Saw this establishment on TikTok and had to try it. First and foremost, TikTok completely sold this restaurant on customer service and ambiance. #1 complaint, our server was worst than horrible. Was not friendly, helpful or talkative. Would leave and not come back for extended periods of time. Did not seem to care about the product he was selling or the brand he was representing. Horrible service! My 2 friends and I went to celebrate a birthday and we waited forever to get our drinks. There were a few other people who were seated after us and already had their food ? How does that work ? Finally, we got our drinks after reminding our waitress several times , it took forever just to get a straw ! I had a terrible experience at this place. When we walked in there were a few tables open in the restaurant but the bar top was completely open. We asked if we could sit in the bar area for happy hour and they said yes, that's where happy hour is offered. We were sat and that's about it... 10 minutes later we were given chips and salsa and then thats it. Never had a server approach us or a manager or busser. Yet there were plenty of people working walking around at a leisurely pace. Was super excited to try happy hour bc it was a short walk from our house but we couldn't even get drinks. People looked at us and just smiled or stared off. The couple that sat down before us had drinks and everything. It was extremely disappointing. Also as an Afro latina I appear black but I was born speaking Spanish so I understood all the rude things that were being said as we left. Racism is still alive in 2024 but I thought better of an up and coming Mexican restauran. Will never eat there and I recommend my POC to not eat there as well. I visited Mariscos el Rey about 3 weeks ago and I wasn't impressed by the customer service. Our server took a really long time to get to our table as well as bringing our food. I understand that because COVID-19, the restaurant might not have all of their staff working. However, it's still important to provide a good customer service to your customers. We literally waited for about 10-15minutes, until we asked if someone could take our order the waiter approached and asked nicely who was helping and we said no one had come by, she look surprised so she took our order since they didn't even give us water or anything. Food wise, did t get our order right second person came out and gave us someone's else ride and insisted it was ours, when our order finally came it was all wrong with the wrong ingredients we had asked due to allergies. This was my first time here at Mariscos. I went there because it had good ratings. I tried twice to call but no one answers the phone. I wanted to order take out but no answer. When I got there telling the waitress I wanted to order a to go dinner. She looked at me annoyed and told someone else to help me. Then the second waitress asked what I needed. Told her I want to order a to go dinner, but this time in Spanish. She looked at me and told me to wait. Then she sent another waitress to help. I started getting annoyed now. The food was amazing! I wish I could eat here every day. We thought we could finish our dishes along with the toritos for appetizers but we both went home with leftovers. The dishes were so flavorful. If you are sensitive to spicy foods don't eat the dishes with the chili next to the photo. Hot means hot here! Classy, newly renovated dining area with comfortable, padded bench/chair seating. The food was also awesome. Tortillas were fresh. Typical Mexican breakfast items available like chorizo, nopales, frijoles, thick sliced bacon, and eggs made exactly how I wanted. Breakfast Molcajete was amazing. Even the area where located is going through a transformation that improves the comfort of their patio dining. This place is my new goto for breakfast, even if it is 15mi from home. read more

When the server took our order it took a long time to bring it out, never came back to ask for refills nor if the food was ok. When ordered a menudo it was salty, and the taquitos had a hot sauce which I never seen taquitos have sauce , no sour cream and a little bit of guacamole. We found Mariscos El Rey on yelp and thought we would try it out. It was a clean restaurant and with a really good variety of Mexican dishes. We enjoyed our choices. The margarita however was another story. It was just like sipping salty ice. I would not recommend the Margaritas. The service was just adequate and the band played so loud in the small space that we could not carry on a conversation. It was better suited for a club not a family restaurant. read more

One of the waitresses was telling other customers how annoying kids were because they don't let people eat in peace and recommended them to move to another table. Excellent Mexican seafood place. We tried the oysters, the shrimp ceviche tostada, agua chile tostada, the shrimp burrito enchilada style and a mango margarita. All were absolutely delicious. Fifteen minutes passed by and still nobody had came to ask what we wanted to drink. They attended another party of three before us and we got seated before them. Finally after not being acknowledged I got up and let them know what was going on. As soon as we got a waiter to come to our table he got defensive and told us it wasn't their fault that we were not attended because it was "packed". Another table infront of us had to get someone's attention TWICE to get silverware after already having their food for about 10 minutes or more. Another table had their food brought out all around 15 minutes apart. You guys keep replying to peoples reviews saying you're going to resolve this issue. You guys have terrible reviews from 8, 5 months ago saying the same thing and you guys haven't been able to change anything. I've been to enough restaurants in my life to know this service was awful. The owner has a couple of restaurants, he recommended that we drop in at Mariscos, even though they were suppose to close at 9pm. We arrived at 9:30pm and treated like royalty! The food was awesome shrimp diablo suited my appetite for something light and spicy. Of course, I needed a couple of their margaritas to smooth it over. Well, I said that I'd return and give this place another shot, so I did. This time, I tried out one of their cocos- it's basically a hollowed-out coconut filled with tasty seafood and chilled broth. Alongside it was served the liquid from the coconut in a glass, and the meat scraped out from within. One coconut would have been enough to share between two people, and I have to say it was an amazing experience. The ostiones preparados were just perfect, as they were the first time I came here. Big, fat, meaty oysters covered in ceviche, avocado, onion, and a tiny bit of sauce. One of the people in our party ordered a tostada, and it looked really good too. Piled high with tasty seafood, with a nice crisp tortilla underneath... dammit... now I'm hungry again... Anyhow, for mariscos, this place is as good as it gets.
