All my stars are for the flavor. The chicken was delicious. I liked how they made it super flat so it could get extra crispy. The seasoning on the fries was also very good. The service wasn't great. My combo meal was missing the fries, my salad had no dressing, and I wasn't given a fork, which are not kept out in the dining area for self service. When we arrived, there was sauce spilled in a big puddle on the prep area. The toilet was gross and needed a good spray down. If I came again, I'd probably get something to go, and double check that it had everything included. read more

I really wanted to like this place because I've been watching Guy since his first appearances in "The Next Food Network Star". We stopped in to grab a quick dinner before a show at Pantages. My friend ordered the regular chicken strips meal. The service was good initially and they brought our food to the table. After biting the tender, my friend realized that they had given her the spicy chicken instead of the regular she ordered. The employee she told promptly removed the food from our table to correct the order. When the cook came back to the table with what we believed to be the right order, my friend noticed one of the tenders had a bite missing and asked the cook. He admitted that he had just thrown the original spicy tenders from her order back into the fryer (with everyone else's order). In his words "That knocks the spice off of it." The four of us were in disbelief that he admitted to recooking the food that had already been handled by my friend, and even bitten from! She declined the order and asked for a refund, which they obliged. We all hesitated to eat our food after that. I had the regular tenders which were made of all breast meat but lacked much flavor. I tried 3 of their sauces. The homemade ranch was best and the hot honey is not hot. The fries were seasoned well and had good flavor but the rest of us could not be convinced to eat all of our food after the cook's honesty about what had taken place. Perhaps the employees need to be retrained and made to take a food handler's course on food safety. They contaminated the oil that they were cooking everyone's food in and in the process committed health code violations. I hope that management sees this and takes corrective action before someone gets seriously sick. read more

The best chicken tenders I have had in a long time! Juicy, moist and super flavorful with that seasoning on it. Loved the garlic sauce and donkey sauce and the Nashville hot honey was perfectly hot and sweet! Fried pickles were disappointing, crust falling off every other pickle chip and very dry. Our friends had shakes that looked amazing but I had to pass after a week of eating way too much food on our trip we just returned from! The banana pudding shake was the favorite in our group. Food ordering was wonky, and we didn't get a number but they called our names while our friends had numbers assigned to them for the table. That was confusing. Great table seating area outside. I ordered online here and drove here for pick up and overall had a good experience here! Just some background, this is not my first time trying guy's chicken, I've had it in Orlando and Vegas. I will say the flavor and quality is consistent through the states I've tried it. Food was great! I love the seasoning on the chicken which is why I keep coming back. Now this was my first time at this location, I would say atmosphere is very Hollywood lol it's in a busy area and street parking is terrible. The staff seemed low, it was a Sunday night though so maybe that's why? I could just tell front service employee was overwhelmed :( regardless the food was great. So delicious! We wanted to like this place so badly, but there were just too many things going wrong for this joint that day. After seeing a show at the Pantages, Chicken Guy was one of the closest restaurants to the theater. It was on our way back to the parking garage, so we decided to stop for a quick bite. It was literally the opposite of quick. The line was about 2 people deep, so we didn't think it would be too bad. But we ended up there for about an hour. I think the AC was broken, because there was a portable unit next to the drink machine, but it didn't seem to be on. With the fryers going and the hot air from the kitchen, it was pretty hot and muggy in the shop, despite being a cool day. They should have at least propped open the doors. We found a seat outside on the patio after waiting about 5 minutes for a table to open up. Our food took about 25 minutes to come out, and all we ordered were the tenders to share. There were many angry patrons complaining about the amount of time to get their orders. The staff was apologetic, but it didn't really help speed things up much. The tenders were okay; the sauce was where it was at! We tried the ranch and the garlic parm sauces, and they were both great. That was the one redeeming quality about Chicken Guy! read more

Chicken Guy actually has a surprisingly solid gluten-free option, which is rare since most spots don't offer good substitutes for gluten-free bread and grilled chicken. I went with the buffalo chicken sandwich, and honestly, something about it tasted nostalgic I finished it in about 6-7 bites. My only suggestion would be to add one more tender to really fill out the burger, but overall, it was great. The gluten-free bread is the classic crumble kind, but that's pretty standard most gluten-free buns fall apart anyway, so no complaints there. If you're gluten-free and in a pinch, this place is worth checking out. The fries are also classic and hit the spot. read more

I went here because I was getting a haircut nearby. I knew about this place because I watched "Guy's chance of a lifetime". I ordered the 3 piece tenders ($10) with ranch and donkey sauce. Jas, a nice young lady that works the front, gave me the sample and was the only reason why I went to the grand opening today. I tried the tenders and fries and was pleasantly surprised with the flavor. They have lots of sauce options and I enjoyed trying the sweet bbq option. The fries don't need any sauce as they are seasoned and pack a punch. I liked the place and would recommend it to my friends to visit. Look for it in a small corner behind the Funko building. Maybe my expectations were too high, but this restaurant was underwhelming. There's lots of advertising and it's located in a populated spot. Even though there was only one person ahead of me, my order still took 20 minutes. I requested the chips on the side to keep my sandwich from getting soggy, and while the cashier was fine with it, the cook seemed annoyed and said "It's only like five chips", which felt unnecessarily rude. The cashier also didn't change gloves while handling food, the screen, and even stepping outside with the same pair. On top of that, they didn't have the correct-sized lids for the shakes... the regular drink lid was too small, and the one they gave me was too big. As for the food, the bourbon BBQ sandwich was okay, the Korean BBQ sandwich was dry, the fries (not pictured) were salty, and the mint shake was just mid, though the presentation was nice. Also, they didn't give me any sauces or ketchup, I think it may have been an extra charge. Overall, I wouldn't come back or recommend this spot. It's simply mid. read more

2nd try. This time for the Classic Chicken sandwich. My fast food chicken sandwich barometer is Wendy's. I didn't get Chicken Guy's fried chicken, opting for grilled instead. The chicken is a nice quality, but the sandwich is made up of (2) tenders. Which makes eating it a tricky proposition if it's not firmly set into the bun. Which it won't be if it's got 1/3 cup of thousand Island on it. #condimentfail The accompanying lettuce was bedraggled. The Cole slaw is tasty and fresh. With a hint of horseradish. But, why offer sauces on the side of the sandwich if it's going to be doused in another dressing? Ultimately, I don't get CG's place in an already crowded to-go chicken field. It needs to do a better job of standing above the competition, especially if Fieri's name is going to remain attached. read more
