This review is specifically about the orthodontic services. The office itself is clean, welcoming, and very family-friendly. The staff is kind and does a great job making children feel comfortable. However, the orthodontic side has been frustrating. Orthodontic appointments are only offered on select days each month, making it very difficult to reschedule if a conflict arises. Because of the limited availability, appointments often feel overbooked and rushed. I believe expanding orthodontic clinic days would greatly improve the patient experience. The wait times can also be excessive. I've waited over an hour past my son's scheduled appointment before he was seen, particularly during after-school hours and weekends. My biggest concern came during my son's most recent orthodontic appointment. Although the orthodontist was friendly and knowledgeable, there was very little communication with me as the parent. The treatment and adjustments were explained only to my 11-year-old son, and I was not informed about what was being done, why it was being done, or what had changed before the appointment ended. I eventually had to ask the dental assistant for an explanation, and the dental assistant was very helpful in answering my questions. As a parent, I expect to be included in discussions about my child's treatment plan and any changes made during the visit. Better communication would go a long way in making parents feel informed and involved in their child's care. Overall, I think the orthodontist is skilled, and the office does a wonderful job serving families. My hope is simply that they increase orthodontic availability, reduce wait times, and improve communication with parents during appointments. read more

Children's dental has care quality! They are supportive and gentle with my kids teeth every tine. The comfort level there for me is 10 out of 10 and the staff is super friendly. My kids cried the first time but they know now what to expect and get super confident when I say we're going to the dentist. There's no fear involved. I'm giving this office 5 stars because of Jennifer. She is extremely welcoming, funny, and always makes every visit so much better. The room lights up when she's around, and she truly makes patients feel comfortable. my daughter even calls jen her bestie. If Jennifer ever left this office, I would honestly follow her wherever she goes. That being said, it's very noticeable that this office is constantly short-staffed, especially on orthodontic days. You can clearly see that the staff who are there are doing their absolute best, but they seem overwhelmed. It also doesn't feel like the same family-oriented company it used to be. I hope management recognizes how hard their team works and provides them with the support they need. We have been patients at this office since they first opened, and it makes me sad to be writing this review. For years, we've had wonderful experiences with the dentists and dental hygienists, they have always been kind, caring, and great with my children. Unfortunately, since new management took over (2026), the quality of the overall patient experience has declined significantly, particularly in the orthodontic department. Over the past year, scheduling has become increasingly frustrating. Appointments are consistently overbooked, resulting in excessive wait times that have become the norm rather than the exception. When we've raised our concerns with management, we've been told they've "outgrown" their office. While I appreciate that a growing practice comes with challenges, continuing to accept more patients than you can reasonably accommodate is a management decision. Patient care and satisfaction should come before maximizing the schedule. Families shouldn't have to plan on spending far longer than expected at every appointment because the office is consistently overbooked (I'm talking 1-1.5 hours). It's especially disappointing because the clinical staff is excellent. The dentists and hygienists deserve recognition for the care they provide, but they seem to be working within a system that no longer prioritizes the patient experience. Sadly, I had just started my daughter's orthodontic treatment here, so we're committed to finishing it over the next year. But I have already transferred my other children to a different dental office for their routine dental care because I can no longer justify the ongoing scheduling issues. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously. This practice has the potential to provide an outstanding experience again, but that will require putting patients ahead of growth and profitability. read more

I posted this initial review on a Thursday then called back on Friday since I didn't receive a call back from them. First I was told Ruby the office manager was out for lunch and that I would receive a call back after she came back. I didn't. So, I called back again and was told she had left early, but that she would be working on Saturday. Today is Saturday and I just got off the phone with them and Ruby isn't in. They said she would be in on Monday. They did provide a number for corporate on Friday when I called and after waiting on hold for that number for 10 minutes I was directed to a voicemail. I really hope this office finds a way to make this right because the dental care is good but this office/billing issue is completely unprofessional. read more

At first my daughters was really scared getting braces thinking they'd hurt, while getting them she realized it was just glue. She said the first day was pretty painful, but the pain went away on the 2nd day, overall she said the experience was really nice the dentist and people working around were very gentle and kind. read more

