We entered the restaurant at 7:40pm. They close at 10pm. We were advised that they would be closing because she was alone, she being a middle aged woman with her hair pulled tightly into a bun. No name tag. After watching her speak condescendingly to the young woman and her daughter it was our turn to be talked down to. First we ordered a quesadilla. Immediately she said, "You're lucky my quesadilla machine isn't off!" Then I ordered my bowl and was advised that the extra meat would cost extra, again, very condescendingly. Of course it's extra, I asked for extra. I found she would speak down to us then cover it with a "honey" or a bright smile. She also made sure to point out that she was alone, there was a man cooking and two ladies cleaning the dining area. She made sure to specifically say, "THEY...are not allowed up front." They, being two young Hispanic women. I felt very uncomfortable for them, they clearly looked intimidated. I have been to this location several times and this may be the last for this location if this is how they treat their employees and customers. If I wanted to be talked down to I would have gone back to middle school. I would also like to mention we noticed the way she was speaking to people as soon as we walked in the door. As we walked out the door she shouted out to us, "You're Welcome!" We were not rude and did say thank you to begin with, there was no reason to shout out at us like that. Very uncomfortable situation. Not even mentioning the food as we ended up leaving with our food, it was way too tense to stay and enjoy a meal. read more

This place is really hit or miss, and it is easy to tell which you will get: If the Asian-looking guy in his 30's is going to make your meal, do yourself a favor and just turn around and walk out. The guy is nice enough, but he must be the owner because he skimps on the meat like nobody else on staff does. I gave him the benefit of the doubt on the first try, but tonight (3-4-26) he did me dirty again. What an absolute nightmare! We went to get our usual order and went inside to do it. Your employee was one of the worst people I ever had to endure while ordering. She was yelling at the girl in the front of us. I felt so bad for her. She kept telling her she was not ordering right. She was throwing bowls around and saying you're saying it wrong. ALWAYS check your receipt at this location. The last 2 out of 2 times we ate here they overcharged me for an item that I did not purchase. The first time they did that, the staff did not want to provide me with a receipt when I questioned the amount..but eventually refunded the amount they over charged. The second time the employee said, I don't know how that item got on your bill and refunded it for me. The food was pretty good. But it looked like they were having a hard time keeping the ingredients stocked. Good fast food outside the realm of chicken sandwiches and hamburgers. The establishment is clean and the employees are efficient and cordial. Two of us split one carnitas burrito and an order of of queso and cheese, and we were just the right kind of full. However we usually split meals so this may not work for everyone's appetite! The total cost for the pork carnitas burrito (with guac) and the chips and quest, and one fountain drink was $16 and some change. Not something I'm going to fork out for lunch all the time, but when the urge for a tasty and fast burrito calls, I would be back. If you just want a nice snack, the chips are crispy and the white queso is flavorful and satisfying enough too! The burrito meat, rice, and black beans all was flavorful and hearty. Today I had an unpleasant experience with the manager of this store. She was an older Caucasian women and was aggressive towards customers as she was yelling and demanding from paying customers. On top of that she was skimping on all our portions, as she barely gave half spoon fulls for the nachos. I finished my food still hungry and usually I can't get more than half of my nachos down the hatch. Overall disappointed with this service and portions. The service in particular is what's really special, employees David, Trent, and Trevor (pretty much the whole staff) always remember me and my order. Wow. I'm impressed with the level of unprofessional, irreverent, and rude language of the employees. I'm sitting here with burrito and chips and hearing language that is horrible. While I was in line, I heard the f-bomb like 4 times, the s-word a bunch, and now hearing n-. It's pretty sickening. If they showed half the care in how they prepared my food as they do in the passion of their language, it'd be great! But it seems like the 15 people who have gone through the line over the last 30 minutes have been a burden instead the ones paying their paychecks. Three groups of people came in and asked why the place was so empty. I felt like saying, "Ooo ... ask me, I'll tell you!" There's an interesting wall hanging I'm posting of picture of in this review. I never thought I would say this: I now like QDOBA more than Chipotle. I think it is exclusively due to the fact that I discovered their "naked nachos," which is a huge bowl that one can fill with meat, cheese, beans, rice, QUESO, and other goodies with the chips on the side. By "on the side," I mean, "in a paper bag in a serving portion generous enough for two people." Yes, I know that this sounds like a Chipotle burrito bowl with a side of chips, but it costs less and is tastier and comes in a container that is more size-appropriate for chip-dipping because it's a hexagon and not an oval. Also the chips are delightfully saltier and the queso does not cost extra. Naked nachos for dinner are my treat yo self take home dinner once every two weeks, and the young people who work here are the nicest. They are genuinely friendly, provide good service, and move people through the line quickly. The seating area in this restaurant is nicer than Chipotle's seating area because it has booths and booths are the best. There are also tables for those folks who don't love booths. read more

