street eats menu. Now, this is what pulled us in - the sights and smells of the food being grilled outside the restaurant. Most of which was on this meme. Like a tasting menu. But for price to portion ratio, it simply isn't worth it. I ordered the skirt steak. 4 oz, cut in half. Cooked down to what looked like .5 oz! Each on a toothpick sitting in a paper plate (or maybe it was cupcake holder?) IDK. I just know it wasn't a good presentation and the taste wasn't memorable. Regular. More grill smell than taste. Not at all worth $8. Service: Really nice. And mostly good. Though they did fail short by (1) Using only small appetizer size plates and (2) Not bringing a fresh plate to eat the crab fried rice on after the peanut butter sauce laced tamale appetizer was eaten. The server brought the fried rice, but didn't bother to give us fresh plates (nor silverware). My son was mortified when I grabbed a plate from one of the empty tables! (Teenager energy on full effect). But after initial attentive service, the variety of different servers whizzing by didn't stop to ask if we needed anything. And I sat waiting at least 8 minutes staring at the rice. I assured my young man that the servers would be fine with me getting another plate to save them from having to. And once I did, he suddenly started eating from my plate of my peanut butter free fried rice. And of course, when a server did attend to us and I let her know, she was glad I took matters into my own hands instead of not eating for 15 minutes. Thoughts: Go for dinner, and order from the full dinner menu, skip the skimpy street eats menu. With reservations you can sit in the main restaurant area that has some view to the outdoors. Without it - back to the black room you go! Know that it will be expensive. And it will be original. Not sure I'll go back. It's very "special occasion" upscale dining. But If I do it'll be with reservations. The meal was memorable and worth experiencing.
