We love this Chick Fil A. Out of all the Chick Fil A's in San Diego, Santee is the best. We've been to all of them several time so we would know. Today was a Pajama Party day and the kids got free chicken. So fun! It was super packed, but the line went fast and the while the food was a little slower at being delivered, I was still impressed with how efficient they were despite the crowds. And the whole time they do it with a smile on their face in typical Chick Fil A fashion. Out of all the stores, Santee definitely has the cheeriest staff and we love coming in here. Hot buttery biscuit with a thick piece of chicken. Delicious! Or try the minis... Yummy! Don't forget the hash browns! 2. The classic chicken sandwich. Can't beat the classic, basic, simple, and perfectly delicious! 3. The chicken nuggets or the strips. Get extra Chick Fil-a sauce! That's my favorite sauce. On my last visit I decided to mix it up and try the garlic ranch. If you live garlic and ranch then you would love this! Garlicky! 4. Lastly the Cookies and cream hand spun milkshake! A lot of things have changed in Santee over the past six years and a lot of chicken has been served, by more than just Chick-fil-A! I know sometimes we joke about the plethora of options we have for fast food dining and poultry options in town, but I am very honored each time I'm around the owner of Santee's Chick-Fil-A, Kyle Steck. Kyle is one of those guys who is the boy next door, grown up! For some of you, he really is the boy next door (as I recently discovered he moved in next to some of my friends in town!). Once taking ownership of the store, Kyle jumped right in and started giving back to our city. His earned himself a reputation of being present and helping at all major community functions, and hosting in-house functions for the whole family. His staff is warm and friendly, just like him, and I am pretty certain his attitude is infectious. Kyle is just the right person to uphold the integrity of the Chick-fil-A way. Went here for dinner tonight. I'm glad they opened one in Santee. We ordered a combo #1 (Chicken sandwich, waffle fries, large Coke), a regular chicken sandwich, a spicy chicken sandwich and a medium waffle fries. Total was just over $16.00. We decided to eat there. You place your order and then hang out for a minute or two and they bring out your food on your tray. Now onto the food......... Chicken Sandwich- An old time classic. Buttered bun, pickles and a fried chicken breast. Their signature item and pretty darn tasty. Spicy Chicken Sandwich- Not too spicy but definitely had a kick. It seemed thinner than the regular one but it was more crispy and had a better texture. I liked it a lot and will get this again. Waffle Fries- Standard waffle fries. Maybe could have been a tad crispier but they were good none the less. Coke- Coke products which is always a plus in my book. For just opening, I think they will do fine. Everyone was really friendly and seemed happy to be working there. There was a little bit of chaos but they had people monitoring the line and making sure everything went as smooth as can be for a grand opening basically. I've never eaten at any Chick Fil A, so this was my first. I decided to try their Char-grilled Chicken Club Sandwich which is served with a grilled boneless chicken breast, marinated in their special seasonings, and served on a toasted Golden Wheat bun with dill pickle chips, Provolone cheese, smoked applewood bacon, lettuce and tomatoes. Ahh well, I have been here a handful of times and after each time, I wonder why. It's just ok. In fact this last time I got bad heartburn after we each ordered the spicy deluxe combo w/ lemonade. My favorite part of it all was the potatoes. Nothing fancy. Just a different shape. But, not overcooked. Anyway, the spicy chicken is just the same as the regular chicken with a coating of some spicy seasoning added to it. Ok flavor, maybe a bit too salty. The meat is a nice, generously-sized piece of white breast meat. Tastes good. Not greasy. But also not juicy. So it's great for those who like their chicken like that. Don't be intimidated by a long line. Goes faster than you think. They do well expediting orders through two drive ups. And if it's still extra busy, they'll even have guys out there to walk up to the car windows for your order. So, I appreciate how organized and efficient they are. Their public relations are good. But, I'm not sure what gave me bad heartburn. May have been something about the spicy seasoning? Major disappointment for this place! Chick-Fil-A has always been a place in which I can count of fresh food, that has all changed! I went here a few weeks ago and my fries were cold and half cook, that I could live with. However, I went here last night and salad was NOT at all what I ordered or ask for. I ordered a Cobb salad and received a southwest salad, the chicken was disgusting. Not sure what is talking place, but I won't be going back for a while. Man! People certainly do love their Chick-Fil-A. Becky and I are not among them. The first time we had Chick-Fil-A was the last time we had Chick-Fil-A. This is food? For real? We heard all the hype. Most of our friends are fans. It's got to be good, right? Wrong. We each ordered a Deluxe sandwich, a Spicy Deluxe sandwich and Waffle Fries to go. We arrived home and opened the bag to find four little sandwiches and the usual sized box of fries. What exactly was it that made these sandwiches "deluxe"? The extremely dry and flavorless, room temperature chicken patty? The oddly squishy bun? Perhaps it was the cheese like substance fresh out of its cellophane wrapper? "Cheese", by the way, that refused to melt at all. We took a bite of each sandwich. We literally could not differentiate between the spicy sandwich and the regular. They tasted exactly the same. Spicy? This drab, tasteless, uninspired sandwich was as spicy as the regular one was deluxe, not at all. Like the cellophane "cheese" on the regular, the pepper jack (if that is truly what it was) refused to melt. I finally doused my sandwich in Tapatio hot sauce to no avail. The fries were mushy. Not crispy at all. They, like the sandwiches, were barely room temperature. It took us three minutes to drive home. There is no excuse for our items not to be piping hot. I have an idea that the food we were served had been sitting for a while. We ate a few bites of each, then tossed the rest. Lesson learned. Thanks, but no thanks, Chick-Fil-A. read more

I waited years until I finally ordered from Chick-fil-A with a $8 delivery fee. This fast food restaurant is extremely overhyped. I ordered a vanilla milkshake, waffles fries, mac and cheese, and chicken nuggets. The only thing worth consuming was the milkshake. The fries were soft and not good. The Mac and cheese was just basic Mac and cheese to me. I wasn't impressed by it. The chicken nuggets were okay but I wasn't expecting them to be popcorn nuggets. This is the second time I've gone to this location and only because it's the closest to my work but I rather stick with going to the ones by Chula Vista. The drive through was a decent wait time for it being "fastest drive thru". When I started eating my sandwich I notice that the bread was not fresh and felt like they had the bag open from the day before. I ended up just eating the chicken patty and moved on to my nuggets next. I was then disappointed because it felt like the nuggets were either left overs from yesterday or have been sitting out since the morning.
