Going at lunch we ordered a couple of plates to test out the cuisine. First on deck were the Chicken Wings. A 5 piece order, they had this delicious sweet, thick, soy flavored sauce. OMG were they good. A touch sticky and not quite as crunchy as I would have preferred, they were indeed delicious. We also ordered the Bulgogi Combination Plate. SO MUCH FOOD. The salad was amazing, from the crunch of the cabbage to the flavors of the homemade dressing. "Kevin" came out and said that the dressing is homemade from a recipe passed down through his family. So good. The combination comes with Miso Soup. The soup was good, with bits of seaweed and a few chunks of tofu. Solid. The combination comes with a generous portion of Tempura, vegetables as well as two pieces of Tempura Shrimp. The Tempura Shimp was fantastic, with batter being light, flavorful, with a welcoming crunch to the taste. The Vegetable Tempura, while good, was not as satisfying as the Shrimp. It could be because the Tempura was sitting in the Bulgogi sauce, making the Tempura a bit soggy. No matter, still quite good. The Bulgogi was good, plenty of protein and LOTS of vegetables. I really appreciated the balance of meat and veggies. I would have liked a bit more flavor from my Bulgogi but this dish was totally fine and I would definitely order again. Kevin's Korean Kitchen is a small, family owned and operated business, situated in an older strip mall. There were plenty of seats/tables. Normally I would NEVER suggest peeking into the kitchen of your favorite Asian Restaurant. Just don't do it. Kevin's was oddly clean. I mean sparkling clean. I had to use the bathroom and the facilities were nothing short of sparkling. As I returned from the bathroom, I would see the kitchen, it was equally clean and organized. What a unexpected surprise. If you're looking for simple but good Korean, give Kevin's a try.
