As the lady(with the big eyelashes) was chopping the chicken, with gloves on, she would pop a piece of chicken into her mouth. I stood there in shock thinking "should continue with my order, I could only imagine what goes on when customers aren't around?!" Then I saw her do it again with another piece of chicken. If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered from this location via Uber Eats. I ordered 2 meals, extra chicken, 3 curry mustards per meal and a side of plantains. When the order arrived the extra chicken was pink (undercooked), the plantains wet burnt and dry and there was a total of 2 curry mustards. I contacted the store and asked for the manager, spoke with a man named Victor which I've had previous horrible experiences with, he lacks professionalism, respect and has NO customer service skills. I truly DON'T understand how this man is a manager. When I called and explained what I received his response was in a defensive tone and combative, he proceeds to tell me there are no notes (which I have pictures of the receipt from Chicken Kitchen) where it clearly shows my request. He then basically calls me a liar by saying I'm the only person to complain today. He also told me to drive myself there, well Victor, had i been able to drive there then I wouldn't have ordered through Uber Eats in the first place. Every encounter I've had with Victor has ALWAYS been unpleasant!! So basically I threw away $20+ and couldn't eat or feed my child this undercooked chicken. This man should NOT be a manager! This is the worst chicken Kitchen ever! Don't go here! I love chicken Kitchen and eat at the one on 41st street most of the time, but today this one was near me so I went there. The lady serving me seemed nice and I ordered what I normally get which is the Mexican chop chop without lettuce. I asked her to add no lettuce but she then went and added a bunch of extra lettuce. I told her again I didn't want lettuce to which she Ignored me. She then finished but didn't put tomatoes, I told her I wanted tomatoes and she ignored me again and put the lid on. I told the person at the front desk that she made it wrong, and he called her over, she then LIED and said I didn't want tomatoes. I kept driving past this place always saying I was going to try it. Well we went yesterday and went back today and got the same thing two days in a row. Safe to say we love it lol. We got the veggie wrap and added jalapeños and everything else we could. It barely closed. She cut it for us so we could share. That's how big it was. It looked BEAUTIFUL! Now I know it's called a wrap because it's not in a flour tortilla but for the sake of painting a picture this was the most beautiful healthy burrito ever. Fruit flies by the soda fountain. The sauces, always had dripped down, all over the place. Dirty tiles on the floor so filthy you would slide in sneakers. I will say either new mgr or a big, big turnaround. The place was spotless. The floors..tables..sauce /soda area clean. I ordered the double chicken breast with 2 sides. You cant beat the $8.99 price..which other then the family meal is most expensive item. The prices are still very fair for 2016. $5.99-$8.99..& really good quality. I also want to give a big kudos to one server..who gave a kid a cup for water..and the kid unable to figure out the water button on the self serve soda..when the server said, take any soda flavor,its ok.. .big smile from the kid and a nice move by the counter guy..Thumbs ..way up here..glad this place is close to back to what it was years ago. read more

My s.o. and I have eaten here many times infrequently for years, but this is the first I've been compelled to review it. Chicken Kitchen is a nice little dive to take for lunch, but it is infected by its proximity to Starbucks. Honestly, the biggest problem with coming here is the freaking traffic jam that you have to subject yourself to in the parking lot, during your lunch hour break. It's not funny, but there isn't really anything that can be done about it. The aggravation of this alone is enough to dock two stars from any honest review. Once your can enter the establishment, things are a bit better, with a semi-healthy menu that is only a touch overpriced. It feels like it's very overpriced, however because they created this little atmosphere where they charge extra for some very basic things , like tiny extra cups of salad dressing. Other Chicken Kitchen venues have these things for free in user accessible dispensers, but not this one. However, on my last visit here, they didn't charge me for an extra of dressing, so they may be changing that policy. Here's hoping, because I expected to dock another star in this review for that reason. The food is unpretentious and simple, and quite tasty for it. I always order the original Chop Chop with brown rice, and sometimes the rice is cooked well, but more often than not, they miss the mark with the brown rice. However, I do love their sweet plantains. Although the food is great, but everytime I order the Mexican Chop Chop as shown on their picture, I get a beans that are not shown on the picture, and get charged extra for the guacamole that shows to be included in the picture. Ahh, Chicken Kitchen, where do I begin? I have always enjoyed the food from this chain and the tasty chop chops from this location never fail to disappoint. At some locations I truly feel different from the masses but in this case I stand fully with the yelp tribe. The servers here are unhappy to the point of near hostility. On my last visit, the two employees making mine and another guests chop chops begin arguing in front of us and other customers. Then when I asked the gentleman assisting me to add skin (extra protein) he did not respond except for an angry glare. Not just my imagination because the person next to me witnessed this and began to laugh. In conclusion, the food here is certainly no less delicious than what is served at other chicken kitchens, but the large chop chops only come with half a pita, and they are always, always served sans smile. read more

