Met friends there for a birthday dinner. I will say they did have our table all set up for us and ready to go. Food came fairly quickly and was nice and hot. While my friends loved the food I was very disappointed. I ordered the taco salad. I have a dairy allergy and they did leave off the cheese and sour cream no problem. It came in a regular bowl. No taco shell like described on the menu. "All entree salads are served in a soft or crispy flour tortilla bowl with..." I chose the honey cilantro vinaigrette (only dairy free option) and it tasted very gross. It was pink and tasted like citrus. Not what I expected. "New Mex", not "Tex Mex" Well, the family was ready for Mexican style food (finally to my delight), and we decided to try this establishment. We were greeted quickly and seated at a booth per our request. Our booth was at a front window, so lighting was not an issues. It seemed that the back of the dining area lowly lit. Our server (Meckenie L) arrived and presented a very "bubbly" attitude, she did not appear to be discontented by her job. She knew the menu and made some suggestions as to what we may want to try. We read over the menu and quickly made our decisions. We started with drinks; I had a local beer, the wife ordered a margarita, and our son had a Mountain Dew. For our appetizer, we ordered the Nachos Supreme ($10) "A large bed of tortilla chips topped with chorizo. topped with melted cheese, pico de gallo, jalapeños and black olives. Served with sour cream and guacamole. We also placed our entre orders at the same time. Whenever I try a new Mexican restaurant, I ALWAYS have the Chile Rellenos, this give me the ability to compare establishments on a base line. I order the 3 piece plate with beans and rice. Overall, the were OK, mine was topped with an egg (a nice touch and flavor) and I have the combination of mild and hot sauce to top it off with. I wish they would use more cheese inside the chile. My wife only wanted a soup, so she tried the Green Chilie Stew ($7). She was not a fan of this item and ended up not eating it all. The waitress offered to correct the bill, but we declined. I am sure the stew was made to their standards, it just was not up to ours. Our son ordered the Green Chile Mac 'n' Cheese with shrimp ($14) and cavatappi pasta in a creamy green chile garlic cheese sauce. Topped with pico de gallo and crispy panko bread crumbs. My son is a Mac & Chees expert, he gave their version a 8 out of ten. The major issue that keeps this establishment from getting a better rating was that when they brought the appetizer, about 5 minutes later they brought the entrees. The restaurant was not busy, but this action made us feel compelled to leave sooner that we would have liked. The appetizer should have been brought out sooner, so as to not leave us eating chips and dip so long, and then the entrees should have been given enough time for use to enjoy the appetizer. With everything said and done, we got out of there for under $65.00 not including the tip. Not too bad for an evening meal. This was my first time here and I am super impressed. We were at Polaris and happened across this place. The dining room is much bigger than I expected. Dr. Who fans (it's bigger on the inside or if you're a Clara fan it's smaller on the outside). We were seated and our server was there pretty quickly. Jade was absolutely amazing. I ordered a lemon/lime shakeup (like the ones from the fair) and was offered non alcoholic or alcoholic. Of course I picked the alcoholic version! It was fabulous. It was so fresh and so good! The salsa was definitely fresh, you could even taste the freshness. I ordered a bowl and you can pick different options to put in the bowl. My boyfriend ordered the breakfast burrito. We were very impressed with the food and the service. Jade did an excellent job, she was so nice and had a great demeanor (which is huge given the current state of things *pandemic and people being mean to front line workers*). What a sleeper spot for a delicious lunch date or early dinner. Great food, very friendly attentive staff. Especially our server John. He's a total boss.. Now for the food. My wife ordered the chicken enchilada with ranchero sauce. She substituted the blue tortilla. Very delicious and filling. I went with the shredded beef and been burrito. I had heard so much about Chile Verde and was excited to try it. I was disappointed. The salsa was extremely watery and therefore got on the table and my clothes. I love chimichangas and was not at all happy with their rendition. The wrapper was not crisp, even though I ordered the cheese sauce on the side so it would be crisp; there was very little cheese sauce; the beef was very stringy and flavorless. On a business trip I found this place via Yelp. It is unassuming from the outside, in a strip mall, I was hoping that I didn't lead my coworkers into a horrible decision... but alas! It was amazing! We all cannot wait to come back on our next trip! It is actually super cute on the inside. Not very busy on a Monday night so the service was top notch, even if it was busy our waitress was so nice and attentive. We ordered a pitcher of Margaritas, they were great, I am picky with Margs, and if they are too sour I am out.. these were perfect. Guacamole appetizer was absolutely delicious, I think we ended up ordering two! The Albuquerque Platter - this is what heaven is made of... I love all Mexican food so I was so torn between fajitas or tacos... but I am SO glad I got this platter because it is so unique to this restaurant and it was absolutely DELICIOUS! I am 100% not ordering anything else ever from this place. The shrimp are seared perfectly and delicious. The cheese over everything was impeccable and you still get tortillas on the side to make little tacos, the tortillas BTW were SO SO GOOD, freshly made and delicious. This place has been on my radar for quite awhile and a windy warm Fall afternoon got me through the doors. New Mexican fare is on the menu here, the Green Chile is Master of the House and this meal took me back to a roadtrip many years ago thru the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Taos on motorcycle. This place is in a pretty unassuming strip center off Gemini and can only be found by entering their lot in back of their building from the Costco lot. I was seated at a nice table and took some time to overlook their menu of SW selections while I was brought a basket of chips and salsa. I started off with a cup of their Green Chile Stew, steak, carrots, taters & green chilies. While not the most photogenic it was spot on perfect spicy and something I've got to try and recreate at home this Fall. Quickly behind this came my main entrée the Bbq Grilled Chicken Fajita Burrito. A heavily seasoned tortilla stuffed with juicy marinated chicken, sautéed green peppers and onions the covered in a sweet spicy Anasazi Bbq sauce. Yeah this is a fork and knife kind of burrito full of massive flavour paired up with my choice of their house pinto beans made it one muy caliente meal. Quick friendly service for the time of day I was in here so Chile Verde truly lives up to it's name and will be my place to go to in the future for my Green Chile fix... read more

