So on the day of the event I saw them setting up in the back lot and boy did it smell pretty good. They were serving over 200 people at this event so my expectations were held in check. This is what they served that day and what I thought about them. Tri-Tip-My favorite item of the event-perfectly made, seasoned well, textured perfectly-left me with a smoky taste in my mouth for hours-9.25/10 item BBQ Chicken-I'm a pretty harsh bbq chicken critic and I was more than pleasantly surprised on this one-tasted great-smoky flavor-juicy-a solid piece of meat-8.1/10 item Potato Salad-another surprise on the high quality taste here-tangy yet rich, very creamy, potatoes held their shape-I enjoyed it thoroughly-7.75/10 item Baked Beans-They were just ok-they tasted good when mixed with the potato salad-I'm not a baked beans guy historically,so I'm the wrong audience for this dish-7.0/10 item. Dinner Rolls-Soft and tasty-got the job done and made for a great vessel for a tri tip slider that I enjoyed-7.5/10 item All the dishes were self serve except for the meats,so was tough not to go too hard on the sides considering I was in line with 200 people. Overall I really enjoyed the food Daddy O's served at this event, enough so that I will definitely go out of my way and make it out to their location so I can try more of their delicious food. So far,I recommend them

They have kiosks to order the food. Plenty of seating in the food Court as well as bathrooms. Everything looks new and clean. Comfortable environment. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches. The sandwiches looked so good we almost didn't want to eat them haha. The Seoul morning sandwich was incredible. A lot of flavors going on. We got it with bacon. But there's so many flavors happening. You could just order it without any meat and it would still be delicious. The Korean egg drop sandwich was mouthwatering as well. Totally different from the Seoul sandwich. We got it with sausage. Scrumptious. The eggs were fluffy and the sandwich was made to perfection. To be honest. I think these could be some of the best breakfast sandwiches in the city. Just incredible. The service was good. They were very busy other orders. Staff is extremely friendly and gave me a tip for a burger I should try next time. If the burgers taste as good as the breakfast then I'm in for a treat. They also have wings and tenders. This is a must try spot.

The grill plates were always changed like in every 15 minutes or so. You always have a clean grill to cook on. The place was nice and really well lit. The place looked like industrial decoration, but mainly for the air extraction vents on every table. And these extraction vents were working very well. Gangnam Ave has been my absolute favorite KBBQ spot for years, and after trying several places…read morearound Sacramento, this one still tops them all. Honestly, it's so good that I haven't even felt the need to keep searching for another go-to. I've visited with small groups of 3-4 people and also larger groups of 6-10, and the experience has remained consistently great overall. One thing I like about Gangnam Ave is how their pricing works. Instead of the typical lunch vs. dinner menu, they offer Option A or Option B, where some premium meats are excluded from the cheaper option. It's basically the same concept as lunch/dinner pricing, but I appreciate that it isn't tied to the time of day. For reference, they open at 4pm on weekdays and 12pm on weekends, which feels pretty reasonable to me since KBBQ is usually more of a late lunch or dinner type of meal anyway. The variety of meats is one of the main reasons I love coming here. When I do AYCE, I'm going all in -- usually 4-5 rounds -- so I'm not trying to stick with just basic bulgogi. Gangnam Ave offers things you don't always see at other spots like small and large intestines, pork jowl, beef tongue, and spicy baby octopus, and the marinades here for some of the meats are flavorful. I've eaten at other KBBQ spots over the years for different reasons (my sister even worked at Oz for several years), but Gangnam Ave will always have a special place in my stomach. The appetizers are also solid. Their corn cheese is easily my favorite -- instead of a flat dish with watery corn and melted cheese tossed on top, they give you individual foil cups so you can throw it on the grill and melt it perfectly yourself. I'm lactose intolerant and still order it every single time. The steamed egg is always fluffy and never overcooked, and it pairs perfectly with the meats. I also usually order their soondubu; I'm not overly picky about tofu soup, but as long as it isn't watered down, I'm happy -- and theirs always hits the spot. Their drink menu is small but fun, especially if you like soju. They have some mixed soju drinks, and there's a strawberry + Sprite one with a strawberry-infused ice cube called Super Shy that has become my go-to whenever I visit. Sweet, bubbly, and dangerously easy to drink. Now for the meat itself: it comes out raw, of course, so the final result depends on how well your group can grill. If you've got someone in your group who knows what they're doing, you really can't go wrong. Portions are reasonable for the group size, orders usually come out pretty quickly, and they change the grills every round or two. Most tables have one grill for every four people, so larger groups will typically get two grills. Like most KBBQ places, the experience can depend on your server. I've had many different ones over the years -- most are great, a few are just okay -- which probably explains the mixed reviews you'll sometimes see. Personally, it's never been enough to ruin my experience. A quick tip: reservations are highly recommended for groups of four or more, and they'll usually ask ahead of time if there are kids in your party. If I had to nitpick anything, the dipping sauces are pretty simple and not particularly memorable, but nothing is perfect. The restaurant itself is small and dimly lit, but I think that's part of the charm. It feels cozy and homey -- the kind of place where you can sit around the grill with friends and family and just enjoy the moment. I've made a lot of great memories here over the years. Before moving out of state, I used to come here almost every other month with different groups of friends or family. I've included photos from several past visits with this review because they really show how often I've come here over the years. If anything, they're proof of how loyal of a returning customer I've been. ;) no bonuses or perks besides good food lol. After you're done pigging out, you can grab Melona bars or taiyaki ice cream fish sandwiches from the freezer near the front for cheap. Or if you want to extend the night, there's a Baskin-Robbins right next door for dessert. Parking is also pretty easy, and even though the lot gets a little dark at night, the bright lights from Gangnam Ave make it easy to spot. Maybe I'm a little biased because of all the good memories tied to this place, but there's a reason I've been returning for many years -- even before COVID. If you love AYCE KBBQ and want variety, good marinades, and a cozy vibe, Gangnam Ave is absolutely worth checking out.

