We almost skipped this place because it wasn't very busy -- and I'm SO glad we didn't judge by first impressions. This spot surprised us in the best way and we'll definitely be back! Atmosphere & Parking: Clean interior with friendly staff. Huge plaza parking lot -- plenty of spaces and very easy to park. Service: Service was just okay. They forgot to bring us water at the beginning, and it seemed like there was only one server handling the whole restaurant. Food & Speed: Food came out incredibly fast -- about 10-15 minutes after ordering. Every dish was flavorful with the perfect level of spice (for me). Dishes We Ordered: Stir-Fried Bullfrog with Spicy Hunan Sauce 湘辣爆炒牛蛙 - My favorite dish! Even at medium spice, it was VERY spicy but soooo satisfying. Amazing flavor. Hot & Sour Shredded Potato 酸辣土豆丝 - Super delicious, exactly the style I love. Wintermelon & Pork Ribs Soup 冬瓜排骨汤 - Strong white pepper flavor, very comforting and tasty. I loved so much and even tried to make it at home. Fried Yellow Beef 小炒黄牛肉 - Just okay. I've had better versions at Hunan Chili King and 36 Array. Stir-Fried Green Beans with Pork Mince 干煸四季豆- Also just okay, nothing too memorable. Overall:Flavorful, spicy Hunan food with fast prep and great parking. A few dishes really stood out, especially the bullfrog. Despite minor service issues, this place is definitely worth trying -- don't let the quiet crowd fool you!

Brand new restaurant in the SGV. We clean inside with friendly staff. Food was just the perfect amount of spice if you ask me. Every was prep very fast and hit our table in under 5 mins from ordering! The twice cooked pork was my favorite and the bullfrog my wife's favor. Plenty of parking in the plaza. Don't be afraid about there just being a few customers as it is brand new. There was a ton of takeout orders being picked up by Panda.

Authentic Hunan Chinese food. Great if you like spicy food. Also prices are very fair and good size portions.

Hi Everyone! I'm not an Elite Yelper but I am Elite Spicy Foodie l! Every other month, my spicy squad venture out to look for new spicy foods and we came upon this new place! The chef is from Hunan, and y'all, the Chef did not disappoint! Four of us came and ordered seven dishes because we wanted to try different flavors. We got the Stir fried lamb, spicy and sour lotus root, sweet and sour barramundi, spicy and sour fish fillet, fried chicken, braised pork belly with preserved veggies, fried crispy lettuce (it's celtuce folks). Yo all the dishes were really tasty and flavorful. However, I am going to warn you - it IS SPICY when you go Spicy. Like if you say Go Big Spicy, you will sweat. So if you want to taste your foods (and not wipe sweat at the same time), then go regular. Plenty of parking space!! Ok I must tell you this: we almost didn't go in because the place didn't have a lot of people in it. I am SO GLAD we didn't judge on first looks only. We tried it and we WILL be back!

    A very delicious Hunan restaurant in the Los Angeles Chinatown

It's sooo delicious! I think it's the best Hunan restaurant around here. It's a pity that not many people know about it. The environment is also great, and there are private rooms, which are very unique. I heard that there will be a 40% discount on October 4th.

We ended up getting a set for $168 this time, which came with 6 dishes. It's also $35 per lb for lobster, and I asked for the smallest one. Apparently, the smallest one was 4.8 lbs, which was another $168, so I'm not sure if they upsold me. Anyways, the food was fantastic and everyone enjoyed it. This is what I thought about the food we got. House Seafood Soup - Simple and clean soup. Good portion, and it was soothing to eat. Lots of squid. (4/5) Clams with Spicy Sauce - Large clams with tons of meat, and the sauce was fire. Always a good choice. (5/5) Crab with Salt & Pepper - Loved the seasoning, and the flavors were solid. (4.5/5) Thai Style Beef Stew - First time trying this, and it was good. A bit different, but the meat chunks were tasty and the overall flavors were good. (4/5) Sautéed Pea Sprouts - Nicely done vegetable dish. It's simple but refreshing with good flavors. (4/5) Fried Whole Fish - This dish was gone so fast because it was delicious. Nicely fried and not overly seasoned. (5/5) Signature Lobster - I feel like you have to get this here since it's their specialty. It's pricey, but in my opinion, it's the best and freshest lobster in town. Tons of green onions, seasoned well, fresh meat, and lots of lobster roe. (5/5) Service was good, and they didn't automatically add a mandatory tip for a large party. The total came out to around $364, which is pricey, but the food was phenomenal. Parking - Valet only, but they have street parking in front. I parked on the street since there were plenty of spots on a Wednesday, but I assume it gets busy on weekends.

Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. Atmosphere inside was hip and vibey. Overall, this is a great restaurant and I'd highly recommend others to try their dishes.

To share, my friends and I had the following: - Kurobuta Pork Soup Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao): These were tasty and juicy and I liked how the soup wasn't scalding. I do wish the texture of the dumpling wrapper was better though. - A5 Wagyu Beef Chinese Burger: One of my favorite dishes tonight. I loved the crispy bun and the flavorful and tender meat inside. - Flaky Beef Wrap: Another one of my favorite dishes of the night. It was flaky and full of meat which I liked. Among some of the best beef rolls I've had thus far. - Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles (Kurobuta Pork): These were creamy and good. I like how these weren't too salty. - Dry Pot Cauliflower: Surprised at how good one this was. Textures and flavors were good. Only downside was the pork belly which was kind of hard, but the cauliflower was good on its own. For what we got, the prices were pretty good and reasonable. My friend and I did walk-in on a Sunday night and we waited for around 15 minutes to get seated. The interior was clean and the service was attentive. My water cup was never empty. There's also lots of free parking in front and a bathroom available. Overall, I had a great experience here and would definitely come back with visitors.

I made a reservation in advance and reserved a duck since they require advanced notice. They serve the duck with the skin already sliced, instead of carving in table side like some other restaurants. It's not the best Peking duck I've had, but it definitely did the job in satisfying my craving. The house special crab…read moreand fried calamari were pretty yummy, but not very happy with how our food was handled... One of the dish we ordered was the house special sauce crab with market price of ~$26 per pound. We added the noodles for $10. Normal practice the server should come and advise on the size of our crab before making so we can choose how big the crab we want for our dish, because we're paying by pound for the dish anyway... but within 2 minutes of placing the order, a crab dish arrived... HA! Problem 1: The server originally tried to give the crab dish to the table next to us and the folks refused the dish... then the server turned around and placed the dish onto our table for us. CLEARLY they made a mistake and made the wrong dish for next table and decide to not waste food and gave it to us. We asked if that was really our dish and they said yes... what a lie! The kitchen took 2 mins to cook our dish? haha...dumb! Next table was there before us and their house special lobster noodles arrived 10-15 minutes later. First they made a mistake, then tried to lie to cover it up. No one is stupid here. We would have been ok if they were honest about it and ask if we would accept that dish with no complain here. Problem 2: The table next to us got their plates changed multiple times and NOT once did someone came to check on us about changing plates. Problem 3: Our bill came. They charged our crab as 2.5 pounds. What a joke! I'm a crab person. I know my crabs. That tiny crab is probably around 1.5 pounds - 2 pounds max. (Check out the picture to see the small crab shell and the tiny pieces of the crab legs and meat pieces on the edge of the plate). The $10 they charged for noodles was a huge portion, but that is not the same value as 1 pound of crab that they overcharged us for the dish. The house special crab was pretty tasty and we like the fried calamari. The veggie was decent and soup was pretty weak... our bill was $150 and I tipped $20 for the experience. Be grateful and work on improving your practice
