We ordered: Peking Duck / Angus Beef Mapo Tofu / Steamed Butterflied Shrimp w garlic, vermicelli / Steamed Sea Bass / Signature Sweet & Sour Pork / Sauteed Pea Shoots w garlic, etc. Very solid quality overall. Nothing was over nor undercooked. Veggies weren't bitter. I was particularly impressed with the flavor in the Mapo Tofu and dry pot mushrooms. You come for the peking duck and the tender meat and crispy skin were perfect. We also ordered milk and fruit tea drinks and those were surprisingly good for a not-boba store. Service was very good and the ambience was clean and traditional.

北京烤鴨冇得輸 仲要$138 有四人套餐 勁正 Ji Rong is definitely one of the most popular Peking duck spots in LA Their famous Peking duck has crispy skin and soft, juicy meat and it even comes with duck legs too! Next on the lunch special set: the can't-go-wrong veggie: garlic pea shoots Up next -- fish fillet with scallion oil It's hard to find fresh steamed fish here, but this one was a WIN Pork soup dumplings are included in the set too -- perfect for sharing! We also ordered some of their new signature dishes: I love the garlic shredded eel -- super unique check out their high-value lunch special set which is just $135 good for 4 people!!! Peking Duck. Need to order this in advance.

The only thing good here is the duck. The portion is a lot smaller than the last time we went. The service was weird. We were the first ones in but no one came to check on us. The place was packed when it opened at 5pm on a Saturday. The mapo tofu, which they forgot until we asked was so salty. It needed rice. We got this last and had already finished the fried rice we ordered. The shrimp fried rice was average. We also got the shrimp with garlic and butter. It had way too much garlic and the dish came with vermicelli noodles, but there were barely any. It's really loud. The service is ok. They are great at refilling your water, but they are otherwise not very trained.

Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time so they can guarantee a duck. I've come here a couple of times for dinner. There are lunch specials that look interesting. They have added more variety to their menu and prices have risen. The duck is really crispy and good. I think we've ordered 2 ducks before for a group of 10. This time around we ordered 1 for 5 people eating (7 people total) and there were plenty left. We ordered more wraps ($7 per order fyi). We got: - Braised tofu strips and ham in broth - some enjoyed this. We got this half off because of the Mother's Day deal - six fortune platter - huge variety of meat, but I feel like I rather have a smaller platter. The jellyfish was good - sweet and sour crispy pork - ordered for my dongbei sister in law, it was nice, thin, and sweet - walnut shrimp- it's good, I remember it used to be presented differently and nicely. Now it's served with honeydew?? Probably as a space filler. So random and I wasn't informed... I'm allergic... - the French-style beef was tough, textured with seasoning, and not pleasant at all to eat - beef fried rice was flavorless - pea sprouts was also tough and on the flavorless side - in the past, we had their mung bean noodles. We didn't this time around but I remember that being a hit. Overall the star is the duck and the entrees are a hit or miss, with nothing really standing out.

SO HAPPY I finally got to try this spot and peking duck! You have to call to place a reservation with one order of peking duck in it. I feel like they have a lot of seating so you can easily call last minute as well (which is what I did). The staff were very classy and attentive. It was just such a lovely experience! The peking duck too was so delicious and truly done perfectly. The crispy skin plus all the things to make it a perfect wrap! I highly recommend this spot and they really do live up their food and bragging rights for having done peking duck since 2004! The fried rice was good too but the duck was just so outstanding I didn't need other dishes. I also went alone which I would recommend bringing people, and was able to eat the entire duck haha! Compared to some places they have great prices here! $95 for the duck and two plates of the things to make the wraps. My bill was $136 ($170 w tip) including peking duck, fried rice, coke, and jasmine tea pot.

Parking lots available at the next plaza. Or street parking Come early or make a reservation cause this place can get busy with waits! We made a reservation for a large party of 13 and the staff were amazing! We had lots of kids at the table and there was also a time limit but they were really nice to not rush us and accommodate us! Food was great! We got the Peking duck, chicken, and scallops. All of them tasted great and portion size was good for the price!

Stir-Fried Hot and Spicy Cabbage ($13.98). Not spicy, but delicious.

