Everything worked in harmony. The crisp of the chicken, the brightness of the slaw, the subtle rebellion of the pickles. I chose the "medium" spice level, which turned out to be about as dangerous as a well-mannered librarian. Next time I will go "hot," maybe even "reaper," because if I am going to suffer, I would rather it be for art or poultry. Now, as for the mac and cheese: tragedy, pure and simple.
