This place is a gimmick, i will not return. We came for a company event in the west private room, next to a private pickle court. It was too hot for pickle ball. The catering & service were excellent, never had to wait for attention or food. Sliders, chicken sliders, Cesar salad, potatoes & chips with chorizo cheese dip. The food was average, nothing special, better than typical company catering. The company provided 2 sink tickets for beer n wine I chose to have a few buffalo trace drinks neat. THIS is where it went south, I was charged $2 each for ordering "neat", supposed "larger pour", the pours were no larger than a regular pour not did they mentioned there would be an additional charge for ordering drinks "neat" or the liquor tax that I've never been charged anywhere else! When I spoke to the manager, she was very dismissive about the additional charges & of course the tip was already added, guess that would be because I was part of the event, my mistake for not getting up to go to the bar on my own. The company was already paying the tip for the event service but I was ordering separately, my bad. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you are looking for an adult amusement park. read more

This was my first time at chicken and pickle. We had a great time. The atmosphere was lively, and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. They have a lot of games to choose from like Pickleball, cornhole, paddle ball, pool and Jenga. They even had these cute igloo Dome hangouts for parties of about six to fit inside them. It was cold outside, but not too bad and I think they had some fire pits and heaters spread out through the place. A few more heaters would've been great around the Jenga areas. Our food wasn't too bad... And my friends said the ribs were great. The guacamole and chips was really good. My husband ate the half chicken with the jerk seasoning and he said it was OK. We will definitely return and hopefully get on the Pickleball courts. The service was great. I've been a loyal customer and have visited your location many times with my family, but my experience today was deeply disappointing. My family and I went to enjoy some time on the courts. The Phoenix Fire Department had reserved several courts, and they kindly invited us to use one that they weren't using. Shortly after, a staff member named Maci, who identified herself as the manager, approached us and told us to leave the court. We explained that the fire department had given us permission to play, but she still called the police on us. Even the person who had reserved the court confirmed to her that it was okay for us to use it, but she refused to listen. What makes this more troubling is that I didn't see anyone else being questioned or asked whether they were part of the fire department. The situation felt discriminatory and left my family and me feeling singled out and humiliated. I hope your management will look into this matter seriously and ensure that no one else has to experience this kind of treatment. Wow! What a very cool facility! Our group of 8 came in and had a great time. We played 2 hours on 2 courts. Servers came to take our orders in between games and we had some tasty cocktails and appetizers. Courts are decent; it's weird that they have sand/beach like dirt outside the courts: it gets on the courts. The dividers between courts are only about 3 ft tall, so the other groups' balls end up in your court a lot. But it's not too terrible. The best part is that after play, we went over to one of the many open tables and had a DELICIOUS meal! We all LOVED what we ordered. We got the chicken and waffles - YUM! I would absolutely order that again! The chicken sandwich and burgers were great too. The sweet potato fries were so good. We go to Chicken N Pickle about once a month with a group. Decided to take our kids to play and have dinner. Usually we go inside and order our own food. This time we sat outside and ordered outside. After ordering food and drinks, we waited more than 15 minutes then had to go inside to get the drinks, no one even offered water for anyone who didn't order a drink (3 people in our party.). Next, after 30 minutes they brought our food with one wrong order and one missing order. Then, 20 minutes later neither order had arrived, so I went in to check. They delivered one but still hadn't put in the order for the missing one. When they finally brought the missing order they realized it was wrong so they gave us a $20 gift card, said they took care of one beer, and introduced a Jonathan who would take care of us going forward to make sure we got better service. Jonathan promptly asked if we needed anything, so I ordered another beer. Mind you, they never once just came around and asked us if we needed anything more. 15 minutes later, we had to ask a waiter to track down Jonathan for the beer. The new waiter left to check but not before having a conversation with a co-worker behind us, wondering around a bit, and 15 minutes later finally arrived with the beer. Jonathan never materialized. When we got the bill, there was an extra beer on it along with the supposed free one. At this point, it wasn't even worth trying to get that fixed. In the future, we'll stick to ordering at the register and avoid the wait staff entirely. They have zero clue. The only time to ask about ordering is while you're playing pickleball and we told them multiple times we didn't want to have food during play but would be ordering after. Disgusting! My rotisserie chicken was still pink and undercooked I told our server and she wanted to argue with me that pink was the normal color. Then the waffles were disgustingly over sweet. It tastes like they use cake batter to make the waffles. Way too sweet and then a giant dollop of margarine to top it off. I've never had a waffle so sweet and heavy. Waffles are supposed to be light and fluffy. My daughter said her Cesar salad was ok. My wife enjoyed her burger though. Chicken & Pickle is great for Pickleball and drinks, but not for service. Our service was extremely slow even to process our payment for the bill. Our server left the building at some point, leaving it very confusing for other staff members when we went to pay our bill. Also they have an allergen list on their website. My husband had chicken wings and fries that were listed as gluten free on their allergen list. He was very sick afterwards, so they were definitely not gluten free. I imagine they are cooked in a shared fryer. If you have any allergies, avoid eating here. read more