I had a fantastic dining experience here. The signature Roasted Peking Duck was quite satisfying. The included condiments were of a noticeably more generous portion than what I have seen to be typically provided at other establishments serving this dish. The Stir-Fried Hot and Spicy Cabbage proved to a solid vegetable option - despite its name, it was not spicy (though it was oily and vinegary, which I enjoyed). If you're not craving duck, I can highly recommend the Angus Beef with Fresh Chili. The sauce of this dish struck me as a slightly spicy and somewhat less salty soy sauce. The dish does also have serving of peppercorns in it, which will be good if you're craving that "mala" sensation. Interestingly, the milk teas offered on the menu (based on the cup's labelling) appear to be from the Good Alley restaurant which is located at the same strip mall that Ji Rong is located at. In case you're wondering, there is indeed (expectedly) a markup relative to what they would appear to cost if purchased directly at Good Alley, but it was not significant from a nominal perspective (approximately $2/drink). The service was first rate - extra napkins were brought without us needing to ask for them. We were offered clean replacement plates twice during our visit. The check was not brought before I asked. I would suggest coming early if possible (as close to 5PM for dinner) - parking was still available on a Saturday at approximately 520PM, but the lot seemed alarmingly full by the time we left the restaurant. Additionally, our party of 2 was seated in a semi-enclosed area at a large 8-person table (complete with a lazy Susan) shared with 2 other parties of 2 (we were given this option in lieu of apparently waiting longer for an unshared table). This did not prove to be an issue, as both other parties were polite and pleasant to dine with.

We got the signature Peking duck dish and the mung bean noodle salad. I loved the Peking duck! It was super soft and juicy. The bread it comes with is also very chewy and soft. A perfect match! The only thing is the price is very high for not a lot of duck meat. I also think the actual duck meat itself could've had more flavor or seasoning. The duck skin was very good though. Super crispy and fatty. The mung bean noodle salad was just alright. The sauce itself is pretty bland and could've used more saltiness or something. The noodles though are very chewy and it is a nice refreshing dish to pair with the heavier Peking duck dish. Overall, I would definitely come here again, but I am curious about what their other meat dishes taste like. I saw some other tables order different things that looked amazing.

Another amazing experience with great service. Staff would continuously replace our plates. When we came, the restaurant wasn't full. Foods are so great though expensive. Parking is so hard to find even though the lot is huge. Beside the Peking duck, I love the garlicky pea plants and the summer jelly noodles. But all the other food are fantastic. Fish is too boney for me though.

Definitely lives up to the name! Ji Rong Peking Duck, as one can guess, specializes in Chinese cuisine and particularly, Peking Duck. We got the Peking Duck, fish fillet in scallion oil, garlic pea shoots and kurobota pork soup dumplings. Everything came out quickly and the servers came around often to tend to us. The Peking Duck was the star of the show with the meat being juicy/tender and the skin ever so crispy yet light texture-wise. (5/5) The fish fillet in scallion oil was refreshing and delightful! I was expecting to eat it with rice but surprisingly, no rice is needed. The taste was sufficient by itself and did not need additional carbs to dilute the savoriness. (4/5) The garlic pea shoots were pretty standard, nothing of note. (4/5) The kurobota pork soup dumplings were of high quality. The outer layer was thin, indicating meticulousness in craft. The bite was filled with plenty of soup! (5/5) The place has a Chinese family style vibe to it. Overall, I would highly recommend to anyone looking for high quality Peking Duck!

Happy New Year of the Horse lunch. It was delicious. Space so very nice and service was very good. Please come and create your own adventure.

Parking was so difficult, the plaza has both east and west parking lots connected in the back and many cars are parked in areas that can make it a tight drive! I finally found street parking and walked my way to the restaurant. Our family had to book the 7:45 pm slot as it was a busy Sunday night and it was crowded. The place was small and spacious enough that you can see the amount of tables and move but still crowded. We got the table in a semi private section and had a server wait us most of the night which we appreciate. My family ordered two ducks and unfortunately, they did not allow us to take home the duck bones as they use it to cook another dish for sale. We are used to duck houses giving us the carcasses. We had lots of food, it came in waves and we had to make room each time a dish came. They also had a menu from Alley tea and we ordered a few drinks since the soda they offer are Coke or Sprite and not any diet soda. The most memorable dishes were the garlic shrimp, cold platter, beef short rib, and duck with fixings and pancake. We asked for extra cucumbers but it costs $6 extra so we just made sure we ate what we had. Overall, I thought it was good, the duck was nice but it was very pricey. A good place for a generous offer to dinner, but not for a frequent occasion.

Came here to celebrate a friends graduation with a party of 7 of us. My first time here but I've had this place on my bucket list for a while as they are known for their Peking Duck. We got two orders of it and didn't know they came with the soup. We also ordered a couple of other dishes. The other dishes we ordered were Mapo tofu, crispy Walnut shrimp, Chengdu style spicy grilled fish, Stir fry pea sprouts, Salted egg yolk pumpkin, Braised pork belly, and French beef cubes. While the other items were delicious, they weren't life-changing or anything extraordinary. For the price paid, I would have gotten those dishes elsewhere that's way cheaper and better quality. The star of the restaurant is definitely the Peking Duck. The skin was crisp and the duck melted in my mouth. The wrapper that came with the duck was soft and not hard/very thin. Even without any sauce, it tasted delicious on its own. The waiters were all really attentive and good. It does get quite busy so better to book reservations in advance.

