On top of that, their food is consistently good -- fresh, flavorful, and usually exactly what you expect when you're craving Whataburger. That said... tonight was a little off. We ordered like we normally do, but when we got home and opened everything up, the portions were noticeably smaller -- like pint-sized compared to what we usually get. The biscuit in particular was the biggest surprise. It looked like it missed the memo -- barely any filling and just not what you expect when you're paying full price. Definitely not the usual "loaded and worth it" situation. Not enough to completely turn us away (because again, they've earned some loyalty), but enough to say it out loud. Still a solid spot, still appreciate everything they do for the community -- just hoping tonight was a one-off and not a new normal.

The only thing that ever comes out hot are onion rings for whatever reason. Today I ordered a number 6 and the toast was cool to the touch and the whole thing felt like it had just been sitting on a shelf for over an hour. This had been the experience for me and everyone else I know that drives into this mirage of a fast food joint thinking that they are going to leave with a hot and fresh meal. I wouldn't complain so much if it wasn't so expensive to eat fast food, but alas... Here we are.

The burgers taste like actual burgers--fresh, juicy, and made to order. The fries are cut right in front of you (which still feels like a little flex), and everything comes out hot and fast even when the place is packed. And of course, if you know about the not-so-secret menu, ordering "Animal Style" is basically a rite of passage. What really stands out though is the service. The staff is always friendly, the place is spotless, and the line somehow moves way faster than it looks like it should. It's one of the few fast food spots where you can tell the employees actually take pride in what they're doing. Great burgers, great service, and prices that somehow still feel reasonable in 2026. In-N-Out continues to prove that when you do the basics really well, you don't need anything fancy.

This place was on point and delicious. The fries were great! And the burgers were delicious. Fast forward. I've came here quite a bit and it's just gotten worse every time. It almost seems as though the buns were stale before they grilled them and it makes the edges of the bun very hard. The burgers have a weird taste to them now. Whatever they did. Undo it. As for the staff. Always polite and welcoming! Never had one bad experience with the staff here. And the whole old school burger spot vibe is great! Going to take a break for a while but hopefully the food gets back to how it was.

Whenever venturing around our vast country, I like to frequent businesses that are not found where…read moreI live; naturally, I saw Portillo's (a native business from Chicago) and knew I had to try 'em out! First off, the outside as well as inside of the establishment is beautiful! When you walk in, the restaurant is beautifully decorated; it's a cross between a fast-food establishment and a restaurant dining-style. I believe another Yelper also mentioned that fact as well. One can order in two options: using the self-kiosk, or going to the counter where there is someone there to take your order. Having both options available is rather convenient. For my food, I got the Famous Meal #1: Italian Beef Sandwich. However, I came prepared: it was going to be personalized to be the perfect meal. FIRST: make it big ($2), then add sweet and hot peppers ($1.98), mozz cheese ($.89), and ordered slightly wet. For my sides, I opted for the large onion rings ($4.99), and in addition --- this is A LOT -- I got the famous Chocolate Cake Shake (additional $6.19). If you were going to get a normal meal, it would probably cost you about $14.57. Mine -- with all the add-ons? $26.88. Take that into consideration. How was the food? Portillo's is definitely the experience many Chicagoans have heaped about. The "dipped" Italian Beef Sandwich was generously portioned, and if I had anything to comment-on --- it would be adding more sweet + hot peppers to the sandwich. Besides that, everything else was spot-on. On to that famous milk-shake: if you're a first-timer DO IT. How does it taste? It honestly tastes like a "real" version of a frosty from Wendy's --- taste wise. At least we know what's in this milkshake: Ice Cream, Milk, and a slice of chocolate cake. It was thick, creamy, and hit the spot. All-in-all, I totally recommend Portillo's if there is a location near you! It's definitely an American institution and is worthy of the hype.

We approached the counter and placed our order then waited for our number to be called. The establishment is fairly large with brightly colored decor and table/booth seating options. It was clean and the customer service was exceptional. There was a lady calling out orders over the intercom. She used quirky call outs for each order number which was a nice added touch to the experience! I ordered the Italian beef with melted cheese and it was delicious! The bread was nicely toasted, meat was juicy and flavorful and the cheese brought it all together! Highly recommend!

I'm the one that was mistaken. With a Caniac craving, I arrived past 9pm on a Sunday to the busiest Cane's I've ever see. The drive-thru line wrapped around the building. The parking lot remained full. The amount of vehicles circling the building hoping to find a spot caused mild traffic disturbances. Waze marked the lead in road as red for standstill traffic- okay, I'm kidding with that one, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Among all of this, the employees of Cane's stayed strong. Like a well oiled machine they powered through the endless line. They were efficient for sure, but I was most impressed by their care and customer service. This team is truly running like a well oiled machine. As far as the food, Cane's is Cane's. If you're new to this concept, you really only need to keep two things in mind. 1. They serve 4 main items, fried chicken tenders (yes, only tenders), crinkle fries, coleslaw, and Texas toast. These 4 items are offered in a handful of variations and combinations. 2. No matter which combo tickles your pickle, enjoy it with Cane's sauce. In addition to a basic requirement for the chicken, it also pairs well with the fries, their Texas toast, and most any protein or savory bread you have lying around the house. Long story short, if you can handle the crowds, you've earned your chicken.
