Well, I was craving Menudo and we were in east Mesa, so I convinced my family to come for lunch at this location. Only to be reminded by my kid that menudo is only on the weekend. Sooo annoying. Staffs were friendly and the decor is nice like the west Mesa location. Well tried something new, ordered birria ramen, taquitos, and chilaquiles pastor. Menu was little confusing because I thought it was extra for eggs on the birria but I guess its included. Never tried birria ramen so I was little skeptical. Well well, too my surprise, ramen birria was pretty tasty. Ramen quaily was little better than I expected, nice and chewy. Broth was tasty but definitely was not spicy. Dish also came with I guess tacos with melted cheese? Ate one and it was tasty. Eggs cooked perfect to my order. Taquitos was tasty but nothing special. Chilaquiles was tasty but pastor was little bit on the blend side but still tasty. I really like this place, can't go wrong with their food. I'm just bummed it was not the weekend. Some say music sets the mood; well it surprised me today. It was almost like the couple fighting over which radio station to listen to. When it's playing I enjoy the Rumba Rhythms and similar beats but today was all over the place. Service 3/5 I'm being a bit generous with the 3. We were greeted quickly by the hostess who seated us immediately upon entering. The Resturant was after the "lunch rush" and appeared to be at about half capacity. Dispute this our server stopped occasionally hardly breaking stride to get an order twice because he couldn't stop long enough to get the orders properly. Same for refills. Food 5/5 I really looked forward to this revisit. Last time we had table neighbors who both got this delicious concoction of Latin inspired bowl with Birria taco, meat and Roman noodles. That was top of mind for this visit and included 3 skillet fried jalapeños. The food was amazing. The Birria bowl was built around some papas fetas, Birria broth with the roman well cooked in the broth. The bowl was topped with three Birria and cheese tacos which I removed to a side plate to enjoy separately. The bowl in also accompanied by fresh diced Onions and Cilantro. Huge improvement and I will now say, they redeemed themselves. The Molletes were absolutely delicious, and freshly made -when you touch food and it's still too hot to handle. The beans tasted homemade, the chorizo was a great compliment to the beans, their pico de gallo was fresh and crisp and well seasoned, and that chipotle cream on top of the perfect melted cheese on top, a perfect mollete. My order was for delivery and you can see in my picture the care of how they plated the food. It was well balanced ratio of the ingredients. I wish this team consistency from here forward. Been on my radar to try for months, and very intrigued to see how this location would be remodeled from Rubio's which I routinely visited. Upon entering, it doesn't remotely resemble the same location! Loved the decor, and felt like this was a cute cafe to cozy up for some breakfast. We were immediately greeted by the host, and our server was very friendly as well. What we ordered: - Bacon Chicken and Waffles ($15): My boyfriend immediately remarked the chicken portion didn't align with the amount of waffles. Additionally, he was not a fan of the bacon with it. Overall, he wouldn't order again and was a little disappointed. - Hatch Chili Skillet ($17): I really enjoyed the hatch chili flavor, though I felt the dish was a little haphazardly put together. You could easily omit the lettuce, pico de gallo, and even the guacamole. Or serve in small containers, so it's not all in one skillet and served as accompaniments. Overall, really good food with a few things that kept it from being a full 5 stars. I had the steak fajitas -- the flavor and tenderness of the meat were honestly amazing. Only downside was they didn't come out sizzling like you'd expect, and the plate itself was just kind of... warm. That seemed to be a theme across the table. Not just mine, my boys' food also came out more lukewarm than hot, almost like there was a delay getting dishes out of the kitchen. Service-wise, our server was super sweet and friendly, but overall service was pretty slow. Food came out at different times instead of together, which added to that "something's off" feeling. That said, the food itself was really good: California chicken burritos (both my boys got them) -- warm, not hot, but they said the flavor was great. Maybe a little heavy on the avocado, but still good. Birria tacos, our friend loved them and the Consomé was solid. Hatch Chile Queso Fundido with corn chips was the standout. Chips were fresh and the dip had the perfect amount of spice. Definitely a must-order. Ceviche had fresh ingredients and really good flavor. So yeah, food quality is there for sure. Just wish it came out hot and a bit more consistently. If they tighten that up, this place is easily a 5-star spot. Customer service is excellent--servers actually know the menu and are genuinely happy to guide you or make suggestions. Honestly, it would be amazing if they stayed open later for late lunch or early dinner because the food deserves a nighttime crowd. How are they not open at night?! This spot is ideal for brunch, breakfast, or early lunch. They offer both