I have been meaning to check out a Chick-fil-A once they got to the Seattle area (3 locations around Seattle) and decided I would check out the Tacoma one first. Since it only opened a month or so ago I had heard the line at this location was out the door on many occasions. I went on a Wednesday at 6:00 pm and had only a 2-minute wait! The location was in a weird corner lot with minimal parking. The furniture store next door even had signs posted saying not to park there and had hired a parking enforcer to basically stand there, wait until you park in one of the furniture store lots, and then give you a ticket. Just park across the street and walk over. Much easier than getting a ticket. The line for the drive through was long but they had multiple employees standing along the line helping customers, which was great. I got the original chicken sandwich with the waffle fries and it was delicious! Great chicken meat, great service and super clean place! I was also seriously impressed by their Chick-fil-A sauce. I wanted that sauce on my sandwich, to dip my fries in and basically just to have as a side dish. I will be back to try the rest of their menu. No questions about that. read more

Can never go wrong at Chick-fil-A...with anything on the menu to include the Lemonades...The only problem here are the people (not the staff...they are great, but rather the customers...there are too many of them). Horrible parking, crazy small lot on a hill with hard in let and outlets...no idea whose idea top put this over the top popular fast food in this location! Went on a Saturday a bit after ten, and we were trying to figure out what kind of sale the store next to them was having-- there were people managing traffic a block away. Nope. That was the line for the drive-through. Apparently everybody who use to live where these places are more common really, really wanted a good chicken sandwich. We ended up parking a block away and sending someone in to get takeout, but it was almost surreal-- all the people in that incredibly long drive-through line were SMILING. And chatting with people waiting. The people waiting to order inside were even more cheerful about waiting. I was really surprised to see that Chick-fil-A was making a major effort to move the lines along-- they had people with mobile scanners going down the drive-through line, taking orders and swiping credit cards, and were even being really smart about getting people's orders taken quickly and politely. read more

We finally went to see what the fuss was about. We went early to avoid the absurd blocks long lines that we've passed in the passed. We had to wait in line for 15+ minutes, anyway. All that time and our orders were both wrong when we got home. The food is fine. Seasoned well and significantly tastier than McDonald's. Also, significantly more expensive. For the time and the money, I expect the order to at least be correct. We won't go out of our way to go again. read more

I have been trying to avoid fast food lately so when I do need to hit a drive through for convenience I dry and stick with places that have healthier options. Chik Fila is one of the only fast food restaurants that still offers grilled nuggets. They are always tender and juicy and just what I am looking for on a low carb day. I know when they first opened they were always super busy so they had the drive through line wrap around the furniture store. Now that they aren't as busy it's pointless to have some guy standing outside when you have a loud speaker and you still drive all the way around the building instead of taking a left into the line. I don't know if it's just me but seems like a drive through should be a no brainer. read more

First of all this is one of the worst locations in Tacoma, located at one of the busiest intersections in Tacoma. I find it very difficult to enter and exit this location before Chick Fil A even opened. I don't understand why others are rating 5 stars. I have been to several locations in the Phoenix and Boise locations. I find the Chicken sandwiches to be quite flavorless. Only positive thing the sandwiches are always hot fresh and moist. read more

This place isn't bad but I remember it being much better five years ago, the last time I had it. This location looked to be new, I don't know when It opened but it was clean and even with the lines they were able to get people through the lines pretty quick. There is a small play area inside and the parking lot isn't very large especially for the crowds I saw. However, there is parking behind the Ashley furniture in the same area. It seemed to be at a really busy part of town and is close the the off ramp of the freeway so it's pretty hard to miss. read more

We stopped here on the way back and it was crowded but we got our food fast and there was plenty of areas to sit (the dining room is huge). We got the chicken nuggets and waffle fries. This location opened a little over a year ago and I've probably been here about 40 times. The customer service is top notch, as expected, and the food is the highest quality you can receive from a fast food restaurant. This is by far my favorite fast food restaurant in the Tacoma area. I always get the nuggets or a sandwich meal, sometimes I change the side item from fries to chicken noodle soup which is wonderful to dip the sandwich in. The food is consistently hot, fresh and delicious. Drinks are always perfect. The new app allows you to accumulate points and earn treats. I love coming here and seeing the tables filled and people enjoying themselves. On Memorial Day they had a table set up for fallen service members. This restaurant is a class act. read more

Honestly pretty disappointed for all the hype I hear about chic-fil-a. Came to this location cause I just moved to the neighborhood and for years everyone says how good it is. The food we ordered was wrong unfortunately ordered three spicy chicken deluxe sandwiches and only one was what we ordered the other two weren't spicy just plain chicken sandwiches. I still ate them they were decent chicken sandwiches but nothing like the hype I hear and fry's were under-seasoned but their sauces are pretty fire. Yeah! The Chik has finally made it to the NW!!! This is the place to go should you have a craving for fast, southern style chicken. Nobody does it better in the fast food chicken arena. My two cents....? Stick w/the original chicken vs. the spicy. Waffle fries to write home about, grilled & fried chicken salads to die for, lovely lemonade, sweet tea (actually cut 1/2 w/the unsweet) & a tasty soft serve vanilla cone. Also, do try their breakfast menu.....I especially love me some Chik Fil A biscuits!!!! Would give 5 stars if location was better. Terribly busy, congested intersection. You may want to wait until the "new restaurant hoopla" calms down though. Expect 15 mins traffic wait time just getting TO the driveway, another 15 in the drive through, & braving the inside crowd?..expect 15 or more, if you even found a parking spot! We eat at this location regularly but today was just awful. My husband ordered at the counter to take the food to go at about 140pm. The person who took his order and made the drinks seemed like he was on drugs. Part of the order was missing and the order we did receive wasn't right. My husband was beyond mad by the time he got home to say the least. His experience was so bad I doubt we will be coming back to this location in the future. read more

We got there at 9:35pm and went to the drive-thru. We left at 10:20pm. By the time we got to the window they not even had our order which I had order online over 40 mins ago. They made us pull to the parking lot and wait more time. The food is great but the customer service has dr lined. Not sure if it's lack of attention or lack of staff. Also another thing I noticed that while we were in the line waiting 5 mins before it was technically close time, someone finally got out to take orders while there were more and more cars getting piled out instead of doing it earlier to avoid more wait times. Even the person in front of us who also was there for a while she didn't order online. She waited until she got to the booth to order and when she got there, no one answered the telecom service. So she had to drive to the pick up area and finally put her order in which could have been avoided if someone was answering the booth. Besides Jimmy Johns, this is the only fast food I will eat. The chicken is real fillet, not pressed together with rubberbands! The waffle fries are good, though the serving size seems off. I split a large and wished I had gotten my own. Cost....a bit more than I would think fast food should be, but there again, it's not garbage, so maybe you just get what you pay for. Since no one in this state had ever seen a Chick--fil-A before, I had to wait almost 5 months before we could even get in the parking lot. but we eventually found the right time when the "new" had worn off enough to make it reasonable. The drive through is still out of control. But if there's one thing I can't stand, it's a drive through. So we went inside anyways and found a very short line. The food is good, it's exactly what you'd expect from a Chik-fil-A. I leave it at a 3 star based purely on my overall lack of excitement for any fast food joint in general. I'm just not a fast food kind of guy. But if I have to, this is a place that I'd hit before even thinking about the rusted arches. read more
