I highly recommend this little gem! The food was amazing! This is a family style dishes. The portions are big enough for 6 people or more depending on how many dishes you get. The wonton soup with chicken is a must! Super fresh and hot! The arroz chaufa with pork chefs kiss! They also have Inca cola, hot tea and other great drinks. The wantan frito with the sweet & sour sauce was delicious. Even for leftovers it was still crispy and not soggy. The pollo ti pa Kay which is a sweet & sour crispy boneless chicken dish was tender and the right amount of sauce to not give it an overwhelming taste. I recommend the Lomo Saltado, beef fried rice, egg drop or wonton soup, fried wonton strips, and chicken lo mein. I want to start by saying I had never had chifa before. I didn't know what chifa was. I still don't think I know what chifa is. I'm not sure what I ate tonight was chifa. I'm not sure what I ate tonight was food. We walked in confident. We sat down confident. We ordered confident. That was the last time I felt confidence. The General Tso's came out and I swear to God it was drowning. Like the chicken didn't want to be there either. There was so much sauce on the plate I thought they spilled something and just brought it out anyway. The lo mein tasted like it gave up. Like someone in the kitchen started making it and then emotionally checked out halfway through. Every bite was just the experience of chewing. Nothing more. Nothing less. I've had more flavor from water. I looked around the table at one point and everyone had this look on their face like they'd each individually realized it was bad but didn't want to be the first one to say it. So nobody said it. We just ate. I don't know what chifa is supposed to taste like. But I know it's not that. It can't be that. If that's chifa then chifa has to answer for its crimes. 2 out of 5. oh dear - we did not like the food The service was friendly and efficient. The place was packed and seemed popular, as the establishment was very busy. The food looked nice, but we did not like it very much at all. To be noted the portions are huge. We tried the following - - a special fried rice - which was the best dish and we enjoyed it. 8/10 - the duck special - The worst duck dish we have ever tried. The sauce was like a gravy and tasted weird. The duck was chopped pieces that incuded all the bones - so tedious to eat and frankly off putting. The sauce was rather bland and a once again a gravy consistency. The skin on the duck was soggy to boot too and not crispy. - a beef noodle dish - another rather bland dish and served with the same type of gravy sauce once again. The noodles were also rather thick, more like a spaghetti. - a crispy chicken dish - the meat was not crispy and rather soggy again served with the dreaded gravy consistency sauce. Now we like Peruvian food and we like Chinese food. I am not sure if we appreciated the Peruvian Chinese twist, but it did not work for us at all. Here are the 3 dishes we ordered. The food was pretty good! The service was Excellent! Ruben our waiter went above and beyond to make use we had everything we needed! Very attentive 5 Star service! It was my mom's birthday and my cousins invited her out for lunch. I read somewhere that this was a great restaurant. So we decided to try it. I'm glad we did. We took some photos and Ruben volunteered to take our family photos for us so I could be in the picture as well. I'm a professional photographer and to be honest. Established in 1991.

Chifa Du Kang was founded in 1991 in Lima, Peru, by the Tou family, a Chinese immigrant couple who met and married in Peru. After expanding to four locations in Lima, the family moved to the United States and opened their first restaurant in Miami, where they continue to serve their authentic Peruvian-Chinese fusion food, operated by the original founders.

Meet the Business Owner: Jingquan T.

Jingquan, also known as Mr. Tou, is the founder and owner of Chifa Du Kang. He moved to Peru at 23 and learned to cook in Lima’s Chinatown, Calle Capón. He opened his first small restaurant in 1989. Over the years, the family expanded with locations in San Borja and Miraflores. Eventually, they moved to the U.S. and opened their Miami restaurants, where they continue to cook and share their Peruvian-Chinese cultural fusion.

WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! We came with my one year old baby and a server gave us one table in the middle. Since the baby was going to be in a high chair we requested a table that was in the corner to avoid accidents. We took the new table and It was still dirty and with plates on top. After 15 minutes of no one coming to clean it up we asked if someone could clean it and the answer was "now you will have to wait". They cleaned various tables for people who came in after us and it was obvious they were doing that on purpose. It seemed we were being punished for requesting another table than the one given us when we arrived. We asked another waiter and he ignored us. If we weren't with a baby we wouldn't mind seating anywhere but they did not care and left us waiting forever and no one even apologized and we ended up leaving. It was an uncomfortable experience . The food sets you off back in time when things were more simple, I felt like I was eating childhood heartwarming meals.... I'm not even from Peru! I got 7 items in total! Here are some good tips, start with some fried soy kao's, and a soy Kai soup, then order a family size special fried rice (Depending on the size of your party), then a chijaukay chicken and chicken with tausi which are black soybeans or chicken or beef noodles. And considering how many excellent restaurants are competing for customers, getting people through your door and then giving them enough reasons to walk right back out is impressive -- just not in a good way. Save yourself the frustration. There are far too many restaurants where the menu actually tells you what you're ordering, the kitchen has what the menu advertises, and you can simply sit down and enjoy your dinner. Our first visit became our last visit -- and we didn't even make it to the first bite.

It's a hidden gem, but clearly local folks all know & a steady stream trickles in. Hubby was so happy with his meal, and mine was glorious. Now usually when I hear cantina, I honestly cringe at the idea of bland chicken, rice and the typical bean, but not here. They offer a pick up or dine in weekly meal plan for $30! And let me tell you their options are not only delicious and different, but also so big you can make two meals out of it. The meals usually come with a soup that in itself is a meal on its own. So not only do you financially win, but your taste buds will thank you. They also have delicious fruit juices and yummy empanadas. The service is always great and everyone is very friendly.
