I also got the french fries, which were excellent, especially dipped in the sauce they serve with the chicken. I can't remember the name of the sauce, but it was really good! Always nice to see someone fulfilling their passion. We walked in on a random weekday after 7pm for our first time. We had scoped the menu and knew we wanted the Sliders and the Mac and cheese, saw their "preferred" spice level and decided to roll with that. I pass by here every other Friday to take my daughter to her dad's, and finally am getting the chance to try chicks 500 degrees! The number one thing that stood out first and foremost is the customer service from (I'm assuming the owner or manager) . He takes pride in making his customers happy and it really shows. We tried the 3 piece meal and the sandwich today. Prices are pretty decent for the big tenders. The chicken tenders are the size of chicken breast! The chicken was good, it was big, juicy, and seasoned up pretty well. They offer a Nashville sauce which is like a spicy mayo, which was good, and also jalapeños cream sauce. It looked tasty but didn't really taste like much. The ranch I was not a fan of, not sure if it's house made or store bought but tasted store bought. I've always said someone must've done studies or surveys on the people of Sac because why is there a new chicken sandwich business opening up seemingly every other month? Like for a period of time it was almost at Dutch Bros level's of grand openings. However, the opening of Chick's 500 degrees is different. Different like they actually care about what they're serving and the customer experience. While they certainly didn't invent the 2 slider with a side of fries combo, I'd go so far as to say they get pretty dang close to perfecting it. At a price point even lower than their competitors, their execution of the hot chicken sandwich is packed with flavor and spice all without being overly oily and greasy. That extends to their fries as well which manage to keep a nice crispy exterior while still giving a satisfying bite. It's challenging setting yourself apart in an already saturated hot chicken sandwich market, but it's safe to say, Chick's 500 degrees is definitely heating things up and rising to the occasion - 1 degree at a time. read more

Why is this place ONLY 4.7 stars? This is literally the best hot chicken experience in Nor -Cal. The owner doesn't skimp on quality nor portions and he exclusively uses hand-cut halal Crescent chicken. Anyone who knows the halal industry, knows Chicks 500 is paying 3x the price for their inventory compared to other fast-growing chicken spots who use low quality mass-machine cut Wayne Farms chicken and cheap spices. This guy is evening using premium for his spice mix. I love how transparent the owner is. Food wise: The jalapeno crema sauce is a million dollar sauce. The fries, perfectly seasoned and crispy. Chicken is juicy and thick (thank you Crescent!). I wish this place was a little closer to South Sac so I could visit every week! The owner ans managers are all super welcoming and hospitable. Cheese wrap should be featured on National TV. It's that good. There are people complaining here about prices and giving this place low ratings who are still coming back with their heads down ecause it's that good! Just up your ratings, bro! We came here for the soft opening last night. It was busy, but not too crowded nor too long of a wait. They had 3-4 TVs playing basketball...2 of them playing the Kings game, so that made me a happy camper. They also have cute decor and animated Christmas themed art. I decided to order the #2 - 2 "sliders" and fries. Thank goodness the bf heard me order and asked if they were actually sliders or regular size sandwiches - the worker said they are regular size...so me and bf were able to split the meal ($16.99). I ordered one of "Our fave" medium heat level and then one step above - a little spicier. They were tolerable, but the spicier one did get me off guard on a couple bites. Also got some ranch on the side (free) which was jalapeno ranch and they also included their chicken sauce. Son got the #1 sandwich and chicken tender - both with no heat with fries and 2 chicken sauces included. We thought all the food was pretty good and would return. Only feedback we have is to add extra free pickle(s) on the side (or at least offer to the customer) and also the chick sauce was a little bland.