I was visit this restaurant last Jan 2024. Is the price still the same ? $118.75 for peking duck ?…

The price actually sounds high but in range and it's for the whole duck

I noticed you have a special lunch menu, specifically the one that serves 4-6 people for $175, would that only be available weekdays or is it available on the weekends between 11 am and 3:30? Also, would we have to make a reservation for lunch?

No reservations required. Only available lunch dine in weekdays.

Corkage is $28 as of October 2024. That's ridiculous?

No that's is very reasonable these days

    Do you take American Express?

Are buns or totillas provided with the Peking Duck? Also, what are the three types of soup used for the duck scraps?

Called the restaurant to try and make reservation for 1/21 and order peking duck. The restaurant said no reservation will be taken and no pre-order of peking duck can me made because it's chinese NYE. Can someone confirm this is true?

    Confirmed

I think you should be able to fit 12 comfortably in the private seating areas. Keep in mind that they are not rooms but partitioned off seating areas along the walls of the restaurant with one large table.

Do they have a gluten-free menu or does their menu indicate gluten-free items for this with allergies?

Did they close their online ordering, it says "Pickup will open up soon"?

They never answer their phone, how could we make reservations? Called many times, either the phone could not go through, or they do not answer. So how to make reservations!!!

Just keep calling. I had to do that because no one answered for a couple of hours.

    Can u make reservation online? 😀? 🦆?

Call is better to do reservations

How can we make reservation? I have called this numbers for many times, no one answer. Please help thanks!

    Yes you can!

How many people can eat one order of pecking duck?

Depending on appetite but it feeds about 3 to 5 people.

We came…read morearound 6:30pm on a weekday for dinner and they were pretty busy and parking lot was quite full, but luckily we didn't have to wait for a table and still found parking. They have a lot of tables inside so it is great for small and large groups. The waiters were also fast even though they were busy. We ordered their Kung Pao Chicken, Fried Tofu, Beef Noodle, Shrimp w Walnut, and Vegetable w Garlic. We decided not to get lobster since it was pricey. They took our order pretty fast and gave tea to drink. The pot of white rice is extra $1 if you order though. And their menu book doesn't have prices for some reason. Only the to-go menu has prices. Food was served in a decent amount of time, around 15 minutes. And all dishes arrived close together so we didn't have to wait long. The kung pao chicken is so good! Not spicy at all and very nice and crispy with good seasoning. It tasted delicious with some rice. The beef noodles were also delicious! It had good wok taste and was very flavorful. The tofu and shrimp were also good. None of the dishes were too salty and all were seasoned well and in pretty big portions, though I don't remember the exact price since they took the receipt away when we paid. But the meal was very worth and we had leftovers for lunch the next day. Such a yummy meal! I really enjoyed it! I am definitely coming back again!

Boston Lobster is officially my go-to location for any|all Asian lobster cravings!! Newport…read morewho?????!!! My family and I used to religiously eat lobster noodles whenever we made a trip down to SoCal. The pick of the bunch was 100% Newport Seafood- no negotiations, no contemplations. Unfortunately, the last handful of times have left me extremely disappointed and heavily annoyed. The cost and wait times do not reflect what is actually being provided and most of our food ends up being left behind because it simply isn't worth the calories. In all honestly, I've grown a phobia w/ that specific restaurant at this point because of the countless letdowns. My initial taste of Boston Lobster was about 3 years ago and I had the most enjoyable meal. Due to our LA trip coming to an end, my BD thought we should do it big with some lobster noodles- for good old time's sake. I absolutely refused to go anywhere unless we would be giving Boston Lobster a visit! Sure enough, they did not disappoint! Dinner for 3 adults and 1 toddler consisted of: *Boston House Special Lobster [no spice] + Garlic Noodles for an additional fee. Medium Size 5-6lbs minimally. *French Style Beef Cube *Sauteed Snow Pea Leaves We ate like mf'n KINGS!! Each and every dish was spectacular- even the greens! While we should have gone with the small sized lobster, I'm proud to say we went down with an honorable fight. Lmao!! The lobster was cooked to perfection- meat was sweet, succulent, and so darn tender. The garlic noodles soaked up all of the delicious lobster flavors and were not overcooked and mush. The bo luc lac was flavorful, juicy, and complimented the bed of lettuce, onions, & tomatoes so well. The snow pea leaves weren't tough and old- this truly was a simply yet magical dish. Service was on point and the staff continually came by to swap out our plates full of lobster shells. Above all, there was no wait with our initial arrival. Parking is easy given the fact that BL has a pretty big parking lot specifically for them. 5/5 stars!! We dropped over 3 bills here and it didn't even hurt. Lmao- this place is that damn good! Don't sleep on this joint, y'all. Boston Lobster is the real deal when it comes to authentic Chinese/Vietnamese cuisine. This spot should be so much more hyped than it actually is!
