Brand new restaurant in the SGV. We clean inside with friendly staff. Food was just the perfect amount of spice if you ask me. Every was prep very fast and hit our table in under 5 mins from ordering! The twice cooked pork was my favorite and the bullfrog my wife's favor. Plenty of parking in the plaza. Don't be afraid about there just being a few customers as it is brand new. There was a ton of takeout orders being picked up by Panda.

Authentic Hunan Chinese food. Great if you like spicy food. Also prices are very fair and good size portions.

Hi Everyone! I'm not an Elite Yelper but I am Elite Spicy Foodie l! Every other month, my spicy squad venture out to look for new spicy foods and we came upon this new place! The chef is from Hunan, and y'all, the Chef did not disappoint! Four of us came and ordered seven dishes because we wanted to try different flavors. We got the Stir fried lamb, spicy and sour lotus root, sweet and sour barramundi, spicy and sour fish fillet, fried chicken, braised pork belly with preserved veggies, fried crispy lettuce (it's celtuce folks). Yo all the dishes were really tasty and flavorful. However, I am going to warn you - it IS SPICY when you go Spicy. Like if you say Go Big Spicy, you will sweat. So if you want to taste your foods (and not wipe sweat at the same time), then go regular. Plenty of parking space!! Ok I must tell you this: we almost didn't go in because the place didn't have a lot of people in it. I am SO GLAD we didn't judge on first looks only. We tried it and we WILL be back!

It's sooo delicious! I think it's the best Hunan restaurant around here. It's a pity that not many people know about it. The environment is also great, and there are private rooms, which are very unique. I heard that there will be a 40% discount on October 4th.

We ordered French style beef, house special fried chow mein, honey walnut shrimp and steamed rice. First of all, the serving portions were very generous. All came in very large plates. The beef was saucy, tender and flavorful. In other restaurants, they add mushrooms to fill the plate. Here, the plate is full of just large chunks of beef. The shrimp in the honey walnut dish were large prawns. They were moist, succulent and tender. It had a rich flavor because of the mayo. The chow mein was full of chicken, shrimp, squid and octopus. It was perfectly crispy and saucy at the same time. We ate to our heart's content and ended up taking home plenty of leftovers enough for another meal. Our total bill was a little over $108 with tip. We will definitely be back. Parking is valet only and cost is $5.

Everything was good and nothing missed the mark, except the lobster had a ridiculous amount of green onions and they skimped on the noodles. I felt that the noodles were also overcooked and lack flavor of their own. For a Chinese restaurant, there was pretty quick service. Waiters frequent the table to collect dirty dishes and refill waters

Couldn't find the spot at first in the plaza but it is located near a McDonald's. Looked big from outside but was a decent size inside with a good amount of tables and seating space. Service was really fast, got seated quick and they were fast to take our orders which was crazy at first but they were on it with service so I appreciated that. Even the food came out pretty fast. Saw that the Beef Noodle Soup was good so I had to try it, the beef broth was delicious and I love bok choy so they had me at bok choy! Beef was nicely cooked too, I liked it! Dan Dan noodles were okay and it felt like it was spicy peanut butter but still good, just not my favorite. But the pork dumplings (xiao long bao) was YUMMY. It really hit the spot when we grabbed one each and the warmth and taste was delicious. Definitely my favorite! Pork and crab dumplings were good too! Good Alley does the Kaifeng-style guantang bao (soup dumpling) with a thicker wrapper that somehow holds an almost obscene amount of rich, collagen-packed broth inside. One bite and the broth just floods your mouth. Get these first, get them hot, and don't share. The Chinese cumin lamb burger (roujiamo) is another must. The bread is a flaky, thousand-layer pancake -- so much better than the typical baked bun -- and the beef filling is well-seasoned and satisfying. It's the kind of dish that sounds simple until you actually eat it and realize how much craft goes into it. Dry-pot cauliflower, scallion oil dry noodle , and korubuta pork & shrimp wontons are also delicious. The berry sticky mochi drink was so refreshing! Service is friendly, the space is clean and modern, and the iPad ordering system actually works smoothly. Fair warning: expect a wait on weekends -- word is getting out. Come early or be patient, because it's absolutely worth it.

We visited during the dinner rush, so the wait was longer than expected. Fortunately, they have a digital waitlist system that made it easy to track our place in line, and we didn't mind the wait too much. Once seated, my husband and I were pleasantly surprised to get a spacious corner booth despite being a party of two. It was comfortable, gave us plenty of room to enjoy our meal, and, of course, allowed me to take all the food photos I wanted without feeling rushed. We ordered the beef rolls, Wagyu beef Chinese burger, Kurobuta pork and crab soup dumplings, braised beef noodle soup, and Japanese scallops. As a huge scallop fan, I expected the scallops to be my favorite dish of the night, but they ended up being a little too salty for my taste. Everything else was solid. The standout dish for me was the braised beef noodle soup. While I've had stronger versions elsewhere in the SGV, this one was still flavorful, comforting, and the dish I found myself going back to the most throughout the meal. What truly surprised me were the drinks. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos, but they ended up being one of the highlights of the evening. The menu is extensive, and I could easily see myself returning just to explore more of their drink offerings and try additional dishes. What really elevated Good Alley, for me though, is the service. Despite how busy the restaurant was, the staff remained attentive, friendly, and efficient. Our food arrived surprisingly quickly, and we never felt overlooked. Great customer service can make a good meal even better, and that's what stood out to me most about this experience. Overall, Good Alley offers a comfortable dining experience, a large menu with plenty to explore, and service that goes above and beyond. I'll definitely be back to try more of what they have to offer. :)

This time, we ordered the Shrimp with Cashew Nuts and the Beef with Chinese Broccoli. The Shrimp with Cashew Nuts was absolutely delicious, but unfortunately, the Beef with Chinese Broccoli was extremely salty. After just one bite, I honestly couldn't eat any more of it. I have always liked this restaurant and have been coming here frequently over the years. I've enjoyed their lobster several times with my family, and almost every dish I've tried here has been delicious. That's why I was especially disappointed with the Beef with Chinese Broccoli this time, as it was far too salty. Despite that, I still think this is a great place for lunch. Their lunch specials are reasonably priced, the service is always good, and the portions of rice are very generous. One thing I especially appreciate is the complimentary orange slices they serve to every customer after the meal. The oranges are always fresh and sweet, making a nice ending to lunch. One other thing I noticed during this visit was that the restroom now has a new premium hand soap. I don't remember seeing it before, and it was a nice little upgrade that added a touch of luxury hand soap to the overall experience. Overall, I still enjoy coming here and will definitely be back. Hopefully, the kitchen can be a little more careful with the seasoning next time .
