This place has such a good reputation. I'm sure I don't have to do a review. And I haven't eaten everything on their menu, but it smells so good when you go in there and the food is priced right and tastes even better. Go check it out. We had the party Pack for My Dad's tribute service and everybody raved about it and my niece from New York turned me onto it and everything's just been delicious ! I've been a loyal customer of Chicken Mason and usually place my orders online, but this time I ordered by phone. When I arrived for pickup, I asked for my order and the front desk lady handed it to me without mentioning anything about payment. I honestly forgot to pay, and I only realized it once I was already back at work. I planned to return after work to pay, but instead I received a call from the restaurant two hours later, and the lady on the phone was extremely rude. I never refused to pay, and the way she spoke to me was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. That's not how you treat loyal customers. This was a very disappointing and uncomfortable experience. After this, I will not be returning. I am a regular at this Chicken Maison location because the service and food are fantastic. I always go to Antonia's register. She is friendly, efficient, and accurate. She helps me with a smile, even with the twists I throw into my order every time. Brittney is always there with a friendly face and helpful attitude, asking everyone how they are and how she can make their visit great. She works non-stop helping customers, and helping the other staff as well. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and the restaurant is clean -- both of which are a testament to how great the rest of the staff is as well. OMG.... How have I never been here before?!?!? We landed in LAX and ordered take out from here. As we were driving home the smell of the lemon and the garlic and the spices filled the car. I could not wait to tear into what we ordered. And as we were driving home I just hoped the food tasted as good as it smelled. And boy was I not disappointed!!! We got a 1 whole chicken and a half of their spicy lemon chicken. And it was amazing!!! The flavors were out of this world. It was bold, it was in your face, it was amazing, and it's could've drank the sauce it was in. The chicken was moist. It was tender. Skin was cooked perfectly. The pita bread was amazing. Worked so well together soak up all the juices, and worked as a great vehicle for the chicken and the sides. We got their baked potato, rice, salad as sides. And they were all equally amazing. Their garlic sauce for the pita bread was amazing as well. Glad we got extras of it. There's a large seating area further down if you want to enjoy your meal there. They make delicious food and casual dining experience. I'm so glad this place is close to my job. My co-workers and I order at least once or twice a month from here. Service is awesome and fast. Always call ahead of time before the 12pm lunch rush. Their parking in the plaza gets really crowded, so pick up your food before 12pm to avoid the parking lot getting full. read more

Wanted to especially shout out the the crew working on thanksgiving eve at night - they went over and beyond- super friendly and helpful even though I could tell they were flooded with all the orders for thanksgiving. The guy behind the pick up counter stacking the orders and making sure each order was correct and the lady working the cash register in particular showed outstanding customer service. So on Fridays, when the partner and I are wiped from capitalist America and fighting through corporate bureaucracies, we decide to dine out or order in. This is when we go through another doom scrolling on food apps for what we can afford to feed the family. (I know, I sound poor AF, but im as dumbfounded as the next person why 2 meals at Carls JR or BK is now $30, then spending hundreds to pay for healthcare later bc fast food isn't real food and its probably messing up your insides). What I ordered: Gygo plate - 10/10. It comes with rice, salad, hummus, and pita bread. I don't think you can change the sides. Spicy lemon garlic whole chicken - 8/10. I should have paid extra for all dark meat because the white meat was so DRY. The sauce is my favorite. Sides: Orginal hummus - 10/10, so good. Spicy hummus - 8/10, a bit sour. Pita bread - 10/10, so soft! Side salad - 7/10, nothing special Regular potato salad - 1/10. I was SO DISAPPOINTED! I even a large side of this order. It was so so SOUR, too sour! I love lemon flavor, but this was overwhelming sour. Is this how it's supposed to taste??? Is the spicy garlic potato Salas sour as well? It went straight to the trash. I feel so bad. So it's November 3, 2025 a Monday and it's about 9:45 AM in the morning and I thought that this location opens up at 10 o'clock until I looked at the door. It actually opens up at 10:30 which is fine. I waited. I waited on their patio. There were people coming in and out. I believe to work there and also there were deliverys . While this whole entire time, I'm waiting to order food, there is one lady that may be the manager, I believe she noticed me standing on their patio just waiting and giving me strange looks while she kept locking the doors as people are coming in and out of the door until 10:30. it's not unusual for someone to visit a facility or establishment and wait so this not have been an issue to be giving me strange looks. OK that's fine. Then it may be about 10:15 to maybe 10:25 I am still waiting patiently. By the way wasn't doing anything wrong. I was by myself. I literally stood the whole entire 45 minutes. Because I just did not want to sit down and I have that privilege. Then I approached one of the doors because there are two entrances