Bit of a drive from Scottsdale but totally worth it! We love coming here for pickleball and food! The courts are easy to reserve. The outdoor space is perfect for our pup as well and the atmosphere feels like one big family picnic gathering. The service is always great when we go and the food has been great every time we've gone. We always get the 1/2 chicken, the 1/4 chicken and a side of sweet potato fries to share. The seasoning is always perfect and we love that it comes with a tortilla. The fries can be a little hit or miss but overall they're good. (We are a little sad about the mashed potatoes leaving the menu). Plus you can never go wrong with a little dole whip dessert. Great space in West Gate!! Tried this place with family in from out of town and everything was so much more than we expected!! The pickle ball courts are perfect, every table we saw had a yard jenga game next to it. You can play corn hole, bocce ball, ping pong, battleship, fooseball, shuffle board- and that's all we saw, there could be more! We all had different items from the menu- Chicken n Waffles, NKC Hot Chicken sandwich, Double Smashed Burger, Pulled Pork Sandwich, The Classic Salad, and the Chicken Chipotle Bowl. We had a really great time, we played a lot of indoor Pickleball and we enjoyed the food. The place is a lot of fun and there are many things to do for the whole family like cornhole and table tennis as well as obviously pickle ball. I am a bit hesitant to give this review a four star but they are between "ok" and "great" for me and I have to round up for the value alone. This was my first time in and the space is huge! There are courts of course, both indoor and outdoor, but they also have a large selection of yard games including giant jenga, corn hole, ping pong, and battleship. I wasn't thrilled with the service model, they have you line up for a fast food style order taking experience. You are given a GPS tracked number and cups and find your own seating. Since we were there at lunch we took advantage of the lunch specials, they each include a side (tots or fries) and a fountain drink. I ordered the country fried chicken with tots. The chicken on its own was so salty it was almost inedible, with the bun and toppings it was a bit more mild but the dill mayo had no flavor whatsoever and my tots were room temperature at best. My husband ordered the hot chicken sandwich with fries and overall seemed to enjoy his, he mentioned that he really liked the slaw that came on top and the fries weren't hot but were good. My son had the chicken strips with tots and received three HUGE chicken strips, he barely got through half of one. Our meals were served to our table and we did have a bartender stop by to see if we wanted anything from the bar but otherwise service was underwhelming and there was a significant number of uncleared tables throughout the restaurant and property as we walked around. Pickleball is really picking up across the nation as a fun sport, and this concept of a dining and gaming all in one stop is such a cool idea. Staff were very helpful when we arrived as it was our first time. Arizona weather is always perfect for this type of outing so I appreciated being able to sit outside and let the kids play. There's a full service bar, as well as food options that are reminiscent of a typical family friendly establishment. Food was really good! There were plenty of games to play outside (big connect 4, corn hole, etc.) that you could walk over to and check out with an ID. The check out was actually in the pickleball area. Plenty of tables and chairs in the green space, Adirondack's, tall tables, you name it. There was plenty of room for the kids to run around and for adults to have fun too. Chicken N Pickle is a whole experience. Chicken N Pickle offers more than pickleball. At Chicken N Pickle there are fitness classes that include yoga. Their are also large yard games to enjoy. While the courts, paddles and balls are rented, the lawn games are free. They include such favorites as giant Jenga and Battleship. Guest may bring their own balls and paddles. Balls and paddles are also available for purchase. Chicken N Pickle also has a full restaurant and bar. We had a wonderful time brunching at Chicken N Pickle. There are two brunch options. Guests may order from a full brunch menu, or opt for the brunch buffet. Our party opted for the brunch buffet. Brunch buffet is ordered at the counter. Diners received a wristband as proof they had ordered the buffet. A mix of healthy and not so healthy options. There were quite a few vegetarian options. My favorites were the French toast, power salad, and brownie. French toast looked to be hand dipped. The slices were a nice size for a buffet. It paired well with their bourbon maple syrup. Regular maple syrup was also available. Power salad had quinoa, beets, arugula, almonds and feta cheese. Along with the fresh fruit (which was also delicious,) it made me feel like I was making a healthy choice. The sweet beets paired well with the salty feta, nuts, and the tangy arugula. The not so healthy brownie was also one of my favorites. The brownie was rich and fudgie. Brownie had a strong chocolate flavor. My children were particularly fond of the make your own tacos/fajitas. Watermelon and pineapple agua fresca was refreshing. There was a strong watermelon flavor with a hint of pineapple. Food was made with quality ingredients. Bingo! Chicken N Pickle had bingo while we were there. Bingo was free to play. The game was open to all ages. Each round had prizes to win. My kids were really into it the whole experience. They wished we could have stayed longer. (We had something scheduled.) We had a great time as a family. My kids were talking about "next time we come," as we were walking to our car. It is worth noting that Chicken N Pickle is a cashless business. The system is run much like a bar in that customers open a tab, and close out when ready to leave.
