This place is horrible. Ordered 1/2 fried chicken, they gave me 4 piece dark. Ordered a biscuit, hard as a rock. Noodle salad taste old and chicken flavoring was inconsistent. One piece one very salty and the other 3 were bland, no quality control whatseover. Last but not least I ordered and paid for a sweet potatoe pie they never put in the bag. Complete incompetence. So. 7 months after my review of this place my sister had her experience with Chicken Delight. She received a coupon in her Valpac envelope yesterday and saw their coupon, decided "why cook tonight? Call Chicken Delight!" So she did. Upon answering the clerk told her the coupon was expired. She wouldn't believe my sister held a coupon in her hand clearly marked to expire in December. When she asked to speak to the manager she heard him tell the clerk "tell her to call back tomorrow." I guess they have so much business they can mistreat whoever they want. Well they have now lost 2 more lifelong Westbury residents. Again, they are substandard with their customer service. So sad to see a once reputable business reduced to the shell of what it could be. read more

My only issue is with the owner, he is charging for extra bbq sauce mini cups which is the main reason I come here. If your not too hungry but want to try this place. I've become addicted to Chicken Delight. Love it! We ate lunch there today--four pieces of amazing fried chicken with a side of great fries, and a small order of fried clams. And lemonade. I could have eaten more. Crunchy crust with moist and tender chicken inside. You walk in the door and order, and that's when it goes in the fryer. Perfect every time. I hear the ribs are fantastic too--maybe next time or the time after that, 'cause I keep going back or ordering takeout again and again. The food here is always delicious, which is what keeps us coming back. Nice & hot & fresh. However, fhe staff is strongly lacking. And, after my visit tonight, that needs to be addressed. They are HORRIBLE when the owner is not here. I like to call when I leave work to order, drive my 15 mins there, and my food is always ready to go when I arrive so I can go straight home. I called today, was asked to hold for a moment, and was left sitting there my entire 15 min drive while I listened to them help two walk in customers and answer cell phones and have personal conversations. So, I come in, place my order, and proceed to wait. The woman is very rude and continually on her cell. I asked for a med mashed potatoes, gravy on the side, as I always do - was given a TINY "cup" of gravy, barely enough for one forkful - told her that that is not what I usually get... she said "oh, well. When we first moved to Westbury in 1964/65, the store was on Post & Lenox. We always ordered from them. Either pick-up or delivery. I remember cardboard plates stapled together and blueberry muffins. Excellent. The food is STILL excellent in 2015. I just saw in The Westbury Times that they're celebrating 50 years. That's a wonderful thing. It's a family-owned business--the Madonnas. I remember coming in one evening and (I guess the Grandmother who used to sit and take orders at the phone) said to me, "You have a beautiful voice. I sat near you in church." Who would expect that?! There's a newspaper clipping on the wall about a Madonna doing a bicycle ride. Lots of family memorabilia. But enough about that...the food is fantastic. They pay attention to what the public would like and add things like grilled burgers, ethnic dishes and sides. But my favorite thing I order everytime I come in is the Rib Snack with extra BBQ sauce. You can't go wrong here. And as they used to say, "Don't cook tonight, call Chicken Delight" from Westbury. It's the bomb! read more

I ordered a chicken/ribs combo and added a number of sides. It took a little while for the food to come but I didn't mind but when I opened up the bag, I noticed the chicken wasn't there, just the ribs and all the sides. I looked through all the containers and the two bags included-everything else was there. I then called Chicken Delight to tell them-I spoke to one girl then who then gave me the manager. I heard him question his staff and I heard them all swear that they were '100% positive' they put the chicken in there. He then questions me, confirming that his staff said they included the chicken in my order and begins to take a tone that may suggest that I may be mistaken. I once again insisted that the chicken was ABSOLUTELY NOT INCLUDED in my order. Eventually he offered to give my credit for my 2 pieces of missing chicken the next time I come in but after thinking about it, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to take him up on that. I've heard enough stories about what happens when you complain about your food. The thing is, I wasn't upset that the food took a little longer than they told me it would or even that they the chicken that I had paid for in my chicken and ribs combo, wasn't included in my order. It was having to hear the entire staff in the background confirm that everything in the order was correct and then have the manager take a tone with passively suggesting that I may be trying the scam them out of 2 free pieces of chicken out of my $27 order (even gave the delivery girl a nice tip). I understand mom and pop businesses may run a little different than corporate chains and I completely understand mistakes happen. I wasn't being rude or abrasive, I didn't want a refund or to get anyone in trouble-I just wanted the chicken that was supposed to be included in my order but after seeing that the staff was so sure they never made a mistake and after hearing the tone of that manager I don't think I'll be ordering anything else from them. I'm a manager in food service too but I understand how important it is to make sure every customer experience in a positive one and if there's ever a problem, you FIX IT-IMMEDIATELY, no questions asked. I hope someone over there realizes that the cost of losing a customer will ultimately cost them a lot more than 2 pieces of chicken. read more

Food is good but literally everything else about them is bad. On multiple occasions, I was told to "please hold" only to have the person on the other end of the line literally put the phone down and forget about it. After about 5-10 minutes of waiting I would hang up. This has seriously happened about 6 or 7 times. When I do actually manage to get an order in, they will tell me it'll be ready in 20-30 minutes. The food almost always takes about an HOUR to be ready, I will be standing waiting for my food while watching them literally eat behind the counter instead of preparing the food that I ordered. Just got a delivery. The delivery person could not read nor speak English. It took him 20 minutes to figure out how to type in a few numbers at my gate.
