This review is based on my experience on 8/12/26..... The dining area was clean. Soda fountain, napkins, forks and straws were stacked and clean as well. 1 star. Easily one of the worst CAVA experiences we've had. My wife and I both got bowls, and the portions were honestly ridiculous. Everything was basically a half portion, and even after paying for double meat, we barely got any meat at all. The lady behind the counter made the whole experience even more frustrating. She got rid of my first bowl and randomly decided to start another one. Then she put my veggies in first, added maybe half a scoop of rice afterward, and kept walking away in the middle of making the bowl. She seemed completely all over the place, and the entire process was disorganized. For what CAVA charges, especially when you're paying extra for double meat, you should not leave feeling like you were given half a meal. Both of our bowls were noticeably under-portioned. Extremely disappointing experience at this location, and I would not come back unless they seriously improve their portioning and service. read more

Loved finding out about this place! I absolutely love Mediterranean food bar styled servings. The team is very energetic & quick. They answer questions pretty well and prioritize your turn. The food is amazingly good! I love going there. The steak is good and cooked well. I recently tried the lamb on my last visit. The associate helping me kindly let me have a bite of it to taste it, love that kind of service! I got half and half and was satisfied by far. The place is always clean and i really like their different water juice options they have. I would say they all taste like they're missing something, but still good. Only thing im not a fan of is that sometimes your order may sit while its being prepared which sucks because your protein is getting cold. Not to mention the place is typically frosty cold as well lol. AC definitely works there xD I also like their different side sauces and always eager to give you more or extra. I had a great experience at CAVA in Carson! I went there with my brother, and I got a bowl while he got a wrap. The service was excellent, especially thanks to Luna (manager, I believe), who was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better considering I haven't had the best experiences at other locations. I also loved the fresh and abundant ingredient options. There were so many flavorful choices to build a meal exactly the way we wanted, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. After spending some time in LA we were looking for a healthy quick option for dinner. Wife suggested this place. We have one in Rancho which I love, so we came here. Its right on the corner of the mall/plaza. Plenty of parking everywhere. Line was long but they kept it somewhat going. I forget the fiest guys name but hes super chill and quick. Great customer service from him. I ordered the harissa steak.... and they ran out od the harissa seasoning..... it was inly like 830pm, how did you run out of it already? Ok fine you did.... couldn't have let the customers know from the beginning? I asked them what sauce would be a good substitute for it. They said the lemon pepper one. It was in fact not a good substitute for it. It was not good at all. Adrianne was not very nice either. Just snappy. Maybe because it was the end of her shift or whatever. But she wad rude. Not made for customer service. There was a "medical emergency" happening with a whole bunch of police and firemen and paramedics. And she was just staring out the store at them, all invested in the tea. How about u just hand me my food and let me be on my way? I've had better food and experience st the Rancho Cucamonga location. So I'll just chalk this visit up to they were having a bad day. I want to send kudos to all the team members who worked the shift yesterday, Sunday, June 21 at approximately 1:30 . I frequent this location. I will say sometimes they are very, very busy so come with patients and expect to wait. It's not always the case but it's good food so people are lining up for it!! Although I would say to the staff/cashiers greet your customers, SMILE, and don't rush us if there's no room in line to step up to where you're stationed. Remember to thank your customers. But I really NEED to give a shout out to the crew yesterday in particular Jacob. Jacob's name stands out because there was a man speaking to him in a demeaning way, I'm not sure if the man was provoked however for whatever reason it was a ripple effect from the customers in front of that man, the customers behind us and so on. The crew handled it well. Although their facial expressions showed an annoyance, they were not argumentative with the customers nor were they rude back to them. I've never seen multiple customers treat employees this way. I was shocked that they were being spoken to the way they were yesterday... and although being right in the middle of the mistreatment, they were still good to me. read more

I would not recommend this CAVA location. I placed a pickup order and arrived after the scheduled pickup time, only to be told they couldn't find my order. After I showed my confirmation, they realized the mistake and said they would remake it, adding another 10-15 minute wait. While waiting, I watched an employee drop a customer's drink cup on the floor, pick it back up, set it on the counter, and then fill that same cup with juice for the customer instead of throwing it away. That alone was enough to make me question the food safety practices. Unfortunately, it got worse. When we got home, my cousin found a long dark hair in her bowl. We were both completely disgusted. Between the mishandled pickup, serving a drink in a cup that had been on the floor, and finding hair in the food, I have no confidence in this location's cleanliness or quality control. I've had good experiences at other CAVA locations, but I won't be returning to this Carson (South Bay Pavilion) location. read more

A standard, no-frills, fast casual restaurant located on the bustling Avalon Blvd near Ikea, this Cava is typically considered a reliable and comparable alternative to Chipotle with Mediterranean inspired options! The ambiance is quite nice inside the restaurant, but service is a bit slow, and the line can drag on weekends in particular. The quality of the ingredients are fresh and above average compared to other Cavas. Overall, definitely a recommended option in the LA region! read more

