Went here for lunch today. First time trying this place out and was shocking surprised. Ordered a chicken salad with a side of pimento cheese and a broccoli and cheese soup. The chicken salad sandwich was pretty good. The bread they use match the chicken salad well and the sandwich was very pleasant. I love pimento cheese but theirs wasn't it for me. It was pretty dry with barely any mayo. If you like pimento cheese with very little mayo then it's for you. Overall the food was pretty good and the place was pretty clean. Overall a healthy and tasty lunch! I tried Olivia's old south chicken salad and it was great! Loved the sweet relish taste. The pasta salad was ok. It was pretty dry. The loaded potato soup was delicious. It all came with a pickle and an abundance of crackers. The service was pretty good. I asked for suggestions and was able to same a few of the chicken salad flavors in order to make my decision. I'm not sure if it was shift change, but all of the employees disappeared at one point and my to go order was sitting in the window for a few minutes while I stood at the counter. Finally got a chance to try the new Chicken Salad Chick off of Huntersville - Mt Holly Road. in person. Very good. They have dine in now but my wife is still afraid of Dining Out so we got two dinners to go. She had the Chicken Salad with Fruit which is called a Fancy Nancy. I had the Turkey Pesto which was excellent. This as a good as any we have had in Marietta GA where we were first introduced to this chain. Service was okay, I just didn't like the server going back and forth with me about no cheese on my sandwich. Told me they can't do the sandwich without cheese which made no sense. We've got no Chicken Salad Chick all that close to us but this fairly new location is a couple miles closer than the one in Concord and easy to get to via 485 to the Brookshire. Ordered curbside takeout online but you can go and order at the back of the place where they've got a tent and table set up. Stood in a short, socially distance line (Note to lady who looked at the line and then proceeded to skip it... Don't do things like that ever but, especially in a pandemic.), got the to-go back and headed off to deliver a surprise batch of Fancy Nancy to the in-laws, then home. I have passed this place many times in the past when visiting people in the area but this one time I had the time to stop and go inside. The restaurant is located in a strip mall near and AT&T, a Jersey Mikes and a Nail Salon. Parking can be tricky either there is ample or it fills up quickly so it just depends on the time of day. I went inside where there are some eat-in bistro tables. Then you go over to the counter and pull your choices from a case. They make a variety of types of chicken salad and have drinks and it is all very simple. I selected the Fruity Fran which is a chicken salad with Grapes. I asked for some kind of bread or roll and they sold me a croissant. When I got home I tasted the salad and was unimpressed. It was bland at best and thankfully it had the grapes and I think apples in it as they added something interesting. I then spread it on the croissant as a sandwich and bit into it. The bread tasted dry almost like day-old bread where the consistency is just not good. I threw most of it out and just used my fork on the remaining salad. Gosh I want to like this place. It is so close to my house. I went opening week and had a bad experience but didn't want to review based on that. Then I got it a week or so ago in the middle of the afternoon and it was fine. But today, I ordered a half an hour ago, and I'm standing in the store writing this waiting on my food. Its chicken salad. Its pre-made. I have no idea why it would take 30 minutes to put a scoop on a croissant and a tomato and lettuce. Being a traditionalist, I selected the Classic Carol on wheat toast, fruit cup side as well as a bag of chips. The sandwich was so thick and filling I was able to eat the other half later. Trunk or treat event Tuesday was great, but food wait and service was terrible. I am a big fan of Chicken Salad Chick & excites to have one closer to home. Tuesday evening wait staff standing around waiting for kitchen to prepare food. I ordered 2 kids meal waited 25-30 min & finally asked how much longer. Well come to find out the did not have any Olivias South and the kitchen never notified anyone. Supervisor on duty seemed overwhelmed.