I absolutely love this place. Serving up very close to authentic NM food, Chili Verde is one of my favorite places to dine in the Polaris area. Born and raised in NM I find most Mexican restaurants not too my liking. While many can't tell the difference between the two similar cuisames, my palate certainly can. CV keeps it authentic by putting green chilies in almost every dish. They don't drown each entree in sauces, which allows the patron to taste their food. Chili relleno, green chili stew and the enchilladas are my favorite dishes. I tend to stay away from any menu item that sounds 'Midwesternized' as they are somewhat bland to me. The only drawback is that service is quite inconsistent. The servers are pleasant but the follow up to the table is irregular, something is either missing, or I've been overcharged. read more

We had a great time over the evening and wanted a good meal. So Chile Verde came to mind. We got in and seated in no time. I ordered the Bourbon margarita. We were immediately served chips and salsa. My drink came and it was delicious. We ordered the Albuquerque platter and the combo Plato. They were out of shrimp but offered any other meat to add in. My husband choose the pulled pork. My combo had one beef tamale, one chicken enchilada and one chorizo taco. I asked for the green chili sauce. OMG my combo was delicious and spicy! Chile Verde is a great little Mexican place with a lot of promise. Chile Verde is a sort of mid-level Mexican place in Columbus, somewhat squirreled away in the corner of a strip mall. The interior is quite nice and clean, though obviously made to be more family-friendly and colorful. Service is absolutely excellent and friendly, and prices are super affordable. Chile Verde has an "Uncle John's Fajita" - a low-carb fajita - that piqued my interest the second I saw it. Fajitas are already the healthier option on most Mexican menus, and a low-carb option is a super welcome addition to any menu, at least in my mind. While the fajita was good, I'll confess I found it a little underwhelming - the fajita was obviously meant to be eaten without tortillas, rice, or beans, but lacked any sort of spices to make eating it anything other than eating a large slab of grilled chicken and vegetables. I tried throwing some salsa and cheese on, but that didn't help much. The dish is a REALLY good idea that could be made 300x better with a bit more of a kick of any kind. With that said, I think Chile Verde was a solid place, and I could very much see going back. read more