Shoutout to Folsom, CA. Kabayan!…read more This is a super worthy shout out. Kabayan is Filipino casual counter service eatery serving up some darn tasty food. I'm not well versed in Filipino cuisine, but I got working tastebuds and I like what I like. I meandered into the eatery on a recent weekend mid-afternoon. The tables were filled with happy folks enjoying their meals with a line of folks waiting for an open table; that's always a good indicator. I decided to order to go. The owner was cashiering. She was super helpful and engaging. Big smile. I ordered the two item combo $13.99 that comes with rice and pancit. The pancit was classic with all the familiar flavors. Ginisang Pusit. Squid. Soooo good! I never had this dish before. The squid was super tender, not mushy nor rubbery. Perfect tenderness... how did they do that?!? It had a sweetness and slight spiciness. Spiciness without the heat, but packing a bunch of flavor. I'm still thinking about that dish. Pork Kare Kare. It was served with a side of fermented shrimp paste. Not a lot of restaurants provide that shrimp paste, so I was stoked even if it was a smallish portion. The paste was a perfect compliment of saltiness to the creamy peanut butter sauce. Yup, PB gravy sauce. They also sell imported Filipino packaged snacks and pantry items. Plus they sell halo halo. I saw folks with gorgeously delicious looking halo halo. Colorful layers of shaved ice, ice cream, and toppings. The eatery is not particular large, so when it's a full house, it gets crowded cozy.

There's plenty of parking spots as it's in the same plaza as Raleys. It's a smaller shop that poses as a restaurant on one side and a small market filled with Filipino snacks on the other. There's not much for ambience, but it's clean and cozy. The owner served me, and she was super warm and friendly and very welcoming. I had questions about the food and their menu and she was very patient going through all of them. She introduced me to pitchi pitchi which is a sweet and salty cassava dessert that reminds me of mochi. The cheese threw me off a little, but I read that sometimes it's served with coconut flakes. I ordered two halo halo desserts, two combos, the cassava dessert, upgraded the rice to garlic rice, two orders of lumpia, and picked up a couple of calamansi drinks and garlic peanuts as a snick snack. Total bill plus tip was over $100. The menu changes every day, which I think is interesting. And every Sunday they serve lechon for $18 a pound. Check out their Facebook page for updates in case I got this information wrong. For the food, I had half pancit and half rice. I had adobo chicken, butter chicken, and two pork dishes that I don't remember the name. I like that the pork had a good combo of fat and lean meats. I wish I could've eaten it there but we had lunch and then decided to stop here. I felt like the food being warmed up after sitting in the fridge for a bit, It kind of made all of the entrées taste similar to each other. Next time I will vary my order, like I'll get a saucey dish, a sour soup, and a bbq skewer. All in all the food tasted very homey and delicious. It's heavily seasoned. I can see myself ordering lumpia and pancit to a party. Can't wait to go back and try their lechon and pork belly.

We saw the smoker in the front of the building. I do luv me some good ole BBQ. So off we went. We ordered a double down plate $26: two 7oz protein choices with cole slaw on brioche and an 8 oz side choice. Brisket and pulled pork were our protein choices with and potato salad. We bought another side, macaroni salad. We requested that the pulled pork be placed on the side and additional sauce. I dislike being that customer with persnickety preferences. But we were, and they didn't blink an eye. Super accommodating. The pulled pork had a deep smoky flavor. Tender shredded pieces. Mmm. The sauce was served on the side. That too was delicious. Hubs had the brisket and wolfed that down before I could swipe a piece. Darn. The potato salad was tasty. Slightly tangy, which I really liked. The place is family owned and operated. It's a sports bar and family friendly bbq joint. Giving off family friendly vibes. But hey, a bar and family friendly? Yes. They both co-exist harmoniously. Talking about sports. The TVs of course are tuned onto sports. All of the screens are strategically placed throughout. They even have framed signed football jerseys from USC Trojans, Denver Broncos, and 49ers to name a few. Pretty neat.
