Horrible food! The Szechuan Beef was oily for some reason and not near as spicy as I am used to. Fried rice was not completely fried if that makes sense...no peas and carrots like most fried rice has. No flavor, just bland rice. Egg roll was good though, but that's kind of a given. Wife had their Pad Thai and it also was greasy and too sweet. She liked the spring rolls... but that was it. I'll not go here again, and furthermore, I'll not go to a Chinese restaurant that serves any othe Asian cuisine! Service? What service? Girl had zero personality and all she did was take our orders and let us know that our food was ready. (Stapled in a brown bag after we had told her we were dining in!) And no napkins??? Seriously!? This place is consistently closed during scheduled business hours. On more than one occasion I've called to order for pick up or tried to used a delivery site for pick up during their business hours and they've been closed. Their food is also inconsistent. Today, 6/23/23 and ordered PAD THAI, Spring Rolls, 5 piece fried chicken wings. That was the worst food, I have ever had. The chicken wings appeared to have been either heated up or refried. I ordered take out. the General Tso's chicken (very spicy), egg rolls, and the Pu Pu Plate. The order came out to $34.63 which included a 15% tip. The General Tso's wasn't spicy at all so don't be afraid to ask them to ramp it up if you desire spicy. It did taste very good though and had a good texture of crunch on the fried coating. The fried rice I choice with it was ok. The egg rolls were good, nicely fried. The Pu Pu plate came with 2 each of Spring Rolls, chicken wings, fried chicken on a stick, pot stickers, crab Rangoon, and fried shrimp. The spring rolls were really good, I would choose these over their egg rolls. The fried shrimp was basic but alright. The chicken wingers were fried good and honestly plain so I would maybe ask to get them tossed in a sauce. The pot stickers or dumplings were pretty good, decent taste to them and were not over fried. The chicken on a stick had a slight curry taste and was excellent. The crab ragoon, which normally I am not a fan of, actually were fried perfectly and had a good amount of filling that tasted really good. Trash Chinese food. I'm so confused by some of these reviews we can't be eating the same food. The chicken is slimy and has a weird taste and after taste. The coconut soup was so good and I was excited about it till I had a bite of the chicken that was in the soup disgusting af!! They shouldn't even add chicken to the coconut soup, it's unnecessary! I've noticed a trend lately. I keep going into restaurants/hole in the walls with low expectations and getting blown away by the flavors. That's definitely the case for New Dragon Chinese & Thai. So good was this place that we went back a couple days after our first visit just to be sure that it wasn't hunger that made the food taste so good. Fortunately for us, it was just that good! We've now gone about 5 times in the past few months. So what did we get during our latest visit? We tried: 8 piece Braised wings ($7.50) Spicy basil beef ($9.45) Moo Goo Gai pan ($9.25) Chicken chow fun noodles ($8.95) One of the better things about New Dragon is their dishes all have some kick to them. If it's a spicy dish, it's probably going to be a spicy dish. That includes the spicy basil beef and braised wings. Braised wings come in 8 or 12 with rice. I typically get plain fried rice, which is cooked well but isn't the star of this dish. The wings are crispy, with a semi sweet braised sauce and the wings themselves are not scrawny. Great deal here. The spicy basil beef comes with strips of tender beef, onions, red and green bell peppers and steamed white rice. The sauce here is much more savory, but the beef is delicious, and the basil is strong (in a good way) here. It's becoming a favorite. Moo goo Gai pan came with chunks of white meat chicken in a sauce and veggies including celery, carrot, water chestnut, bell pepper, baby corn and steamed rice. More salty than others, the veggies here are fresh, but finishing this can be a challenge from the salt Finally the chicken chow fun noodles were so delicious, although greasy. These thin noodles that are stir fried with veggies just hop in your mouth with ease. We don't get it often but man I enjoy it. This is a small little shop with outdoor and indoor seating, though it's not enough space for a group of you and your friends to have a meal. It's more of a get it and go type of place. Customer service is hit or miss,with the misses being more about staff not answering calls for call in orders. There is a website for online ordering if you can't get through via phone. Located off of collier road, New Dragon is located in a very small strip that sits alongside a dry cleaner. Parking spots are at a premium here, but there is a couple of parking spots in the rear of the strip. Probably our go to Chinese spot in the area close to us for the time being, i've enjoyed everything here and will be back! read more

