New location - taken Aug 2025

They moved from Whittier Blvd to Harbor Blvd behind Winchells donuts. They have a little more space to dine in and as always it's best to call ahead.

I think I just found my new favorite fried chicken place. I'm pretty sensitive when it comes to fried food especially that greasy oil smell, but everything here tasted clean and fresh. You can tell they take good care of their oil. The seasoning was really well-balanced. Not too salty, which made it super easy to keep eating without getting tired of the flavor. We ordered the family meal and the portion size was more than enough. The sides were honestly amazing. The coleslaw and macaroni salad were creamy and flavorful, way better than I expected. They even included Hawaiian rolls, so we made little chicken sandwiches such a fun and delicious bonus :) Definitely a solid 5-star experience for me. Great food, generous portions, and attention to detail in every part of the meal.

I would frequent the previous location when they were on Whittier blvd next to Marie Callender's - yesterday while working in the area I decided to stop by 1 min before closing and I was greeted with kindness! I asked if it was too late because they of the closing time. A nice lady said we're still taking orders welcome! This is their new location on harbor blvd behind winchells - chicken is as delicious as always- the gravy on the mashed potatoes was missing something- tasted a bit bland but was still

New location on Harbor Blvd. and Erna.

Visited for the first time at the new location. They did a nice job setting up the place. Plenty of parking at the new spot on Harbor Blvd. The food was tasty, as usual. Everything seemed just about the same as before they moved, except for the price. It's not surprising they'd raise prices, I'm sure their rent is higher at the new location. Still a great option for tasty chicken and potato wedges. I've never been a fan of the macaroni salad and wish they'd change up the recipe. We usually get the family meal and don't want to get two potato sides and not fans of coleslaw. I'm glad they are open again.

First time at this restaurant. Ordered 2 family meals total 20 peace chicken and side mashed potatoes, coleslaw, I don't recommend the mashed potato and gravy looked like they took it off the freezer there was no flavor and taste on both.

Love this place! The chicken here is so delicious! The potato wedges are the best. Very old school in La Habra, but what isn't! You will not be disappointed in the broasted chicken.

Newly renovated Chicken Box. It even has indoor tables! Menu as of 7/16/25.

Long and behold.... Chicken Box is BACK!!! Same owner, same taste, just different address. I've been craving Chicken Box for the past 6 months and I'm so glad they are back. Go and order some

The Chicken Box recently reopened in it's new location in La Habra and I was excited to give it a try. My girlfriend and I were hungry and wanted something new and we haven't had chicken in awhile so we were so down. I ordered the chicken sandwich and she ordered the chicken strips, we also ordered 6 potato wedges. The menu is not huge but it offers enough to satisfy your needs. The Chicken tasted great and those potato wedges were so delicious. I could probably just eat those for a meal to tell you the truth. The restaurant itself isn't big inside but it's not too small either. The cashier was really nice and it was really busy that evening I went in. So what I'm saying is there might be a line but it's worth it. I'll give it another go soon, that's a sure thing.

Moist fried chciken. The texture is perfect, and the chicken tastes gives you the best of both worlds, fried and broiled.

Ask the Community - Chicken Box

When are they ever going to reopen?????? I miss Chicken Box!

Here is the new address, 311 N Harbor Blvd La Habra, CA 90631…

Does anyone know when chicken box will reopen? I heard they might be relocating, does anyone have any answers? This is one of my favorite places.

They have relocated over to the strip mall on Harbor that used to be the Chinese Restaurant used to be

I heard Chicken box is closed, just saw a sign its moving to Harbor blvd behind Winchell's?

I drove by there yesterday and saw a sign about relocating. I couldn't see the address because traffic started to move.

    Are you open Thanksgiving Day?

Hi, does the chicken have flour on it? (I have a gluten free concern.) Thanks.

    Yes very so small amount.