I had heard of this place via social media. I wanted to feature healthier options for eating out. So I tried this out. Had to travel a little far for it, but I'm not sure it's worth it. Location: in the Carson Plaza shopping center right off of the 405 freeway. Corner store with plenty of parking as there is a private parking space but it does share with other stores. Food: Just like a Chipotle, you have many options to making your own bowls to a taco. I made my own bowl that had lettuce, roasted corn, feta, spicy lamb balls, feta cheese, and basmati rice. I also included some hummus, tzatziki sauce and a spice blend sauce called harissa(?). My first mistake was choosing the spicy lamb balls.. They were perfectly cooked on one side, but the underside was burnt. No good. Why is it so hard for places to cook lamb so it's not burnt? I suggest getting any of the dips if you want any on the side I also got the Aleppo tangerine drink. The drink was OK, but I think I would've been happier with some of the other drinks on tap. Summary: I think I would've been happier, not including any feta or if I had picked another protein choice rather than lamb balls. I took off a star for burnt meat. I took off another star for their dips. If you're going to include dips, can we please not plop them down in one area of your bowl? The idea is to be able to dip into them as much or as little as we want not have them covered in one entire area. A better idea would've been to ask them to include them separately from the bowl so, maybe that was on me. The rice was also hard as if not quite cooked enough or been kept too long in the warming bin. You're not limited to bowls either. You can have it in pita bread in salad or a bowl that includes both grains and salad. You also have your choice of picking one of their curated bowls instead of making your own, which I guess is the way to go if you're new. Would I come back? Hmmmmmm. Maybe. I would be willing to give it a go again, but maybe this time I'll be picking a curated bowl instead. Ambiance is fast casual and modern. Service was a bit hectic as they were busy with the lunch crowd, so no fault there. Price is mid to high depending on what your choices are for fillings. I included their roasted sweet potatoes so my total was about $25 with the fountain drink. Not exactly cheap. Was it worth it? Meh. I suppose if you want to feel more comfortable about your healthy option for food, you might be willing to pay a little bit more like anything else these days when eating out especially if you want healthy, you're going to pay for it. read more

We walked in at 10:45pm on a Monday night coming straight from LAX. The staff were cleaning and packing up. They greet us by saying "today they ran out of a lot of stuff," stuff meaning toppings. We ask what's still available and they only had olives, feta and some other random topping. About a month ago we showed up on a Sunday evening and the doors were locked well before their closing time. These are foundational elements of a reliable fast-casual experience and should not break down during peak service. Been to this Cava multiple occasions, but I'm so upset with the recent pick up order. They need to be careful on what lids they're putting on the bowls because I received a completely different bowl than the one I ordered. My dad ordered 4 bowls for the family, and I was so excited to eat my bowl after work so I'm the last one to eat. I read the label to make sure it was mine and it was correct but when I opened it, it has falafel, cucumber, tomato, pickled onions, beans, and other stuff and I didn't order a single one of these in my actual bowl. Imagine coming home to eat a bowl you've been craving since work, just to open it and it's not even correct. Mind you, my family also didn't order any of these so it wasn't theirs either. I discovered this joint through social media and wanted to try it for myself. I opted for the kids meal because I wasn't too hungry and didn't want leftovers. I tried the chicken with tomato + cucumber and the roasted corn, I didn't see the fiery broccoli today but I'll have to try it next time I visit. The yogurt dill dip is my favorite, I wasn't too amazed by the crazy feta. I chose the pita chips as my side today but I would definitely pick carrots to dip it in the yogurt dill sauce next time, I find the pita chips to be a bit oily. I came in on 9/13/25 at 11:10 am. I saw a lady coming out with a Cava bag so surely they must be open at 11. When I went inside, staff were taking their break and said they were closed- to come back in 15 minutes. As I walked by the front entrance, I noticed their hours said they opened at 10:45. I went to target and then came back. It was my first time at Cava so I had no clue what to order. I think it would be helpful to have the categories projected to view while waiting in line- or a QR code to view menu. I ordered 2 kids meals, and 2 bowls. I asked for a recommendation but the person attending me told me it was her second day- no worries. I decided to order grilled chicken for myself and my kids, and chicken shawarma for my husband. They had many things to choose from which was great but they were out of Feta cheese and they had just opened which was a let down. My bowl was good. I do wish that they had recommended getting the pita chips as I tasted my daughter's and they were a good pairing with her meal. The 3 stars were for the food. 1 on service- I felt like I was disturbing the time I was there after I was passed from the new hire over to the toppings/cashier. read more

I have wanted to try Cava for so long and finally got the chance to while in Carson. I opted for the hot harissa chicken bowl and it was insanely good. I am still dreaming about it. My meal tasted fresh despite being fast food. It was so easy to place an online order and customize my dish exactly how I wanted it. The pita bread on the side was a great pairing with my meal. I can't wait to go back and try other options on their menu. This particular location is situated in an outdoor shopping area and offers tons of parking. read more

I wanted romaine lettuce & basmati rice as the base. The rice was dry, cold & clump. It was like old rice. The scoop for the dip was a variety of hummus. I was disappointed on the protein either one type or 1/2 of 1/2. So I selected chicken & steak. I thought I'll pay 1/2 price of steak ($3.75) which comes to $1.87 but it was not the case. Plus they would give 2 little scoops of each. This was a total rip off on the amount. The topping was ok even though I can add as much you want, but the server would just add 1 scoop & stop. It is not worth paying $18 for this meal. This is my first & last. Not worth it. I would have gone to Panini kabob grill & buy chicken shish kebab for $19. Better price & taste. read more

The problem as others have mentioned is the lunch lines -- they really need to step up their game in terms of managing the lines at lunch. I finally decided to stop by last week and see why my sister hyped up this place, after sneaking around and taking a few random bites of her food I semi knew what to expect. That was not fun nor appreciated, because I went during my break and I knew I was definitely going to be late going back. The time stated to pick up your order is not when your food will actually be ready, just a friendly FYI. Why even state a specific time when they don't honor it? I definitely won't be doing that anymore. Also, I noticed they were really skimpy on the portion size the second time. I wish I took a picture because it was kind of a joke. It was definitely a lot smaller, like significantly especially in comparison to the first time I went, and that was probably like a week apart. Same location. The salads were absolutely delicious, fresh, perfectly balanced, and honestly some of the best we've had. Julian rang us up and was just as wonderful--friendly, efficient, and welcoming.