breakfast options and full entrées, which is perfect for someone like me who likes breakfast but doesn't necessarily love it. It's the best of both worlds. We ordered to-go this time (and it took less than 10 minutes during the morning rush), but I cannot wait to dine inside. Here's what we tried: Café de Olla with Concha - $5.00 Hands down, the best café de olla I've had. Unfortunately, they were out of conchas that day, but I could drink this coffee every single morning. I will be back specifically to try it with the concha. Seriously. These deserve to be an appetizer no matter what you order. The Juarez sauce is unreal. They should bottle it and sell it. 3 Quesabirria Tacos Served with consommé and a side of rice and refried beans (+ $3-4) Fantastic tacos with a rich, flavorful consommé. I would come back just for a bowl of it. Now I'm dying to try their breakfast ramen. Final thoughts: Everything we ordered was excellent. My only small complaint is that adding a side of rice and beans comes out to around $7, which feels a bit steep when paired with an entrée. That said, the quality and flavor across the board more than make up for it. Please open at night. Please!!! Ok. I hate even raving about this place because I know it's already busy, but......I can see why! They 100% deserve the accolades. This is hands down the greatest hang to come to our area since...EVER! First off, everything is sparkling clean - the staff was busy polishing windows and tables when we came in Friday morning. We were greeted and seated by a very friendly hostess immediately and chose to sit on the patio, which was super clean and had a chill vibe with dance music playing over the speakers. Perfect for my boozy brunch date with my hubby!! Karolina was our WONDERFUL server and she was literally the most patient person on the planet since we told her to come back in five minutes about 37 times as we scoured Instagram and Yelp to see what we wanted to select from the vast (I do mean vast) array of authentic, fresh offerings. I had three (maybe four?) mimosas while deciding. By the way....five bucks for a mimosa is a deal and they do NOT skimp on the bubbly!! Major points for that. My hubby got some insane concoction called an Arizona Sunset. It has a sugary soda sticking out of it. It was kind of like if an eight year old invented a tequila sunrise. But it was tasty- just suuuper sweet. The chips and salsa were fantastic- the salsa was def homemade and warm but not overly spicy, just spicy enough to keep us dipping. Ok I could have drank it. It was that good. But the showstoppers are the chilaquiles! I had the trio and hubby had the molcajete which we both agreed was the most unique and addictive although hear this- ALL of the sauces were freaking amazing. The fresh cilantro, onion, jalapeño and queso Fresca topped off our birria and carnita chilaquiles perfectly. They do meat right! It was so tender and juicy. Just ridiculous. The refried beans were delectable- I'm A bean snob and these were lovely. Creamy, a subtle hint of savory pork flavor, just perfect. We go to Puerto Vallarta frequently and these chilaquiles are on par with the ones we get on vacation. Now we can get them and save the plane fare!!! I ordered a side of the hatch chile and, not gonna lie, haven't been able to think of much else since. I keep Thinking of all the things I can smother with it. All in all, we decided we have to come back not only to try every other thing on the menu, but also to see the people who work here. Karolina was a delight, very efficient but super friendly. We also were visited by manager Jaime who we adored and might come back just to see how he's doing! I read the reviews and tried to go one time for Sunday brunch that had an hour wait (we skipped it). We decided that the earlier we arrive, the better experience we would have. We went on a Sunday arrives around 8:45. We were seated right away. Placed our drink order, along with a basket of conchas. The food was delicious. Came here this morning early because we weren't sure if there would be a wait for a party of 5. Plenty of parking available in the shopping center lot The music and vibes hit immediately because you can smell the food as you walk up. "Gasolina" was playing and sparklers were being brought out like you're in a club for birthdays being had. Be ready for the amount of flies if you're in the outside area. By the end of our meal the manager said he was turning on mist to get rid of them when it reached invasion level lol Everyone loved the meals they got, from the chilaquiles to breakfast ramen. I asked around and everyone said how filling it was. I was the only fool to order the "big breakfast" which was just a very basic American breakfast and it was fine. I orered the carnitas chiliquiles and coffee de olla with concha. The coffee was pretty good and the concha was fresh and soft. Now the chiliquiles, The carnitas did not taste like pork carnitas, there was no crispiness to the meat, it tasted bland and had a large amount of fat. Secondly, they are not served with rice and beans, and shockingly, avacado, but, you are charged $2.00 extra for a few slices of avacado. I have never had this dish anywhere that not come with avacado (Traditional Mexican) Another thing that aggrivates the hell out of me, I was finished with my meal, my wife was still eating, empty plates on the table and the server brings the credit card machine for payment, and stood there literally holding the card reader over the table. then after I tap my card, she was quick as hell to flip it around to the tip screen and literally held it 12" from my face. Please let customers, finish their meal and let their food begin to digest, AND, clean the dishes and silverware from the table before you seek payment. I really do not like feeling rushed. There needs to be more respect for customers, we are there to enjoy a meal, not to be treated like we are in line at a fast food joint. read more

