The absolute star of the show for me was the Hotate Crème Brûlée -- I genuinely could have eaten 10 of these. It really does taste like dessert in the best way, and I honestly wish I had saved it to be my very last bite of the night! The scallop crudo was another favorite. The combination of the yuzu and strawberries was so fresh and delicious and worked perfectly with the scallop. The only miss for me was the "Bomb." There was so much yolk from the quail egg that I really couldn't taste much of the caviar or steak. We ordered two, and next time I'd personally save the $30 and put it toward trying another roll instead! We also got the ceviche roll, which was honestly crazy because it somehow tastes JUST like ceviche, and the rainbow roll, which was amazing as well. Service was wonderful, and they were so kind and accommodating with my allergy, which I really appreciated. Overall, we had a great experience and I'd definitely come back -- especially for about 10 more Hotate Crème Brûlées!

I consider myself someone with a pretty discerning taste when it comes to sushi, so unfortunately,…read morethis wasn't a place I'd choose to return to. The sushi was fine, but nothing really stood out enough to make me want to come back. We started with the crispy tuna, and I felt the base was missing flavor. I've honestly had much better versions at other sushi restaurants. We also ordered the roll with fried shrimp and salmon on top. I had it not torched, as recommended. It was still very rich and heavy because of the aioli. I tried removing the aioli, but unfortunately, once removed, the roll became much less rich **and** rather tasteless. There was no ginger or wasabi served with the sushi either, which I found disappointing. And the baked Alaska... was probably the biggest disappointment. It was tiny, had a yuzu flavor, and tasted much more like cheesecake than baked Alaska. It also didn't really feel like baked Alaska at all -- and it definitely wasn't baked. My husband doesn't eat sushi, so he ordered the chicken katsu and actually really enjoyed it, so perhaps the non-sushi options are stronger. But for me, personally, I'd choose a different restaurant for a sushi dinner where I can leave with a clean palate and feel like I had something special. **P.S.** I was also disappointed by the lack of any acknowledgment of our wedding anniversary. Our reservation clearly stated that we were celebrating our anniversary, yet nothing was done to make the occasion feel special -- not even a complimentary dessert or a little "Happy Anniversary" message on the dessert we purchased ourselves. It's a small gesture, but on a special occasion, those little details really matter. That said, I do want to mention that the **service itself was good**. Unfortunately, though, good service alone wasn't enough to make the overall experience memorable for the right reasons.

After speaking with the owner, he explained that he didn't want us to feel rushed, so he was able to accommodate us at a later seating that day. I really appreciated that! I would definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time, though, because there are only eight seats available at the counter. The market itself is in such a cute area and has so much to check out, including teas, popcorn, a brewery, and more. Once we sat down at the sushi counter, the atmosphere almost made you feel like you had been transported to Japan. I ordered the five-piece sashimi, and the fish was incredibly fresh and delicate. Each piece was paired with different sauces and flavors that made every bite unique. It was unlike any sashimi I've had before, and you could really tell how much thought and care went into each piece. Between the atmosphere, the hospitality, and the quality of the fish, this was such a memorable experience. I would absolutely come back--just with a reservation next time!

I dont know that i have ever felt that way at all restaurant. We sat in front of Daniel who was very focused on the couple next to us,who are apparently regulars. I believe its great to recognize your regulars and pay extra attention to them. but there are other patrons in your restaurant, Find a way to focus on them and bring them in. There was an another couple who sat next to us that were almost never acknowledged. We weren't greeted when arrived by Daniel. He was very engaged to the couple next to us. Unfortunately, it didn't get any better after that. At the very end of our dinner after we paid, Daniel gave us additional food. Thank you, but no thank you. I am saddened because i love the restaurant and their food. it's a very different experience when Austin is not here....

The overall atmosphere was quaint but inviting. The restaurant has these really cool fixtures over the tables that add almost a brutalist feel to it, but for the most part, it is a pretty traditional restaurant layout. There is ample seating, and there is also ample parking in the plaza where this restaurant is located. As for the dining experience (food) itself, I kept it light with my order. I ordered the avocado roll and paired it with some miso soup. Both of which I enjoyed IMMENSLY. I am looking forward to going back to try more of their menu and venture into their speciality rolls. The pricing is GREAT. For my first experience, I was quite pleased.

We enjoyed the Mexican roll and the sweet potato roll. Both were delicious. I also got the Takusu Ramen as I had a little tickle in my throat, and it was perfect. Our server was excellent, and she was very attentive, and when we sat there afterwards for quite a few minutes just chatting we never felt rushed or pressure to leave.

The booth we sat in had a beautiful and asymmetrical heavy wooden table top polished to a brilliant shine, and there were a surprising number of diners there at noonish, on a Tuesday... what's that tell you? Now: the food! *First, for the technically challenged, be warned that the menu is available via phone and QR Code. If you want a printed menu, too bad. Otherwise... We began our meal with Agedashi Tofu, which is fried cubes of tofu that have a magnificently thin layer of a crisp skin encasing melted tofu, and there's a perfect sauce to dip them in. I have been thinking about these for an hour now and can't even imagine how they are made. A delicious magic trick! Next, we had an Eel and Shrimp Tempura Roll, a Shrimp Tempura Bento Box, and two Nigiri and Sashimi lunch specials. The Tempura was light and crisp. The bento box included a spring roll, fried rice, and gyoza, all perfectly flavored. The Nigiri and Sashimi fish was served cold and absolutely fresh, and was sliced generously. The Nigiri and Sushi lunches included a California roll, 4 pieces of sushi, and six pieces of sashimi, and really was a lot of excellent food for a bargain $24. I almost forgot that we started, along with the Agedashi Tofu, with a very subtly flavored miso soup with tofu and seaweed. This was also perfection, with just a breath of ginger and perfect salt. I hope I've convinced you fans of Japanese food to try this restaurant. If you're new to Japanese food's many varieties and intricacies, or hesitant to eat raw foods, there are always cooked meat and fish dishes like Tempura or Teriyaki you can order, and then you can explore by tasting the more exotic things your friends and family order. Maybe you'll develop a taste for it! If you already have a taste for Japanese food, don't pass up an opportunity to eat a wonderful meal at Mikado, in MetroWest.

I sat at the bar since it was only myself dining but thankfully the All You Can Eat (AYCE) dinner still applies to that section. It was under $40 to receive the food in excess minus the drinks; drinks (even cocktails) were very affordable. My bartender Jonell was awesome with servicing me (I had the passionfruit flavored Tropical Long Island) and Laine was super sweet in checking in on me during my dining experience! Please ask for their service when you visit, best recommendations! For my first round, I had the Clam Soup, Aged Tofu, Harumaki, Green Mussels, and Eel & Octopus Roll; for specialty rolls I had the King Kai, Crunchy (hand), and Eel Cucumber roll. Acording to my receipt I also got a King Oyster Mushroom Tempura [roll]? While I don't remember ordering it, I do remember that was one of my favorites! Loved the clam soup and the green mussels! Second round included a favorite from staff which was the Yellowtail Jalapeno (I'm very glad to have ordered that one, spot on! Thanks Jenna!). I finally had enough and topped my wonderful meal with a fried cheesecake dessert inlcuded in the AYCE dinner. All in all, for under $50 party of 1, I wouldn't trade this experience for any tourist Florida dining experience. ^_^