After a very humid day outside both my husband and I were famished and wanted something good to eat. He hadn't ever been here and wanted to try "new restaurants" in the Columbus area. I know this restaurant isn't new but my Yelp app on my phone does not have the option to show me where all the new restaurants are that people are reviewing. So that makes it a bit difficult to introduce him to all the new restaurants. But I really wanted him to try this restaurant although I knew the spice level of the food might irritate him. He ended up ordering the barbeque quesadilla because it was highly recommended by out waiter. I really hoped that would not be spicy for him but the barbeque sauce was still spicy for his taste buds. I told him to dip it into the sour cream to cool it down for him and it made the meal so much more pleasant for him. I ended up ordering the Santa Fe chicken combination meal. It was really good, it sort of reminded me of Chipotle with the black beans, rice, tomatoes, corn and chicken. Since I love Chipotle, I finished it up pretty quickly. The prices are pretty reasonable, I just wish the menu had options to show people who are sensitive to spicy food a sign like a hot pepper for spicy or a sign of spice level. It would be very helpful I think. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for good Mexican food in the Polaris area. read more

Visited Chile Verde for some New Mexican food in Polaris for the first time today. What a fresh twist on traditional Mexican we're used to. We went on a Saturday at about 2:00pm, and the little restaurant was really busy. We were ignored for about 3 minutes at the door which was a little awkward, but once we were finally seated we were served some tortilla chips and salsa super quick which is always a plus. The two salsas they served were thick and not too spicy, and the chips were warm yet not greasy. Always a good way to start. I ordered 3 blue corn enchiladas, 2 with ground beef and 1 chicken. The ground beef was definitely spicy so trust the menu when it says an item has heat because they're not lying! The ground beef was great quality though, not wet and flavorless like most enchiladas I've ordered at similar restaurants, and the more mild chicken enchilada was full of white chunks of breast meat. VERY good, and I loved the large beans served on the side. My husband ordered the Sante Fe chicken which was absolutely amazing! The tequila marinade was so flavorful and was slightly sweet but slightly spicy at the same time. Lots of large slices of white chicken breast and TONS of New Mexican rice served on the bottom of the plate. Definitely enough for two people. The rice was good and dry (how I like it), but it was probably the one item on our plates that didn't have much flavor so it was just a tad disappointing in comparison. The interior of Chile Verde was cute and trendy and very clean, and the servers we dealt with were all friendly. Our food was served very quickly and everything tasted hot and fresh, so needless to say my husband and I will DEFINITELY be going back soon to try more! read more

So I truly have to update my previous review. I don't know if they were having a bad day on my last visit who knows but they sure made up for it this visit. The salsa was so good I swear I was drinking it!! Our server was very friendly knowledgeable and pleasant. The food was absolutely top notch. I ordered the Navajo tacos aka fry bread tacos and they were divine!! This was truly a dish that could feed two. The shells were fried perfectly and thick enough to support the toppings. And NO I did not go all native and eat it with my hands LOL I wimped out and used knife and fork. You gotta try this place. read more

This time they left out the container of spicy beef for my taco salad. This has happened too many times in the past and this time broke the camel's back. Awesome! My wife and I ate here in June 2014 and had a great experience. The waiter we had was very friendly and knowledgable of the menu. We ordered a pitcher of margarita and I SWEAR it was absolutely fantastic! I'm pretty sure that the margarita influenced the conception of my future baby, whose only 9 weeks old! Again, those margaritas were exceptional ;) The food was good too, my wife ordered a chicken quesadilla and I had a burrito with beef and chicken. After our first try - the server described their sauce as "queso without the cheese" - and we've been back three times, with larger groups ( I think we had 12?) and smaller groups (3). Well, their servers are getting better and they're getting over their opening jitters. The food - The burger and fries are good, and for the life of me I can't recall what we ordered on the first trip (queso without the cheese sauce, ha).
