Usually, the food here is excellent but when I visited yesterday (3/2) the chicken was bland and dry. My mushroom could have stood in the grease a minute or two longer, because the batter/crust was a little soft. The cook also failed to add the butter sauce on the potatoes. I don't usually like to leave reviews like this, but if the owners/managers don't know the customers weren't happy with their meal things won't change. Chicken Shack is still one of my go-to spots. I always order the combo with ribs and drumsticks, opting for the barbecue style. I pair it with the Shack Potatoes and an extra side of butter. This isn't exactly low-calorie fare, but it's the perfect indulgence every now and then. The meal usually comes with a roll on the side--super tasty and incredibly filling. We always go to the chicken shack on Woodward in Bloomfield Hills. We order the eight piece all dark with barbecue sauce on it, roasted potatoes, and coleslaw. It's really good their barbecue chicken if you choose to get it that way, you'll be very satisfied. The price is a little high, but chicken is not cheap these days. read more

This was our first Chicken Shack experience today and I was impressed. I get coupons in the mail periodically and always keep them but have never used them. They are currently doing take out only and this one is the closest to our home. I studied the menus, coupons, and photos and read a few of the reviews and decided on the BOGO50%Off dinners. When we arrived late morning it was not too busy so I ordered one 4-pc Chicken Dinner and one 5-pc Cod Fish Dinner both with Onion Rings and a Roll. It took a total of about ten minutes for the order to come up which tells me it wasn't picked out of a warming tray but cooked hot and fresh when ordered. I stopped to grab a few paper napkins and headed out the door! We were on our way to an appointment so we had to eat in the car; I'm not very good at eating in the car unless it is something I can hold in my hand, like a sandwich and not chicken with bones. The Chicken was very hot and the taste was delicious; not as greasy or salty as what we expect at KFC. The breading had great crunch as well. The Cod was similarly really good with taste and crunch and I had thought we were splitting everything, when I asked about another piece of fish, my wife showed me the empty container. A word on the Onion Rings that were crunchy, tasty, and the onion did not pull out of the breading like so many places. Overall a great experience with friendly staff and tasty food. I have to say I am still pretty sore about how Chicken Shack took their chicken bites and shrunk the portions, and changed the batter. I have to say it is awful, and it is a lot harder batter. I did reach out on social media, and they responded that they didn't shrink the portions, only the batter. I sent them. Before and after that, I have uploaded it to this review. I guess I am pretty bitter because this was my favorite item to get next to the English cod. Other than that, the guy who took my order was nice read more

Good food. They need to fix their location on the website map. Their chicken is usually moist and delicious, I love their English Style Cod dinner. Their coleslaw creamy how I like it and their roasted potato chunks coated in butter are to die for. This is a new location so their staff is new and not as experienced as other locations. read more

Ordered carry out for the family. I have never had dryer chicken. Even the chicken thighs. Everything was overcooked including the potatoes. The coleslaw was the only good thing about the meal. So this location just just opened! I drove by awhile ago and seen signage and thought to good to be true this close to home. Nope did my research this place just opened like within the week! Was super happy and surprised to find they had online ordering already Up and running! So reserved my time ordered my food and it was ready right at pick up time! The food was all hot and fresh! Happy to see they didn't use styrofoam boxes it makes fried food nasty so fast. This was carboardish and didn't nearly retain as much moisture! Mmm, there's nothing like serious comfort food on a long drive home. My hubby, TPT, and I stopped in for a quick take out and were not disappointed. This was my first chicken shack experience and I am hooked! The chicken was tender, crispy, and the sandwich as a whole was perfect. The potato bites?! Oh baby, drowning in a delicious butter sauce just waiting to be devoured. I seriously couldn't get enough of the potatoes. The wait was a little long, but overall, it was well worth the wait. Tried calling 5 times to order and was hung up on. Finally ordered on line. I realize Covid has an impact but when I arrived to pick up they said they had no on line order for me. First time at this location. Although food seems as normal. Customer service was horrible. Upon entering, the cashier SCREAMS that she needs help. Now. There were only 2 ppl waiting. When I was helped by a diff associate I had asked for an extra sauce. Since no sauce was on the ribs. This was for 8 ribs, not a 4 snack. She only responded with ".78!" First, I had pre paid.
