This place is pretty clutch. I found out about this place from another foodie. I have to check this out for myself. Hearing a lot of noise surrounding their cheesesteaks I was tempted to try. I stopped in one afternoon grabbed a cheese steak onions mayonnaise the usual. Also an Italian hoagie. The hoagie was pretty decent usually I don't order Italian hoagies. I wanted to give this a shot, may not be the best that I've had but was very solid. Now the cheesesteak was on a delicious roll soft still soaking up the juices from the steak. Once again a solid option here. I won't go that's crazy ass some say that this is the best cheesesteak by far however the buffalo style chicken cheesesteak is the true champion here. Just thinking about is making my mouth water at 1:30 AM lol. Packed with the kick of spice and heat the chicken cheesesteak feels less guilty eating than the regular cheesesteak and if you want to switch things up and add a little tang that's a great choice to make. Easy to order. Pickup service is a bit chaotic but not a huge problem. Italian hoagies were very good. Only complaint is that I ordered extra meat on 1 of two and was hardly noticeable despite being up charged $4. Regardless, the hoagies ate very well indeed. read more

We found this place online as one of the best cheese steaks in nj. Original we took a ride down there from Jackson on Labor Day. Yelp said they were open. We get there and they were closed. It was a bummer because we were starving!!! So we made another trip down the following week and ordered a cheesesteak. Looking at the sandwich, it's a pretty good sized sandwich..... maybe 12"s. There wasn't a generous amount of steak or fillings.... it was just enough and in some spots there wasn't any steak. The steak part of the sandwich seemed like it may have been a grade above steak em's. Not sure what they use but isn't shaved prime rib or some other premium meat. The bread was good, nothing really special. Mushrooms were canned mushrooms. Over all it was an okay sandwich. Nothing about it was amazing. Maybe there is a special sandwich they make there that is amazing???? I don't know, I though the cheese steak was it. Kinda a let down. Once again yelp reviews left us disappointed. Update: went back 2 days later at lunch time (first stop to which I gave 5 stars was at dinner), and the experience wasn't the same. I made nearly the same order as the first time (cheesesteak with onions and provolone, just no mushrooms). This one tasted not only like a completely different sandwich, but like a completely different establishment crafted it. Everything felt DRY, had to open up the bread to see if cheese was even on it! More of a steak sandwich than a cheesesteak. However, they sure weren't shy with the onions, and the bread was pretty good. There was definitely a different person manning the grill and making the sandwiches this time. The first time, I believe the owner himself did it, and it was masterful. This time, I don't know what happened other than disappointment. Would I go back? Sure, if in the area. Is Chick's worth a pilgrimage? The first cheesesteak was, the second definitely was not. This is our go-to cheesesteak place in Cherry Hill. They will take the phone off the hook when it gets busy, so when you call and it doesn't go through you know they're slammed. My photo is from Saturday at 2:30 in the afternoon.. and this is after it cleared out a bit. All tables were full with customers and a line of people waiting for to-go orders. Definitely recommend! AC cheese steaks are BETTER!!! I ordered a cheese steak with fried onions. Not much evidence of onions or cheese. The meat was pretty good as well as the bread but i'm not much for the soft role unless its toasted more on the outside. I had to stop here after getting a recommendation to visit. I got the cheese steak with peppers and mushrooms. It was pretty good, the bread was soft and fresh, cheese was good, and peppers and mushrooms tasted great, the steak for some reason was bland to me. It didn't have flavor, mostly just tasted everything else. It still was a good sandwich though. The place was packed, it's been there for over 60 years. You'd never know it's there if you're driving bc it's in a back alley, definitely a hidden gem. If I'm in the area, definitely will try the Italian because it looked good too. Simple sandwich based menu that also includes potato salad, chicken soup during the winter, breakfast sandwiches, and wraps. Had some potato salad and a chicken cheese steak with broccoli rabe, mushrooms and onions. Bread was definitely the best part! Not chewy at all, just perfectly soft and delicious. Well cooked chicken and mixed in with a healthy amount of veggies. Came out pipping hot and was just perfect! Don't think one person could finish the standard sandwich. Potato salad was very simple and no frills was but was delicious all the same. Staff was nice. Inside was simple and clean. I tried Chick's as part of my ever-ongoing cheesesteak crusade. They're hidden off the Marlton Pike and aren't obvious to find the first time around. Their reputation precedes them as one of the best cheesesteaks in the area. While it's better than most of your around-the-corner pizzerias, it's not in the same league as what you can get in Philly. I'm from TEXAS and I know nothing about cheesesteaks, but I will tell you that I went to 2 of the most popular cheesesteak places in Philly and Chicks blows them out of the water!!!! My experience was even better. I walked in alone with my 9month old daughter and a backpack. I can't remember the gentleman's name but he helped me with the menu and also saw I had my hands full so after I ordered he walked me to a clean table, brought me a high chair for the baby and even served my soft drink. WOW! Customer Service!! After I was done I cleaned up and went to the register to pay and we talked a minute or two. He said I know how you feel I also have a daughter and it's a lot of work. Haha.
