I'd give the food a 7.5/10! I ordered here for takeout. I have been on the hunt for a good sushi/asian spot on the East side. I ordered the firecracker roll. I'm glad I tried it on the way home because it was a lot better than when I got home since it became cold. The ingredients appeared fresh and the ginger set the roll off . I enjoyed the crunch of the asparagus inside the roll as well. The restaurant was small, quiet and quaint for a Friday night . The guy at the counter was really nice and energetic. He suggested I try the White Tiger roll when I return. I also had the pineapple fried rice which was a pretty large portion. The dish has a curry zing to it which I didn't mind. The shrimp were large and fresh. I would give this place another try but I'm not head over heels about it! read more

We were craving Chinese food and Chico and Chang is our usual spot. We couldn't find street parking so we parked at the adjacent lot. Parking for an hour is $7. We were confused when we first walked in because they renovated the place! It looks beautiful and added a bar for take out pick up. They also now serve bubble tea!! We ordered lemon pepper wings, tofu with Szechuan sauce and house lo mein. They must have been really busy with take outs because typically the food comes out quick but we waited quite a bit. Our food lacked flavor. We were also rushing since our parking time was almost over. I enjoyed my bubble tea though and even though our food took awhile, service was good. read more

This was a quick stop but it was a worth it stop! Now if you're looking for all the bells and whistles of flower walls, chandeliers, colorful seating, loud music this won't be the place for you but if you want good customer service and food this is the spot for you. It is a clean, small, quaint spot, in a great location. The staff was very very nice and our waitress knew the menu well and was very helpful. ***Buyers Beware*** The prices online were not what we were charged. $9.75 online to $15.95 actual price. And, they did not want to discuss it one bit. They were very rude when asked about the price difference. The food was mediocre at best. The rice was bland. The Mongolian chicken was mostly onions and scallions with a dash of chicken. Went on a Saturday around 5, for an early dinner. I was the only 1 in there for most of my meal, until right at the end, when a group of 3 came in. There was A LOT of foot traffic in between though, so I'm guessin' either I was in a "between meal blind spot" or foot traffic is the norm for C and C. The waitress was VERY helpful and attentive (Although, I didn't have much competition for her attention either). The food was good, the portions made me happy and the expanse of the menu was much appreciated, although when you're serving 3 different cuisines, I would expect as much! =) I can only speak for the taste and quality of the Chinese food, but it was good and satisfying enough overall, to make me wanna come back and try the Mexican and/or the Japanese options. They also sell things like wings, burgers, etc. So if everyone in the family wants something different, this could potentially be your one stop shop. That said, It's cool, but I haven't had anything that I just really like. So far, the quesadilla was probably the best thing I've had. The broccoli with beef lunch special was okay. The portions were good for the lunch size, and I did like the veggie spring roll and crab Rangoon that came with it. The hot braised wings were a no for me. Don't let the photo fool you, these things were super small... like smaller than American Deli. The actual chicken was dry, but then drowning in sauce. Ok. So this place has a mix of Mexican, Japanese, and Chinese food (and Thai). I think that will tell you that most of it is not necessarily going to be Michelin level. But, heres the thing: It hits the spot. Pretty much everything i get here is a solid B/B+ with an occasional A. And having such a crazy menu means everybody gets what they want. Really clean restaurant. Located in the Glenwood Grant Park area. Turnaround time for lunch and dinner: both are always fast. The food is always hot and good. The area itself is a complete vibe. This is the fusion you didn't ask for but also not mad at. According to my order the Mexican food takes president, the tacos and enchiladas were surprisingly good. The lo mein was NOT. Prices are fairly cheap and delivery was crazy fast, everything arrived HOT. I honestly didn't expect much from this place so I was pleasantly surprised. My wife and I come here about once a month, it's become our go-to for Chinese in the area, just because it's the best out of the choices around. They're pretty consistent with their food and service and that's a main reason we come back. So far we've had their wonton soup, mushu pork, curry beef and Mongolian beef, and all have been good. If you order curry beef and like it spicy ask for more sauce. We usually order take out just because we got used to that from the pandemic but they do have seating and very good table service. Out of the 5 or 6 Chinese takeout places around we consider them the best so that's why the 5 star, normally they would be a 4 star but options are limited around us so I am giving them a 5 in comparison. Being that it's in a fun/trendy area, they could definitely step it up some and make the dining room more inviting. The service is also very average. It's a good fill of that salty American-Chinese (and Mexican although we didn't test that this time) food. It's as solid as any around. We liked pretty much everything we got although the pork lo mein was only ok (not a ton of flavor). The husband and I drove by Chico and Chang's before it opened and I thought, "What a cute name for a fusion restaurant, I love it already!" So needless to say, I was super excited to try it when it opened....Not what I was expecting at all....I can't say I don't like it because we've eaten there twice this week, but it certainly was not the funky cool fusion experience I was expecting. The space is clean and reasonably comfortable. They ask if you want to take out or dine in. If you're dinning in, they seat you, bring out chips and salsa, and the menu...the menu is Asian on one side, Mexican on the other...the only fusion you will get is if you dip your crab Rangoon in your salsa, which I tried and don't recommend. There's actually some "American" cuisine items on there too (e.g., cheeseburger, hamburger, ribs, etc.), so maybe they should consider Chico, Chang, & Charlie? Overall, the food is decent...the Chinese is definitely better than the Mexican, but it's nice to have a choice. I ordered the chili rellano both times, first the beef (was not a fan, literally unseasoned, sauceless, beef), then the cheese (greasy, cheesy perfection). The husband ordered tangerine things both times, first the chicken (delicious), then the beef (equally delicious). We used to love this place for takeout. We'd ordered dozens of times with no problem. Loved the food. The last time, though, was the second time in a row that we got home and discovered something missing. So we called them to complain and ask for a refund. When they told me the manager was "busy packing orders" and would call me later, I told them I wanted to speak with the manager now because I was pis*sed that this was the second time in a row they'd not given us something we paid for. The employee then proceeded to hang up on me. I called back because I thought we must have been disconnected. But she confirmed that she hung up on me and accused me of "raising my voice" (hardly) and cursing her out (if "pis*sed" counts as a curse word). She then hung up on me again. Our many subsequent calls were ignored. Look, I know the restaurant business is tough, customers can be difficult and sometimes genuinely abusive. No one in the service industry should have to suffer abuse. I get it. I sympathize. But my complaint, and the way it was spoken, was far, far, far from out of bounds. I was just a very unhappy customer who'd just lost money for a second time and dealing with unhappy customers is part of running a business, isn't it?