I love the salads and chop chops. Their curry mustard is delicious. Prices are decent for the portions. A small/regular chop chop is around $6, but not really that small. The portions are very generous. My only complaint is they charge for every little add on, and service is never with a smile. I'm constantly running into rude people at this particular location. I go to Chicken Grill downtown sometimes- pretty much the same food, but the service is amazing compared to this place. If I'm running errands in the area, I'll usually stop here for lunch because it's healthier and more filling than other places around there. The restaurant is almost always empty. I guess most people do take out. I always do. One improvement that they've added recently are the sauce dispensers. Words cannot describe how I felt after my last experience with this particular location. I have been a loyal customer even going out of my way many times as this is the closest location to me. I refuse to go back after the ordeal that went down. I was falsely drawn in by a sign that said buy 1 get one free. I then asked how it works the answer I got from the lazy employees that can barely comprehend what I was asking them was that I can only get chicken and rice. I asked what about toppings. They proceeded to tell me no toppings are allowed and I was shocked because who would order a plain rice and chicken bowl. Friend recommended this place, so I went here. Ordered the whole rotisserie chicken and saw them pull it out of the oven right away and already did not like it. The chicken was probably sitting in there all day. I tore off a piece of the skin and it was hard and chewy. I took a bite of the leg and it was completely dried out. I can only imagine what the breast is going to taste like seeing how the dark meat was dry. I tried using their sauces to try to add flavor and moisture to the chicken but it did not help. Look I have been coming to this spot for a while and I stopped coming due to the disgusting dirty mop water smell that was around but at some point, I began coming back. I would order a Mexican chop with curry mustard on the side and it would always taste great, service was nice, the smell was still not the best but the food was somewhat worth it. Today I decided to eat here again and I got my usual order and right when I was going to check out the manager or some guy in a chicken kitchen dress shirt was scooping the curry mustard sauce into a cup with his BARE HANDS. He then proceeded to use this cup to fill other sauce containers. He saw that I was waiting to be checked out and he went to wash his hands and then touch the surface of the register. As someone who lives in North Miami, only a few blocks from their corporate headquarters, I thought I'd give it a try tonight (about 9:45pm). BIG MISTAKE. A man behind the counter asked me what I wanted. I ordered chicken of course. He said, and I quote exactly, "Almost ten. No chicken." His attitude appeared to say, "Wow, you idiot! You expect us to have chicken when we're open?" Nothing else. Not another word. No, 'I'm sorry." No, "Would you like anything else?" Nothing. He didn't even acknowledge that I existed after that and turned his back on me. I waited until they finished filling my wife's order and then we left (I told her to cancel it but she didn't want to). My wife said that she'd never order their food again anyway (a pita pocket) because she found it tasteless and poorly made (it fell apart; the woman who made it separated both halves of the pita bread; so much for a "pocket"). This disgraceful and rude place obviously does not care about my business (or yours). Clearly management doesn't bother to train their employees in even basic politeness. I'll never deal with this company again and I recommend you don't either. This experience makes me wonder. After all, if the staff that we interact with treats people like this then I can only imagine what goes on with the staff that actually cooks the food (maybe they spit in it, or worse; but who knows?). read more

After recently relocatiing to the North Miami area, we decided to try out the local Chicken Kitchen and see how it stood up to the wonderful 41st ST Miami Beach location. While that is a tough act to folllow, North Miami was just fine and we enjoyed. The place is kept clean and the service was friendly and helping when we needed to know something about a menu item. The line moved fast as one would hope - and the taste was just as we would expect. Chain restaurnts are always tricky to review, so when they get a good rating, I feel it is a winner! read more