Most of the items I have tried on the menu so far have been delicious and give that real authentic Mexican food taste. Weekday mornings are a good time to go. No long wait times. I haven't been on the weekend but heard they could get busy. The restaurant is clean and well decorated and they play really good music as well. Staff have overall been friendly, there are some staff that speak limited English so language can be a barrier however they always do their best to make sure that you get your order correct and always super friendly. My husband and I arrived around 8:20 AM on a Sunday. Not too many people...yet. We were seated quickly however waited on water and placing our order for almost 10-15 minutes. I had to wave down a waitress to take our order. The food came out not too long after that though. The star of the show was the chilaquiles, both red and green and refried beans. Delicious! Chips were still crispy enough to taste. The chilis on both were great! Also got a side of the blueberry pancakes for some sweets. Amazing! Every bite was worth it. We always enjoy the food at this place but today the service was terrible. Not busy at all and took 10 mins for someone to come over and take our drink order. Then we asked for chips and salsa which never came. We had to track down another server to bring it to us. Then we sat there for 30 mins before someone brought us a check and another 15 mins to the our card and process it. I was born in Mexico and grew up eating authentic Mexican food, so I tend to be pretty aware of flavor and seasoning. The chilaquiles were very mild overall. The sauce was bland, and most of what you taste is the tortilla chips. The carne asada didn't have much flavor and honestly tasted more like steamed meat than grilled or seasoned asada. On the plus side, the regular coffee was fine, and the café de olla was really good--definitely the standout. The service was good, nothing special. I also tried the mole, which was too bitter for my taste and didn't have the balanced spicy-sweet flavor I usually expect from mole. Overall, if you're looking for something quick and convenient and aren't too focused on authenticity, this place will do the job. Patrons were boppin' their heads to the blaring music and if I closed my eyes, I would think I was at the night club. I ordered the Churro French Toast with bacon, scrambled eggs, and potatoes and my wife selected the Supreme Skillet with potatoes, bell pepper, mushrooms, onions, bacon, ham, sausage, cheddar cheese, and fried egg. Both egg entrees were returned due to mine being scrambled hard when I asked for scrambled soft and hers being fried hard when over easy was requested. They successfully corrected their errors and we enjoyed our food with our hot cups of Cafe de Olla (Mexican coffee) which is the reason we decided to return. read more

I have been here twice, because i always believe in a second chance. The lines were long, which i always see as a good sign. The food has the potential to be amazing but the first time we ate here food was cold, the second time they forgot an entire dish and it sat under the heat light for along time. I had my food easily 20 minutes before my friend got hers. As for the service both times, It felt like they were so busy my table was forgotten about, drinks took forever, even when I sat at the bar. I made a reservation at least a week or more before we had brunch. I asked for inside as I had guest who were not use to the heat. They called right before we arrived to see if we could sit outside. I said no inside is what my family would like. When we got there they had a booth that would fit 8 maybe. There were 10 of us and we are not small people. We sat outside where the misters were too much for a few of us. They turned them off and we were ok. The manager was very nice and took off some money. That was a very nice gesture. The food and drinks were very good. We had a good time. I got some slack because we drove a good distance but I really wanted to try this place. Flavor great, food temp-chilaquiles must cool very fast- I wonder if they heated the plate if that would help? Egg and steak weren't, but chips had already cooled to almost cold. Breakfast Birria solid 5 stars. Service- solid 3 stars. If I hadn't been enjoying the company of my dining mates so much, I might have been more annoyed that we had to remind the servers about two different items. One of those items was the hot chocolate- when it was brought to the table, the server noted it wasn't a full serving and they would bring more by. That didn't happen. We will be back, but I hope the service gets a bit more efficient. read more