I came here for my child's annual checkup and cleaning. The assistant who examined my child's teeth and the X-ray assistant were both great. They were very gentle, friendly, and professional. However, when it came to the cleaning, the dental assistant (Jennifer B.) was incredibly rude. She yawned and acted like she was exhausted while cleaning my child's teeth. She was also extremely rough while brushing them. Unbelievable!!! She brushed my child's teeth as if she were scrubbing a toilet bowl, far too rough for a child. What bothered me even more was that after she finished with us, I noticed her helping other patients, and she appeared much friendlier and gentler with them. The difference in how we were treated left me wondering whether we were treated differently because we're Asian. Unacceptable! read more

They always over book with orthodontics appointments. It ends up being an hour wait in the lobby then another wait inside to see the dentist. I took my son for a follow up on Tuesday and it was close to 2 hours before the dentist came in. I will not be going back. I took my child there for a dental appointment as soon as you walk in the space to wait is very small and stuffy, the girls in the front desk are very uncaring they look so miserable like they are forced to be there , well long story short my son was seen by a dentist he was let go with an infection on his mouth and no antibiotics and when I took him back to do treatment they did the wrong side of the mouth and then gave me antibiotics once they realized they did the wrong side so his infection increased fast . They are consistently overbooked which seems to be increasing regularly and do give priority to patients are rescheduled due to their lack of staff. When asked about wait times they downplay how backlogged they are. The office does not accommodate waiting families with enough seating. Care for patients is basic and staff is unprofessional carrying on conversations about personal lives in front of patients constantly. I would not recommend. They care more about overbooking for the money than the quality of your care. read more

Love this dentist's office. We used to go to the Eagle Rock location, which is also good, but the Alhambra one is way less busy. The staff are so so friendly. They always remember my kids and are very kind to them. We were there yesterday and Claire who did the X-rays was so welcoming and put my kids right at ease. The dentist who saw them (I think it was Dr Cortez) was amazing too. Very thorough and such a positive attitude. Usually things run very smoothly and fast here. I couldn't recommend them enough. Love this Dental office. I bring all 4 of my kids here. The office staff are all friendly. Shout out to Jennifer for taking care of my son today. She was patient, kind and caring. Giving exactly what my son needed to calm down and soothe his anxiety. Jennifer and Dr. Ann were very patient with him especially with my son being "extra" as a 12 year old. And when I say extra, I mean EXTRA. Nonstop talking and moving his mouth and yelling at the doctor and assistant. I know he made their job tougher than it should be. My children have been coming to this place for about two years now. It has always been a very positive experience. The front staff is friendly, their bathrooms are clean, and they always have some sort of activity and movie to entertain the children while they wait. Having an appointment here is meaningless. They overbook, so you'll wait at least an hour regardless. There is no screen with the queue so people skip you and don't know when you're going to get called. Stephanie, our Dental Assistant was amazing and so thourough in explaining the dental care and treatment that my son needs and the next steps for us. All the employees parked in the parking lot getting their cars cleaned. Patients couldn't even move because staff are parking illegally. How are we suppose to park if the staff are parking getting their cars washing in the lot that is for patients. This is go ghetto and very unprofessional. When I went in and asked who car it was the front desk lady said it was an employee's. We had to parked down the street because the parking lot was full of staff cars getting washed. I've been coming here since my daughter was 10 months old and she recently turned 3. They are very kind and patient here. Today when we came in they had crafts in the waiting room for the kids to make before they go into their appointments. I thought that was so cool and helpful to take the edge off for the kids that are nervous. They are supportive and take the time to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Both my kids have been coming here since they starts growing teeth (now 4yo and 2yo) and the staff including hygienist and dentist have always been amazing to our kids! Thankfully the boys teeth are in excellent condition so we don't have to worry about cavities and such. When you enter the office the front desk greet you, the office has an under the water theme so there's some fish and bubble decor. They now have games the kids can play and they also have movies playing in the waiting room. The restroom is always clean lol The dental area is a huge open space with lots of seats next to each other facing the streets. (I love this concept!) Each chair has its own television and of course more sea themed paintings. At the end of the visit they have an area where the kids can pick out their toys! The dentist and hygienist are always really patient here and they don't force the kids to do anything they're uncomfortable with which I appreciate bc as a young girl my dentist was not so kind and honestly really traumatized me, as an adult I still get nervous and anxious seeing my own dentist lol read more

