While traveling in northern Kentucky, he stumbled upon one of these places, The Farmstand Market & Cafe. Farmstand offers comfort food with a farm-to-table focus served in a cozy space with a bar and attached market. We started with the Goetta Hanky Panky Dip. This was made with cheesy goetta, bagel chips, pumpernickel bread, and light rye served in a cast iron skillet. The dip had a good sausage flavor with salt and some light spice while being cheesy, creamy, and full of flavor. The bagel chips were very crispy but were not served warm. The pumpernickel and rye were dry. Each complimented the dip, adding texture to the bite. My wife had the Reuben Sandwich. This sandwich came with sliced corned beef, homemade Thousand Island, pickled pig sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese on light rye with bacon ranch pasta salad. The pasta salad was cooked spot on while also being creamy. The bacon added crunch and saltiness to the salad. The rye had a great toast, and the Thousand Island was tangy and creamy. The pastrami was dry but had a good salty flavor. The sauerkraut was crunchy and had a good sour flavor cutting through the salty meat and the sweet dressing. The cheese was gooey and nutty and added flavor to each bite. I sampled the French dip sandwich and Mulligatawny soup. This was prepared with a sliced top round with provolone on a French roll. The soup was prepared with rice, chicken, carrots, onions, celery, lentils and spices. The chicken was very tender, the rice was cooked well, and the vegetables added texture to the rice. The soup was flavorful, had a wonderful aroma, and had a good salt content. The top round was thin and offered good flavor and chew. The roll was fresh and had a good chew paired with the ooey and gooey cheese with an excellent buttery flavor. The au jus had good flavor but was slightly salty, which overpowered it. Farmstand offers grilled cheeses, hot sandwiches, burgers, salads, appetizers, soups and main entrees. They also serve beer and have a full bar. The servers were pleasant and knowledgeable. The Fat Man says that The Farmstand Market & Cafe is Fat Man Approved with 1 chin.

I go in to pick up, the lawn is busy but ZERO customers in the restaurant. No greeting, just clear annoyance that I'm there, clearly ignoring me and as multiple employees walk right past me. So, I TOLD the young gal I was there to pick up my pizza. She asked my name .... typed on the computer then checked in the back, immediately stating it would be up soon. Ummm it was to be READY at 8:10 and it was 8:30P. So rather than pick up my paid in full pizza and hand it to me, they let me wait. So I INFORMED the young gal it was to be ready at 8:10 - she gave me some bs and finally brought my pizza .... I get home and yes it's cold (yes I was late) so why make me wait when there are NO customers lol hats off to the chefs tho because it was made excellent with no disappointments. Maybe you should consider them up front .... as they do their job. Does Dewey's even train their people? Literally every employee (there were about 10-12) walking in circles ...... just appeared to be stoned, ignorant or complete idiots. Manager was MIA for the gentlemen that came in looking for keys ..... moral of my rant ... training and supervision that they know how to acknowledge customers, the people that pay their salary. Customer service would be wild! End rant.

There is the option to order at the counter, or at one of the self serve kiosks. As there was someone at the counter, we opted for one of the self serve kiosks. When clicking on each item there are options for more information about it. One of the drink options was listed as unavailable, but after we ordered, when we went to fill our cups it was in fact available, and in working order. Food was in the pickup window quickly. As we were in aa hurry, that was great. I immediately started eating my squash soup. Soup was barely warm. It is a sweet squash soup. Tosted Frontega Chicken sandwich was kind of there. They went light on most of the fillings. One of my companions ordered a salad. That looked amazing. They went heavy on those toppings. The bread served with the soup was my favorite part of the meal. If looking for a quite place to work this seems to be a popular one. More than half of the patrons during our visit had either laptops open, or had papers spread across their tables. There is a fireplace in the dining area that creates a nice warmth on cold days.