With shelter in place, I was craving Chinese food last Friday and after researching some options online, decided to order here via UberEats. My husband and I had the Sweet & Sour Pork and Singapore Style Chow Mei Fun. Everything was delicious and this is our new go-to for Chinese take out now. The Sweet & Sour Pork came with peppers and onions (love it when places do this) and the Chow Mei Fun had tons of flavor. The portions are GREAT for the price - I think we had leftovers for another 2 meals! Service was fast, orders came exactly as expected. Although I have not tried the food here, I have to say something about the kindness of the owner/manager. I was across the street at the BBQ place for an event when my phone took the plunge into the toilet. It felt like my world ended! I've heard that placing a phone in dry rice may help save the phone but the BBQ place had no rice on premises. One of the people at the event pointed out New Dragon across the street and suggested I try asking them. I didn't have high hopes but the manager who was working that night (possibly the owner) was so kind after I told him about my predicament that he actually took my phone and placed it in a to-go bag of rice! I've been here 3 times - first visit, it was 30 min before close but they had already shut their kitchen and I was turned away - second visit, General Tso's Chicken with Hot and Sour Soup: Soup was pretty good but the General's Chicken tasted like reheated fried chicken chunks. I live next door and this is my go-to neighborhood Chinese takeout place. The portions are huge- perfect for 2 or to eat for 2 meals. The flavors are awesome! We tend to get the General Tso's and I've come to prefer it over most other Chinese places I go to now. Super crispy and savory I love it. Another fave is the shrimp fried rice. Chinese takeout is one of my guilty pleasures. I have traditionally picked something a bit closer in neighborhoods but this was my quickest option on Ubereats. This is IT for me from here out. Got a General Tso combo plate with a side of Crab Rangoon and a side of Fried Dumplings. The combo plate came with hot and sour soup that I actually wanted to eat... usually it's like some weird goo that goes down the drain. Chicken wasn't over fried or over sauced in fact my lips still burn a bit meaning it was actually seasoned. The dumplings... they were fried completely and I could taste ginger. The Thai food wasn't good I've tried it twice. The first time I tried basil rice with shrimp and chicken And they charged about 11 to 12 dollars and gave me 3 shrimp and two chunks of chicken ideally when you add a meat they give you the meat plus what you added but no they split it and charged me for extra. The coconut soup was good (although I wish I could have had tofu instead of chicken). The shrimp fried and rice and vegetable fried rice were both good. The basic fried rice that comes with entrees was plain and not with flavor. My family reports that the Happy Family had tough squared meat in it, but was with good flavor. I ordered food for delivery the other night and was underwhelmed to say the least. I placed the order at 7:15 and the estimate said the food would be delivered at 8:30. At 8:40 our food has not arrived, so I called the restaurant and they told me the driver had just left 5 minutes ago. The restaurant is only 10 minutes from my apartment so I figured the food should be there soon. Fast forward to 9:15 and the food had still not arrived. I call again and the woman calls the driver who says he'll be to our place in 15 minutes. She tells me it's their busiest night and they only have one driver. That's not an excuse! If you know it's your busiest night, hire another driver! Finally the food arrived at 9:40 - over 2 and a half hours after ordering. Needless to say, the food was cold from sitting in the car for an hour, and one of our dishes leaked sauce everywhere. Overall, the food itself wasn't great either. Hot & sour soup, Kung Pao chicken and General Tso's chicken were all average at best. The mu shu pork was slightly better. They also gave us white rice when we ordered brown rice. read more

Currently in Buckhead for the week and wanted delivery--My search ended with New Dragon because they had decent reviews, a fair delivery price and a pretty extensive menu. Welp... I probably should've just gone to bed--because I spent $35 and still went to bed hungry. The Thai hot and sour soup was a watery red broth with no hint of Thai--or taste whatsoever. I ate the 5 mushrooms floating in it and moved on to the overcooked chicken skewers, the tough skinned Crab Rangoon, and General's Chicken jerky... apparently the theme of the night was bland and overcooked--that's it. My son had braces and gnawed on a piece of chicken for almost two minutes before giving up. Kudos for the delivery service--it was quick and the food, though inedible, was hot. The saving grace was the order of fried scallops--they were basic, but lightly breaded/sweet and satisfying. Whomever cooked the SOUL out of the rest of my meal did NOT touch the scallops. read more

I've ordered through New Dragon (at least) 50 times in the past year and their response to me was that they wouldn't stand by their product and there is nothing they will do to correct the situation.