Multiple issues with this place. Billing error from Dental Fun Zone Alhambra hasn't been corrected despite several attempts to follow up and I also can't get ahold of the Treatment Coordinator Giselle to issue my refund. I overpaid a significant amount of money since this place doesn't wait for insurance to pay first then bill the customer for what they owe (the correct way and what I always see at other dental offices). It's really unprofessional. When I call back to speak with Giselle to resolve Dental Fun Zone's error and my refund status, I'm told a variety of excuses, including that Giselle isn't in the office today and she'll call me back tomorrow (she doesn't), she's on her break and she'll call me back after that, and she's left for the day. I've called on various days of business Mon-Sat. This place just wants to bill the heck out of your insurance (including for services you didn't receive). They hope you don't notice or don't follow up on errors or over payment. There's no urgency in correcting anything. It's fraud. I'll most likely be contacting my insurance as well as the Dental Board. read more

The only reason I stay is while I truly appreciate the care and professionalism consistently shown by Giselle at the front desk; who treats my child with patience, kindness, and respect--my overall experience has been negatively affected by the orthodontist coordinator. During my visits, I have overheard unprofessional remarks made about her manager, which created an uncomfortable and inappropriate environment for patients and families. This behavior is concerning, particularly in a setting where children are present. Unfortunately, during my most recent visit, Giselle was not in the office, and the lack of professionalism was even more noticeable. I left feeling distressed and felt it was necessary to ask for staff names. I believe Mayra's conduct does not reflect the level of professionalism patients should expect. The first time around October I was suddenly told I owed over $140 from a previous visit. This was the first time I was hearing about it, and when I asked for an explanation, Mayra was rude and dismissive. She just told me my insurance had sent me a check which I had received almost a year prior but no one had ever explained that I would later be responsible for paying that amount back to the office. Now again, in April 2026, I brought my son in for a cleaning and was told I owe $30 from a visit back in November. Once again, this was never mentioned at the time of service. While the staff member this time wasn't rude, there was still no real explanation just an offer to print a statement. I understand insurance can adjust payments, but it's unprofessional to repeatedly fail to inform patients of their financial responsibility at the time of service, and then bring up balances months later with little to no communication. Patients deserve clear, timely billing and proper explanations, not surprises months down the line. I would recommend this office improve their billing transparency and communication with patients. read more

Good patient experience explains everything very clearly and you don't need to wait as long as other doctors office

I've been coming to this office for years now for my 2 sons. My 2 boys and I enjoyed coming into this office. However my recent experience at this location changed my perspective on how I view this office as a whole. For starters they seem to always be overbooked, so much so that there's never enough space in the waiting room I see parents waiting in their cars and outdoor. Up until recently they finally accommodated a bit by adding chairs outside, which still isn't the greatest accommodation with summer being around the corner. This past appointment they seemed to be understaffed. I was understanding about the situation my previous visit...but it's been over a year now and nothing seems to change over the way they tend to overbook patients and seem to always be understaffed. Which was never the case when the previous manager Ada. This time around there was a lot of side conversations going on between the staff about their outside lives and profanity was being used around the kids which I felt extremely uncomfortable having my kids around. Something that also really stood out to me and I couldn't help but notice was how a supervisor or higher up of some sort came up to one of the assistants and insisted in "pulling patients for treatment and ortho consultations". I'm no expert in dentistry but those words quote on quote seems to me like this place is money hungry. What's the need for having to "pull patients for treatment or ortho consultations"...unless they're trying to meet a certain quota for the month seems like. Very unprofessional, starting to make me doubt the reputation of this place and the kind of care they really provide. I was reading other reviews on here and I couldn't help to agree with the parents reviews as well. They overbook, always understaffed, money hungry, and management seems to be a joke the way they are running this facility.
