My favorite is their 1/4 chicken spicy lemon garlic. The marinade is out of this world and I love the pool of sauce at the bottom of the plate to soak up more of it for the middle of the chicken. Some worried customers see the pink and think they'll get salmonella but it's pretty normal to see that because of how it's cooked. My mom loves the salmon while my dad is a sucker for the beef kabobs. My sister enjoys the massive plate of chicken Alfredo. If you have a sweet tooth try the honey pistachio chip. The food was excellent and worth the visit. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. What took away from the experience was the hospitality near closing time. We arrived at 8:24 PM, spent over $53 on food, and tipped at the register. After paying, the first comment we received was, "We close at 9." While we were still enjoying our meal, the drink station was shut down around 8:45 PM, and staff began stacking tables and chairs and cleaning around us. The noise and activity made it feel as though we were being rushed out before the posted closing time. I completely understand the need to begin closing procedures, but guests who arrive during operating hours should still feel welcomed and able to enjoy their meal comfortably. The food was outstanding, but the service and overall guest experience at the end of the night did not match the quality of the food. My go-to order is the 1/4 Chicken (Original) and fries. If you get fries, they count as both sides but I love fries and they're yummy here! I've ordered Spicy Lemon Garlic and Lemon Basil in the past and I don't like it as much as I like the Original. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Their garlic sauce is delectable. I dip everything in that sauce!!!!!! The pita bread, chicken, fries, etc. If I have leftover garlic sauce left, I put it in the refrigerator and save it to use for my next meal. No garlic sauce wasted over here. Lol. The kabobs are ok, but once you try the rotisserie chicken, you won't go back! I'm not a fan of their rice. Raisins in rice? I originally ordered the salmon kebab and a lemon chicken plate and specifically requested no sesame seeds on the slaw due to a serious allergy. I usually come here and order 2 chicken kabobs and whatever else. I've been trying to get my protein in but I always feel so bad coming in during one of their busy hours (lunch) and taking up space near the door. I greatly appreciate the 2 girls who tend to recognize me when I just need to order, pay, grab my food, and leave since I'm usually walking here during my lunch break and need to eat quick and get back to work! They're always so nice here--even the BOH staff :)! Shortly after posting my yelp review on Chicken Maison (Torrance/Vermont location), I was encouraged to see a reply from their business manager offering to look into my concerns. Namely, the obtrusive whole stalk of romaine lettuce in the gyro sandwich, and the fact that their ginger lemon rotisserie chicken was unavailable to order via Grubhub. Less than two weeks later I was delighted to find that they had revised their Grubhub menu to include the aforementioned chicken and some other items too. There was also a new menu picture of the gyro sandwich, which had been renamed to a "wrap," revealing that the large leaf of romaine was now gone! I was so excited to see my review suggestions result in actual menu changes that I couldn't even wait until our usual grubhub day (Saturday), and we placed a dinner order on Tuesday, January 20. This may have been our undoing. I ordered my usual favorite spicy gyro "wrap" and of course, the ginger lemon rotisserie chicken which I was eager to try for the first time. My wife ordered her favorite steak & veggie kabob, which she told me she had been craving for weeks. She got the shrimp kabob last time, so it had been awhile since she had her CM steak fix. I wish I could muster the words to adequately describe the heart-wrenching look of dismay and disappointment on her face when our order arrived and we opened up the bag to find no steak kabob, but a chicken kabob instead! She's not a big fan of chicken, especially "dry, bland breast meat," as she put it. This poor steakless woman was utterly crestfallen, and all I could do was repeatedly apologize to her, feeling like it was my fault. I can't even imagine how such a mistake could be made; they're two entirely different proteins! Was this an act of sheer incompetence, or did they run out of steak and deem chicken to be an acceptable substitute? (It's not) As for my gyro, I was discouraged they didn't go for my diced cucumber idea, or even allow it as an option, but at least they were chopping the lettuce now. It's still a bit wilty and slimy however, so not much of an improvement really. But I gave it an honest chance, dousing it in tzatziki and taking a big juicy bite. Boy, was I in for a nasty surprise! While chewing the first bite, I immediately began to detect a weird soapy taste. My mind wouldn't accept it at first; "why would my favorite sandwich that I've enjoyed so many times suddenly taste like soap?" In stubborn disbelief I choked down another bite, and yes I was definitely tasting soap even stronger now! I began to dissect my gyro, systematically picking out and tasting individual components one by one. The tzatziki tasted like tzatziki. The meat tasted like meat. The onion tasted like onion. The tomato tasted like tomato. The lettuce tasted like... soap! I asked my wife to try a piece of the lettuce, and she tasted soap as well, so I know I wasn't imagining it. At this point I realize that I've got to pick all these nasty chunks of lettuce out of my gyro, and I'm kicking myself because I previously needed only to remove one giant leaf of lettuce. But now, because I opened my big stupid mouth in a yelp review, I have to pick out numerous unwanted little soapy lettuce bits! It was a classic case of 'be careful what you wish for.' I am at a total loss to explain why my gyro lettuce tasted like soap. I know that I don't have the "cilantro gene" (aldehyde sensitivity), not that the gyro contains cilantro. The Mediterranean fries have cilantro, but I didn't eat any of those until after the gyro, and they tasted fine. A bit overcooked and dry, maybe, but not soapy. I haven't seen any other complaints about soapy lettuce, so I can't imagine that Chicken Maison washes their lettuce with soap; do they? Is that even a thing? I'm very curious about how this happened and I'm hoping the Chicken Maison management team can look into it and shed some light on it for me, as they seem very conscientious and responsive to customer feedback, which I appreciate. The one bright spot in this otherwise awful experience was the ginger lemon rotisserie chicken, which I found to be mouthwateringly delicious! Ginger can be a bold spice, but here the flavor was mellow and not too pungent or overpowering. The skin of the chicken had a sticky subtle sweetness to it, as if it had been kissed by a honeyed glaze. This balanced perfectly against the savory zest of the lemon, garlic, scallion and ginger, making for a heavenly bite. Indeed, this might just be my new favorite flavor. Should we decide to venture another order in the future however, we'll stick to our usual Saturday night. Chicken Maison's Tuesday team really dropped the ball! read more

It's been a few months since my last visit and just wow. Customer service as soon as I walked in was amazing. It was nice and cool inside and super clean. I went with my go to gyro plate and it was so dang delicious. Portions and price point are great and the sauces they give you are out of this world. The garlic sauce and tzatziki are my go to choices with my meal. I also got a baklava to go which comes in these nicely packed containers with the syrup on the side. Very disappointed with the service today. I had a very long day and hadn't eaten anything all day, so I placed a phone order to pick up so I could eat on my way to my daughter's practice at the park. When I opened the bag, I realized there were no utensils inside. This happened at 5:55 pm and now it's 7:29 pm. My food is cold and my daughter's practice goes until 8:00 pm, so I basically haven't been able to eat. I've been trying to call to let you know and suggest that orders be double-checked before they're handed to customers, because this could happen to anyone. I've been on hold on the phone for more than 20 minutes. After such a long day, this is really frustrating. I hope in the future orders can be double-checked so this doesn't happen again. I think most people in the south bay have visited one of the Chicken Maisons in the area at least once. This location is one I've been to mora than a few times. The food here is always delicious with the Spuce Gyro plate being my favorite. If you eat here there is plenty of seating and parking is usually pretty easy. This one is located right across from Harbor UCLA hospital. I bet the nurses love coming here for lunch. You can choose from a variety of chicken combos from 1/4, 1/2, whole, kabobs, and a ton of sides like salad, potato salad, rice, hummus, tabuleah, and other healthy options.
