We made the drive from Tampa to Chifa Du Kang in Doral, and it was absolutely worth it! Jose provided amazing service from start to finish--he was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. The entire staff was warm and courteous as well. The wonton soup was excellent and full of flavor. We also had the combo with the special fried rice and noodles, and both were delicious. The fried rice had great wok flavor, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. If you're in the Miami/Doral area, I highly recommend giving Chifa Du Kang a try. My first time at this quaint restaurant and it did not disappoint. Came in for a birthday, greeted us nicely and they accommodated our big party with no problem. The place is small with Asian/Peruvian decor, and throwback tv shows on screens. Our waiter was hospitable, and efficient. The food portions are BIG, perfect for sharing. Chifa Du Kang is one of my absolute go to takeout spots. It is the perfect blend of Chinese flavors and pure comfort food. I always order the fried dumplings Soy Kao Frito and you have to ask for the sweet n sour sauce for dipping. For my main dish it is chaufa de pollo every single time. So good. So flavorful. Unfortunately, my order didn't quite live up to the hype. I had the combination fried rice, and it was pretty dry. The meats (shrimp, pork, beef, and chicken) were chopped into tiny pieces, and I would've preferred larger, juicier portions instead. The serving size was generous, but the flavor just wasn't there for me. On the bright side, the chicken wings were really tasty -- nicely seasoned and still crispy even after delivery. Came here on a Sunday afternoon around 1 PM and the place was absolutely packed. We had to wait a little bit for a group of six to be sat. Parties of six or more require an 18% service charge automatically. The food was delicious and the service was very fast. Excellent for groups/families! Everything is served family style, including the soups. The rice platters are perfectly prepared, filled with flavor, and ample for sharing. The sweet and sour chicken is a unique specialty bursting with color and flavor. The wontons in the soup are tender and delicious. If I could give this place 10 stars I would! This is one of the best Peruvian restaurants we've had. Being in Miami and not having Chinese food, this satisfies the itch! The dumplings were made to perfection and filled with flavor m, the orange chicken was crispy and the sauce was delicious and the special rice is truly special m, so much flavor and so much goodness in every bite. We noticed this restaurant coming up in Miramar and looked to see if they had other locations. We found this location in Doral and thought it would be a good idea to try it since they are coming to an area close to our home.. the reviews were awesome so we thought this is going to be great! When we got there, there were a few people seated but not enough to say they were busy.. Our waitress was polite and friendly but I felt a bit rushed while placing our order. This restaurant does not offer cocktails but they do have wine. Please before you order, be sure to read the entire menu. We placed our order, REQUESTING appetizers first.. our appetizers came last, imagine that.. The food came out warm not hot.. to me it was almost like that had the food sitting in a chafing dish, plopped it on a dish and brought it to our table. The noodles ( "lo mein") had a weird texture and it seems as if they dumped a bottle of sauce in the noodles and sprinkled salt. The food had no flavor! The pork was like rubber and the food was not enjoyable. We took everything to go to throw it in the trash. I've had Peruvian food several times and this definitely was not it. Service was slow. I'm embarrassed to say it took me way too long to try Chifa Du Kang. As a Peruvian that loves chifa, I was pleasantly surprised when I visited the first time at the Bird Road location. When my father was in town for the day, I asked what he would like to eat and of course he said Chifa Du Kang! This location is newer than the Bird Road location and has ample seating and parking. The staff is super friendly and offered recommendations and advice. We shared a sopa wantan and a combination chaufa and tallarines! We ate a lot and had some extra! I was really excited to try this spot due to the reviews but have to say I didn't have a great experience. I ordered the Chaufa rice/Noddle combo for lunch and asked for no pork. I am not allergic, it's just a personal preference. When I got back to my office, I saw they added pork to the meal. The shrimp were also those tiny pre-cooked shrimp. The rice did not have the peruvian chaufa flavor I was expecting, it tasted like normal Chinese rice. The noodle were flavorful but nothing out of the ordinary. I can say that the portion was large enough for two people, but for $28 w/ tax I would hope so. I don't think I will return. read more
