Mix of fried and baked legs and wings.
    Clariee J.

3.5 stars Support black businesses! I really love this concept: buy the size container you want, then stuff it to capacity with your choice of chicken (fried and baked), rolls, and potato wedges. There's no tables or chairs or anything in here; just a kitchen in the back, a register, and a small buffet cart with about 4-5 places for food. I came in today around noon and bought a small bucket ($13.20 with tax) and was told to "fill it with as much as you want. The lid has to be able to close." Challenge accepted. I grabbed some plastic gloves (I wish all buffets had them available!) and got to work. I got about 8 pieces of chicken in there (5 legs, 3 wings) and could have put more in, but I didn't feel like playing Tetris with the bucket. But no doubt, I can get 10 pieces in there, maybe 12 if i just get legs. I got baked and fried chicken. I was a little disappointed in the seasonings on the fried. It was perfectly cooked, though. Crunchy on the outside, very juicy on the inside. But it needed salt. No problem; I was planning on adding hot sauce anyway. The baked chicken was seasoned really well and was also cooked perfectly. I like this place. It's no fuss, get in get out. Chicken lovers, go check it out!

Well my friend kept telling me how fresh the chicken is here and how every Every is cooked fresh. That wasn't the case for me today. This restaurant is cafeteria style. When i came in, there was already fried and baked chicken sitting in the trays. It didn't look too fresh. There was only one potato log and one dinner roll left. I got the small size meal and put a lot of the baked chicken in. I picked over the fried chicken and wasn't too pleased with the quality. I waited for the guy in the back to bring out fresher meet but he only brought out a few more logs and rolls. This restaurant is very convenient but isn't anything if the chicken isn't fresh. This isn't an eat in restaurant. I brought my chicken home with me and put it in the oven. After tasting it, the chicken was delicious! I just wish i could've had it when it was fresh. For that, i give this yelp review 3 stars

Food was edible at best. Service was terrible. And the owner acted like I owed her reparations because I ate there. What a joke.

Good chicken! Only I got less than a pound of chicken for 10.00. A lesson learned. In this case you don't get what you pay for

Every one of the sides looks so good and fresh that I wanted to get each one of them just to try it! The fish was cooked perfectly and was nice and tender. The added little muffin I didn't expect was a nice touch and delicious. The collard greens were SO GOOD. I'd get them again. So flavorful and cooked well. The beets were fresh and the goat cheese carried so much flavor. For the desserts, we got the carrot cake with pecans and chocolate cheesecake. Both were soooo good. I would get both of them again, especially the carrot cake which was so warm and moist. And the candied pecans were such a nice complement to the cake - not too sweet at all. The ambience is super nice and fresh, and our server was so sweet and engaging. The hostess as well. Everybody there was so nice and welcoming. Highlight of the drive. For the first time, today was different. The very friendly young women who first greeted us and guided us through the menu years ago are gone. In their place are unfriendly young ladies who would far prefer to chat with each other than provide even acceptable-level service. We were tolerated, not welcomed or even checked on to see if we wanted anything. I waited and waited for her to notice me at about ten feet away as I waved my empty beer can in hopes of getting a second one. Finally I had to interrupt the conversation between the waitresses by raising my voice above their conversation, "excuse me, may I have another?" Again, we were there early today. Just before 5:00 PM. That is how timing works when you are on the road. So the place was nearly empty. They weren't busy with customers. They were busy chatting amongst themselves. As we completed our fried chicken (still very good), she came by and did not ask if we wanted anything else but simply said "ready for the check?" It was a way to make us feel like we needed to leave. To add insult to injury, we passed by the hostess table outside on our way to the car as we left and we happened to pass between two Champy's young female employees chatting at the hostess station and blocking the way out. We had to say "excuse me" and walk between then as they kept talking to each other. Never did they bother to say "thanks for coming, please come back soon." So maybe after all this time...we won't.

If one can't walk that far there is parking around the warehouse that Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen and other shops are located in. It was a quiet afternoon around 2 pm. Our waitress was prompt and answered our questions. I was happy to see they had gluten free bread/buns. I ordered the Whisky and onion smash burger on a gluten free bun and it was so good I tried to replicate the topping with what I had back at the Airbnb we were staying at. When I get home I'll check out the ingredients better and give it another try. I had a side of green beans nicely seasoned with bacon as my side. My husband, bless his heart, ordered the honey pecan chicken salad sandwich on gluten free bread so I could taste it. It was also delicious and he had a side of home fries to die for. We would definitely come back and try more of their menu if in the area again.

You walk in and you choose your table and a nice waitress will bring your menus. We like the chicken strip basket which comes with two sides. Of our favorites are the fries, the collard greens, green beans, and mac and cheese. The chicken strips are very crispy, the meat is just a little dry but the flavor is great with even the mild level heat having nice heat. We also got the catfish which has a perfect crust and perfectly cooked inside. The baskets come with sauce and you get two per order. Probably more than you'll need. The tenders were cooked fresh and were piping hot when they arrived. The chicken was dusted with mild heat seasoning. Outside of that seasoning, they weren't seasoned with anything else. We both remarked that we've had better Nashville hot tenders and better tenders in general. The Mac and cheese was just okay but the greens were the star of the meal. They were flavorful, meaty and had just enough kick to keep things interesting. Good meal overall. I recommend that you try them out. We will return to try other menu items.

Everything about this experience was top-notch! From being seated quickly upon entering, to explaining how the ticket validation thing worked (more info at the end), customer service was some of the best I've been shown. The ambiance is chic but casual-great for both cozy date night or fun family night. Our server was so friendly and patient as we asked questions about the menu. I ordered the grilled salmon with spicy crab remoulade and my guy ordered the smoked wings with a side of fries. I was happy that I was able to select my own sides from the ones on the menu so I opted for the fried Brussels sprouts with maple and bacon and the buttermilk whipped potatoes. After a short wait, our food was brought out. This was truly one of the best salmon dishes I have ever eaten! The salmon was cooked to my liking, the potatoes were soft and fluffy and the fried Brussels sprouts were absolutely divine and perfect. The remoulade was a little salty but it may have been just been my taste. The potatoes helped with that so it was not a deal breaker. My guy was pleased with his food as well and I could tell he enjoyed everything he ate. We agreed that we would take this trip back just to eat this meal again. It was truly a wonderful experience, from beginning to end. I highly recommend trying this gem out! Pro Tip: The restaurant validates parking. If you park in the lot across the street, do not prepay on the app or online. Ask the servers at the front to validate to save the $18 parking fee before you order and within 15 minutes after entering. Unfortunately, we didn't do this and the restaurant cannot reimburse the money after you've already paid. You've been warned!