First time here, dad and I decided to try it out amongst the other fast food joints in the shopping center. Horrible service right from the beginning, it's 10:15 am and I can't be served a normal protein bowl until 10:30?? The beans were right there! How is anyone supposed to know that if they haven't visited? If that is some sort of corporate rule then it should be amended to better suit customer needs. And if certain products or items aren't available then employees can just say that. What I wanted was available and ready, I was beyond disappointed but also wasn't trying to argue with employees doing their job and following the rules. The eggs are over cooked, the steak is tough, the potatoes are alright. As they should, considering they're processed, pre-seasoned and fried. I have been a Qdoba fan for years. Just a few weeks ago I saw a post for their new menu items - tacos! I decided since I love their burritos this new offering would be worth a try. I stopped in after running a few errands. When I entered there was only one group in line in front of me. I was only waiting a short time before I heard an employee apologize for the wait and thank me for my patience. Nice touch but unnecessary as I had only been waiting a short time. I decided to order 3 tacos for $9.00. The size of the tacos made the price reasonable. I opted for the Drunken Chicken (no avocado), Triple Threat and The Gladiator. Despite having these recently added to their menu the staff was able to make them pretty easily only checking or asking questions a few times. After I made my purchase the cashier suggested the Two Timer. I read the description and wished I had opted for that one instead. Oh well. One more to try in the future. The ingredients taste fresh and the meat options always taste good. I typically chose their shredded beef over steak but the steak tasted great in these tacos. The Triple Threat was my favorite. The bacon added a nice crunch and the 3-Cheese Queso is always a hit. The fajita veggies are a great addition to any of their menu items but added to this taco it made it the clear winner. When I order a burrito I have leftovers for a lunch or dinner the following day. With the tacos it was definitely a 1 meal portion. Maybe two if you aren't very hungry. I also reccomend grabbing a side of chips and queso. Their queso is ridiculously flavorful and their chips are fresh. Never too heavily salted or oily. I always ask for extra chips because you always wind up with way more queso than chips. read more

There is always missing ingredients in the food items, when the other locations are out of things they disable the item online, but this location STRUGGLES to do simple things like that. Yummy! I used to visit this chain of restaurants quite often when the owner of the company I worked for owned five Qdoba locations. That was almost four years ago since I ate in one and it was at this Qdoba location in Reno was the first time in a long time I am able to taste their delicious food once again. Funny because now I work for the company that does their payroll and is one of our clients. I digress, anyway, I had the chicken quesadilla and I really liked it. It came served in four pieces and the portion was nice size, very filling, made right in front of you. We got here around 1:30p on a Friday and there was still a long line. The place was kept clean. My wife brought home one of their taco salads made with brisket a couple weeks ago. It's surprisingly good for fast food. I mean, it's Qdoba. What I really wish it would be is Chipotle. But there isn't one in the most southern part of Reno. I honestly choose Del Taco over this joint (that's in the same shopping center) based on price. For about eight bucks (!!) you can get a burrito. No chips. No drink. Just a burrito. For $8 at Del Taco, you can get EIGHT burritos. Make sure to be part of their rewards program if you're eating there often. We've scored some free burritos because my husband used the catering for his work. Otherwise, you'd need to rack up some big points to earn a free burrito. Food was ok, the staff seemed pretty young, a young lady the made the order was pleasant, quesadilla cheese wasn't fully melted. We walked in and there was only one older lady working. She was sweet and welcoming and took our order. We had about 4 things were ordered all while a customer was waiting behind, which told her to take care of first but she insisted to do ours first. When we finished the order she went off about how the guy was waiting for 10 minutes and I asked her if she has any other employees working but she said no. Then a little girl who looked like a teenager was making an order in the back and decided to put her 2 cents in and say that we can apply online and that we should stop complaining. A team or B team...it is all about the luck of a draw. Some days you get the good team some days you get...erh...the second string players. Always surprised at how inconsistent this place can be. For the most part the key ingredients usually taste the same. The quality to which they are put together, and the end product vary greatly from day to day let alone from dish to dish. What I find even more interesting is that they serve alcohol, and that the parent company is Jack-in-the-Box. Very interesting diversity of business. I will usually get either a craft two menu item or a chicken quesadilla or chicken nachos. They also have a good naked chicken burrito, and again you can do extra meat if you are inclined to do so. On the bright side, this restaurant almost always provides fresh tasting ingredients. I am happy to say my order has always been tasty and made as I requested. This qdoba is a far cry from the sparks location. They are not as friendly and they are slower. Unfortunately they charge $2.75 extra for a decent amount of steak. We never have this problem at the Disc location. The tables were not all clean which was surprising considering only two other people were dining and they seem the have a full staff.
