I understand that the Palm Desert location is a relatively new establishment, but we have eaten at chick fil a in Moreno Valley for years and have never had slow or bad service. This location definitely needed better staff training before opening. They are slow, seem very disorganized, and lines are extremely long. They have an app and tell you to avoid lines and waits by using it. We used it the other day and arrived 10 minutes after placing the order, and we still waited for over 20 minutes for our food. The order ahead ( again from the app) drive through line was 20 -25 cars long, and the order at the window line had maybe 2 cars in it. Faster to NOT use the app. During Covid we drove from Palm Desert to Moreno Valley just for chick-fil-a, and even though they had long lines we got through quickly and seamlessly. The first time we visited the Palm Desert location a young lady took our order while we were in line inside the restaurant. We paid, sat down and waited for about 30 minutes. I went to the counter and asked what was the hold up, and was told that the order had never been placed.. so we waited for another 15 minutes for them to process the order and bring our food.They were very apologetic, but our fast food lunch turned out to take well over an hour. Understandably a new business however there must be a business ethic for service. After waiting 45 minutes for a rep to take our order there with no menu or placard to order from. Some sort of signage should be put up closer to the entry line rather than waiting until you were on top of the building to see food availability and pricing. I have never been to a Chick-fil-A, ever, and had to wait so long. It took 45 mins to get to a person to order, then andother 30 to get food. The people in the "app" line were getting their food significantly faster, even after pulling into the line and ordering. I tried to do this, but the app wasn't working for me. I 100% realize this is a new store, but corporate needs to get out there and figure out the issues and fix asap. It shoukd never take an hour 15 mins to get food. To make it worse, there were multiple times I wanted to just jump.out of line and leave, but there is no where to do so. That is good and bad for business. On the other hand, everyone I came in contact with was amazing and very kind. But I know, 1st hand, it is nearly impossible to stay happy as a customer in this situation. Ordered on the app and got in the app drive thru line. The non mobile order drive through line was faster than the one I was in. Arrived at 5pm- got my food by 6:30pm. I understand this is a new site but I'd think they'd get their organization act together but they haven't. I think I'm better off driving all the way to Yucaipa and back than waiting in the slowest moving line in blazing desert heat. read more

I've gone here on at least 5 separate occasions, all of which took far too long to receive the food; showed up and placed the order in the drive-thru, and left the restaurant in sometime over an hour or more. The most impressive things about this one though, are: placing an online order and still waiting over an hour, having your order messed up 80% of the time, and you can somehow order extra sauces yet not receive A SINGLE ONE in the meal (I ordered 12 in hopes of receiving a sauce, but I set the bar too high there). If you go to this location, I suggest you set your expectations pretty low so you're never disappointed. read more

By far the worst Chick Fil A ever. Waited 3 hours for my food. And by the time I got home I find out they screwed up the whole order. Missed 4 items. I get it. It's a new store. The line is long I get it. I was only in line for an hour. But then they told me to wait in the reserve parking and i was there for 1hr 1/2. And I waited so long that they closed so I can't even get my food that i was missing. And I can't even get it tomorrow because they are closed on Sundays. I will never go back. Such a waste of time to not even get all the food. It's just not right. If I wait three hours for my order. It should be correct. I Love this place and I've been here before (not this location). They did a fantastic job, the service was great and Michael, the one who took my order while I was in the drive thru, did a good job. He was very nice and funny, I waited for about 1 1/2 hours, not bad considering they just opened. a long wait is to be expected. The order was correct, they were organized and polite the entire time. Poor service! I waited over 30 minutes for nuggets and a sandwich. No fries because the machine was broke. Both the drive through and mobile order lines were completely backed up. There were 5 huge trash bags sitting outside the door where the drive through line is. It was pretty disgusting to have to sit there and see that. Not sure I'll be going back anytime soon. read more

Don't order your food through the app because it takes just as long as if you were ordering through the drive through or dining in. I legit was waiting there for my order, which was ready for pick up, as 3 employees saw me and a manger walked past me 3 times. I had to say excuse me because apparently I'm not visible?? I would rather eat carl's jr or mcdonald's than here. The food is a miss at times. They don't always get it right even when they have a full staff. And boy oh boy, it's worse if you're eating in the evening. So just make your own chicken sandwich at home, the time it takes you to make is the time you'll be waiting for your food there. read more

