    Amazing dessert!
    Mark M.

I was craving Mediterranean cuisine one day and stopped by at this wonderful restaurant! I ordered the Gyro Bowl with beef and lamb, which were the necessary protein items that came with basmati rice, onions, tomatoes, romaine lettuce, English cucumbers, feta and red wine vinaigrette topped with tzatziki and spicy yogurt. As you can see from one of the photos attached, this bowl had a variety of contents and flavors. It truly was a sensational experience and I am glad I got to take some home, which allowed me to have several meals from what I got throughout the week! I also got the Baklava, which included walnuts, syrup, and Greek phyllo. It had the perfect crunch and sweet goodness that a dessert could have after a hearty meal. I certainly recommend this place and am glad that parking was easy to find!

My friend and I just came for the froyo and it was after a full dinner and i enjoyed every bite of it. I don't know if i could do the baklava and honey again next time though after a meal. It's quite filling and VERY sweet! And they don't skimp out on the ingredients! That thing is massive and totally shareable. My friend loved her chocolate dipped as well. It's limited time only btw!

Solid take out experience here this evening. We saw a BOGO on Uber eats and got 2 chicken gryros. Portion was good and it was packaged well. Their mustard sauce is like a honey mustard and went well with the meal. I got some chewy chicken pieces in mine and the fries looked a little sad, but overall the food was good.

Nick the Greek often pops up in my Uber Eats app in Los Angeles because of its BOGO deal so I decided to give it a try. For under $20, I got a beef gyro and specialized fries with lamb. I found the food to hit the spot and I liked that the gyro had fries inside. I do wish there was a little less garlic in my orders but overall, I would eat there again.

SO GOOD. I ate here for the first time while visiting LA, and the food is so fresh and feels healthy while still delicious! I ate in the restaurant on a Saturday night, not too crowded and they had fast service. I noticed they had a lot of online orders picking up. If I ever come back to LA, I will be stopping by Nick the Greek again!! I want to try another salad!

Chicken is completely pink inside. Uneatable. When I called to get a new order they wouldn't pick up. Do not recommended this place

Beef/Lamb Gyro Pita & Pork Belly Gyro Pita to-go
    Jodie F.

Tried the beef+lamb gyro & pork belly gyro. It was good! We like the pork belly one a lot more. Decent portion, nice amount of tzatziki sauce. Wait time was a bit long. There were 2 customers ahead of us & we waited close to 20 min for the 2 gyros. Ample seating. Free parking on-site.

    Greek Salad with chicken souvlaki
    Mike A.

This was an absolute joke. I had heard great things about this place. I am gluten free and I cannot eat bread, so I got a Greek salad topped with chicken souvlaki, dressing on the side. I also got extra lamb/beef gyro meat on the side. The "Greek" salad consisted of arugula and spinach. Nothing else... There were no other veggies. I would expect cucumber, tomatoes, feta... To top it all, the beef was just warm and the chicken was cold. I'm very disappointed

I made an OpenTable reservation about 10-15 minutes before arriving, and I'm glad I did because there was already a short line when we got there. There's valet parking for $13 for smaller cars/SUVs and $20 for larger trucks, plus tip, so definitely factor that into the meal cost. Street parking looked pretty difficult, so we were happy to just hand over the keys and not worry about it. Even with a reservation, we waited about 10 minutes. The restaurant is beautiful, and as you walk toward the dining room, you can see the fire blazing in the background. Unfortunately, our table was close enough to the fire that one side of us was basically being slow-roasted. We asked to move, and the staff was incredibly nice and switched us to another table immediately. Food-wise, this was definitely a mixed bag. The 26 oz prime ribeye ($185) was the biggest disappointment. I know it's an expensive special-occasion dish, and I saw a Yelp review calling it 10/10, so we thought, why not? Sadly, it was probably the worst ribeye I've ever had. There was a lot of silver skin/tough connective tissue throughout the meat, and for $185, I just don't think it was worth it. 1/5 for me. The grilled prawns were my favorite dish of the night and were excellent. My husband loved the lamb neck shawarma ($61). It was a little too rich for me, but I can see why he liked it, and at $61, it actually felt like one of the better values of the meal. We also enjoyed the duck hummus. The hummus with two pieces of pita was $19, but that definitely wasn't enough for three people, so we ordered two more pieces for another $10. That brought us to $29 for hummus and four pieces of pita. Delicious? Yes. A bargain? Absolutely not. Even in California, that's a lot of pita math. We also tried the Samira cocktail ($18), which they said was their most popular drink. It was good, but not particularly memorable for that price. There's also a 4% "Healthy LA" charge, so that's something to keep in mind when looking at the menu prices. For three people, our total was about $375 before tip, or a little over $120 per person. That's actually more than we spent at Nobu, so yes, I think Bavel is overpriced. But was the food good overall? Also yes. I'm glad we tried it, and I'd probably come back for the grilled prawns and maybe the shawarma. But the $185 ribeye? That one can stay at Bavel.

Our waiter told us that they can accommodate larger groups which is great. I recently ate food at Saffy's and I didn't enjoy it one bit. The servings there are too small, too pretentious and too overpriced. Open Sesame is the exact opposite and that's why it rules. A wonderful experience in Beverly Boulevard.