While the spot in La Habra is a lot smaller, the flavors here are BIGGGGG. I unfortunately missed the time window for the lunch special. I remembered how much I enjoyed the soy garlic wings last time. But this time around, I needed a little more heat for my wings cravings so I ordered myself 10pc hot honey wings and one waffle fries. I also got a salad & some radish on the side. Loved munching on the radish in between every few wings! Mid-meal, the owner refilled my water and struck up a conversation with me. He's such a cool dude and I deeply admire him for bringing 3 CM Chicken locations to the West Coast. Wings were perfectly seasoned, juicy, and crispy. You can really taste how they use fresh ingredients in their recipes. Waffle fries did not disappointment. And the side fixings were such a nice touch to the overall savory-ness of the meal. My leftover wings and salad made for a great midnight snack.

When we got there at 5 pm, almost all the tables were already full. We were able to get the small table where you sit down on some cushions to eat. They have this unique seating area in the back by the bathroom near the kitchen. Check it out. We ordered the honey soy chicken plate with rice. They fry chicken thighs for that one and gave a decent amount of chicken. The sides were ok. Probably not my preference. We also got the 8 piece seaweed fried chicken and the honey soy chicken. The chicken here are big and moist. Very juicy and very good. The seaweed one is very unique and I really like that one. A lot of umami flavor. However, what made it a 4 star place for me was that the server never really checked up on us at all. Didn't come by to ask how things were or anything. Also, the price is quite high for what it is. $20 for 8 pieces of wings isn't cheap. The two items with tax and tip was over $40 and I think we all still left not quite full. Anyways, it was good trying it out, but might not be something I go to often.

The Background: Eggbred is a fast-food establishment with fast-casual aspirations. You pay at the counter but the meals are handcrafted, so there's a wait similar to a sit-down restaurant. Plus, the prices are higher than a Mickey D's -- $9.79 to $13.99 for sandwiches and $9.99 to $17.99 for burritos, for example. The Food: I ordered the Ribeye California Burrito and it was delicious. The beef was tender and moist, the avocado was fresh, and the cilantro crema was tasty. The lemonade was very meh, unfortunately. The Setting: Located in a smallish strip mall on Harbor Boulevard, it has limited free parking in the front. Not a problem on a weekday mid morning, but I imagine it would be quite difficult to find parking at peak times. Inside, it had a cool, modern aesthetic, but it was small, not ideal for mid to large-size groups. Customer Service: My cashier was friendly and quite knowledgeable, providing an eggcellent recommendation (the Ribeye California Burrito). However, the cook staff took awhile making the food (it took about 20 minutes for my order to come out). The Pros and Cons: So, is the food worth the hype and premium prices? Yes and no. It's essentially a fast-food restaurant charging sit-down prices with longish wait times. Your satisfaction level will depend largely on your expectations: if you're thinking it's fast food, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the care they put into the food and freshness of the ingredients. You'll be disappointed if you're expecting a more premium experience to match the premium prices. The Conclusion: I would need to return to try the other dishes on the menu to give a definitive answer, but based on my first experience I didn't feel like I got enough value for the price I paid and the wait I endured. While I would be open to trying their other dishes, I would not return unless I was in the area by chance.

When I arrived, I was informed that the kitchen was completing a large order and that no whole chickens would be available until that order was finished. I understand the importance of fulfilling large orders, but there was no one else waiting in the restaurant, and I was the only customer present. It is difficult to justify making an in-store customer wait nearly an hour for one whole chicken when fulfilling that request would have had little to no impact on completing the larger order. What is most frustrating is the lack of common sense and customer service. Had the staff simply prepared the one whole chicken I ordered while continuing to work on the larger order, I likely would have been served and gone on my way without issue. Instead, I was left waiting for an unreasonable amount of time with no apparent effort to accommodate a paying customer who was physically in the restaurant. This experience highlights a problem that many businesses overlook: customers remember how they are treated. Even if the food is excellent, poor customer service leaves a lasting impression. Unfortunately, instead of leaving satisfied, I am leaving this review because of how poorly this situation was handled. Management should consider providing additional training and empowering staff to make reasonable customer-service decisions. A little flexibility and common sense could have turned this into a positive experience rather than a negative one.