"Best customer service on the planet!"....So I thought... I had a HORRENDOUS experience with the employee named "ALEX", who might've been a so called "team leader". From the moment I received my order, my items were everywhere except for IN MY BAG. I "dined in" and I had 5 items missing. I walked to the counter and told "ALEX" my situation. Without any hesitation, he demanded I walk him to my table to "prove" to him that my items were missing. As we were walking over I stated to him "You guys forgot half of my order and I'm missing...." Then he instantly had a smart ass remark "OH, I DIDN'T BAG IT..'I' WASN'T THERE TO TAKE YOUR ORDER" and I responded, "WELL I DONT CARE WHO DID IT, YOU REPRESENT THE COMPANY!" Alex had no sympathy or accountability for a mistake that his team/team member made. He had no REMORSE and clearly his actions indicated so. This is the worse Chic-fil - A ever. I knew when they put it out here in Palm Desert it wasn't going to do well. They don't care who they hire. It's so sad to see this happen. The chicken is soggy because they prepare the chicken head of time, it sits to long before the customer arrive at the window. It's just ridiculous. I ate there once and never returned. You can't let chicken sit without proper ventilation in the container, this will cause the chicken to sweat and become soggy. And you should not prepare all of those chicken sandwiches ahead of time, they should be made at the time of order. I go to San Diego and they get it right!!! read more

Stopped in Thursday at 3:30 for a late lunch. Placed order and went and sat down. I started noticing all the people sitting waiting on their food. We easily had to wait 15 minutes for our food. The couple in front of us had to wait another 5-10 minutes after us. The food was good. The lobby was clean. We were so excited when we heard a great chicken place was coming to the Desert, and when we went to try them the nightmare started. From Dinah Shore the line did not look long at all, but once we got in line there was no way to turn around and leave after 2 hrs would beep the horn several times still no one would respond, we had an emergency at home and could not leave. We thought the first thing to do was to call 911 right the guy came with the wrong food, we ordered 4 regular sandwiches and got spicy which we couldn't eat and they would not fix the problem. By then we were s exhausted waiting in line all we wanted to do is go home. We feel by being open 2 months they would of had it together, not so can't tell you how disappointed we are. The Chicken tenders & waffle fries were delicious, once we actually received it. After waiting in line for 20+ minutes we received our order. Thank goodness i checked our order before driving off because we had ordered 1 chicken sandwich, 2 orders of chicken tenders & 3 fries. What we received were the chicken sandwich & the 3 fries. Oh & did I mention the only reason we went to begin with was for the chicken tenders? So then I informed them they were missing the chicken tenders, where i had to pull off to a temporary holding area while they were frying the chicken tenders. They forgot to tell me they were still a good 5 minutes from being done. So we waited in the holding area for another 5 min plus, i then walked over to the drive thru counter to determine what was the hold up. Then i was informed 1.5 more minutes, then an additional minute. No big deal had they tried not to give me my "completed" order to begin with. They had literally 16 people, I counted, filling orders. I've been to many other Chick-fil-As and this was definitely the slowest & least organized. I'd say the new Palm Desert, CA location definitely has some efficiencies to work out before I return. Last but not least, I'd skip the chick-filet-A sandwich in the future. It was just chicken on a bun. No one asked if anything else should be on it or offered. A bit of a disappointment. Happy to see a Chick-fil-A in the area but i'll be waiting a few months before returning. read more

I don't like that they have their employee's outside during this weather. It was raining and extremely cold, I believe that's cruelty. I waited 20 minutes in drive through for a chicken sandwich! PEOPLE! Get over the hype. The bread is soft because a warm sandwich is placed in a foil bag. The chicken is chicken! Carl's Jr is better, the filet is crispy. The pickles are pickles! The special sauce is Russian dressing - Mayo and ketchup. The waffle fries are limp. What in all that is holy makes us wait in line for a simple, basic chicken sandwich? Never again - it just isn't special! read more

We enjoyed dinner from Chick-Fil-A tonight. We used the mobile order drive thru line and found it to be efficient and easy. Our food was delicious and the employee who brought our food out to our car was kind and courteous. We will definitely be back to this location on our next stay in Palm Springs. read more

Overrated and you have kids running this place, service was probably the worst I have ever had. I understand that everyone loves this place and I do to and know there is going to be a wait for the drive thru for your order but this particular Chick-fil-A was horrible. I ordered my meal along with a peppermint shake, waited in line 29 minutes after ordering, when the kid handed me the food and shake, he did just that with no greeting or thank you or your welcome after I thanked him. I noticed he was to busy flirting with the other boy coworker in the drive thru window to show customer service, I had to ask for napkins and a straw (Ca state law) but he acted like it was a inconvenience for him. While driving away the shake was like milk with peppermint because it was melted and food was cold. read more