and I approached the one to the left side of the store. I waited patiently until the door opens. It's probably like 10:32 AM now and the same lady who was locking the doors back-and-forth all morning comes to the door, looks at the door then looks at me. Strangely pushes the door open and I'm standing there looking at her. Then she proceeded to say do you want to buy food? I said yes. Now while this questioning is happening in a strange manner I'm getting (you broke). Dhe says OK there's no smile. There's no warm, friendly greeting. So I stand there because I don't like the way I feel at the moment. It was really bizarre leery of her demeanor. So before I went inside, which I never went inside, I asked was there something wrong. She says no. I said OK but you're being weird. Then she says OK then closes the door the door as I stand outside the door. So I wanted to make a complaint to like a HR But I can't find one online so I thought I'd come to YELP and give my review here of this location @ Vermont & Carson. I come to this location often when I visit that UCLA hospital across the street. I never usually have any problems when I come here with anyone's behavior or their demeanor. So I don't know if this was just a bad day or anything like that, but I will not be eating in this restaurant today. I will come maybe another other time. I'm not going to allow this lady's nonchalant, bad demeanor prevent me to enjoy eating at this restaurant. Chicken Maison is one of my favorite restaurants. I didn't wanna touch the door and risk being blamed for an unintentional situation. It wasn't a comfortable situation. I don't even know why it appeared to be a situation. I was just minding my business. She was acting very strangely and odd. I don't know what her problem was, but it shouldn't have been with me. I did nothing wrong. I'm just a customer who came to have Chicken Maison for a late breakfast after visiting UCLA Medical Center. I was gonna buy a lot in there too. I hadn't eaten breakfast and I wanted to get something for lunch. After that interaction at the door, I stood by the door looking for a customer service line HR line. Others started to walk in even some police officers and I'm just standing there feeling very rejected at the door which is unusual. I decided to just go to somewhere else to eat and spend my money by the way. I have money by the way I have a large sum. I am a good saver and I have intent to buy some large investments. That said, I have money. I have credit cards, so I'm not a bum. I'm not a transient. Maybe it was just a type of profiling happening today but that's fine. I can profile back too! I have a lots to say of her appearance, demeanor, and background, but I'll keep it to myself. Placed a phone order for pickup. Everything was ready when we got there. I asked if they were able to bag each person's order separately with their name on it, and they did it perfectly. Such a help when ordering for 15 people for my birthday lunch. Everyone enjoyed their food, and I think the price point was perfect for the amount of food we received each. The rotisserie meals provided a lot of food for the price, so if you're hungry, I recommend getting the 1/2 chicken or full chicken. I got the 1/2 chicken, dark meat only ($2 upcharge), spicy lemon garlic with falafels and spicy sweet coleslaw as my sides. I wasn't a big fan of the falafels, but I did like the spicy sweet coleslaw. The chicken was also very flavorful and juicy. For my overall meal, I'd give it 4/5 I recommend and love their spicy lemon garlic chicken. One being tabouleh, and the other being falafel. The chicken was juicy but a bit on the tough side. The tabouleh was good, and the falafels were okay. Nothing too special. If you check in you get a free hummus plate. That hummus had to be the worst thing. It didn't taste fresh at all. Tasted more so like it was pre made in a can or something. My husband got the spicy 1/2 with potato salad and Greek slaw. He really enjoyed his plate. You order at the counter then sit anywhere. Food came out fast and servers were friendly. We ordered their kabob feast. We chose both chicken and steak kabobs, hummus, rice, and salad. I find their food on the pricier side, but everything was delicious. Chicken, steak, and vegetables were seasoned well. The chicken was very tender. The steak was a bit more inconsistent. Some parts were super tough and very well done and some parts were pink and tender. For me, what stands out the most is their rice. They have these tiny little grapes that are cooked with the rice and gives it a little sweetness. We had some trouble finding a parking spot in the busy lot during lunchtime on a Monday. I've been coming to this location for years. You can see my previous review from at least 4 years ago.. I've never had an issue until yesterday. I ordered my usual fish filet with the spicy garlic sauce. I ordered at the same time as my friend, and 4 people came after us. They ALL received their food before me.. When I asked the Girl behind the counter about my order, she was rude (her tone) but said it was coming. Another 7 mins go by, 20 mins in total before I get my food. I check to make sure all is good and notice there is little to NO spicy garlic sauce on my fish (pic below). I ask them for more sauce only to be told, NO, that's how the fish comes, it's marinated in the sauce, it's not drowning in the sauce! Like I said before, I've been coming for years, and I've never had this issue. It's usually way more than what was on my fish! Hell, you can look at the pics they post to see how much is usually on there. The Girl with too much makeup on behind the counter, could care less about what I was trying to explain and refused to give me more sauce unless I paid. Her attitude was so STANK.
