Having been here twice, the service is pretty good, considering how the staff is very attentive with getting you seated, ordered, bringing the food out, and making sure you have everything you need. The price is very fair, considering the portion size. I was shocked at how colonized Hong Kong food is? What do you mean stick and eggs? This was a great history. Lesson for me. I don't know what I ordered the first time, but it was OK, but the second time, I ordered the Hainan chicken rice, and I actually like it quite a lot. It is a bit too yellow for my liking, but it's still tasted good. The ambience in here can get pretty loud, but what do you expect? It is a sitdown, fast food.

On my first attempt to try HK Macau Bistro I went around 10am, the parking lot and street parking nearby was full, and I saw a large crowd waiting at the entrance. I was too hungry to wait but I decided to come back nice and early. At my 8:30am visit I was able to be selective in their parking lot and no wait to be seated. Yay! I love the interior décor. The table had dominos underneath the glass, the dishes and utensils had lucky auspicious affirmations. I'm all for the positive vibes this early in the morning. Staff are incredibly quick and efficient. They are really on top of it. I think they really have to be in order to meet the demand of the busy crowd. I was excited for the breakfast specials since I love breakfast foods. I can eat it all day! The breakfast combos come with your choice of drink. Cold drinks are an extra $1. After looking at some photos on Yelp and some helpful Q&A with my waitress, I decided on their Breakfast Combo D. Porkchop & Egg Pineapple Bun with Dried Scallop Congee ($13.99) and I opted for the Iced Lemon Tea ($1 cold drink upgrade). What a deal!! I also added a side order of the Fried Dough Stick ($3.50) or also known as the crueler or Chinese donut since I like to have it with my congee. It wasn't needed from a portion perspective but I just like it. The food came out quickly, the congee first and then the fried dough stick and porkchop & egg pineapple bun. What a feast! The ladies at the lady next to me were so excited at my spread they asked me what I got. They thought I was really pro but it was actually just my first visit. Inside the pineapple bun there was a fried egg, porkchop, tomato, lettuce, and sauce. It was a huge sandwich. This is one of the bigger pineapple buns I see and it was well stuffed. The amount of food I ordered was enough to feed 2 people. The congee was really subtle. I didn't get the fried scallop that is in the name... I would just perceive it as a plain congee. The fried dough stick was oily and didn't taste too fresh. I probably won't order it next time. Nevertheless a still overall fabulous meal. My tea was refilled before I had the chance to ask. When I asked for the check, they knew to bring me togo containers without me having to ask too. Very smart service! I had a great meal here and I will definitely come back if I wake up early enough to come at opening.

Came here the other night around 10pm and it was still pretty packed. This is a great spot for a late night meal since they stay open until 2am. I'm a big fan of Cantonese cafe style food, so this place was right up my alley. One of my favorite dishes was the house steamed chicken. The chicken came out super tender and the ginger scallion sauce was absolutely bomb. We also ordered the braised tofu with pork which was really good, but definitely something you'll want to eat with rice. The bitter melon with beef was tasty too, a little on the salty side, but perfect when paired with rice. The salt and pepper chicken wings were another highlight. They were huge, juicy, and packed with flavor. Overall, this meal really hit the spot. Good food, generous portions, and one of the better late night options in the area. I'll definitely be back.

One of my absolute favorite dishes to get at Hong Kong cafes is baked tomato rice, and we got it with chicken this time... omg it was amazing. The sauce was rich, slightly tangy, and baked perfectly into the rice. I swear I only come here just for the baked tomato rice and getting chicken was a nice surprise because I usually would get it with the pork chops. SO GOOOOOD. The braised tofu with mushrooms and broccoli was also really solid. It's comforting and really well seasoned. Brick toast was really good too. Crispy on the outside, soft and buttery inside, exactly how it should be!!! The only thing was the pear chicken soup that was a whopping $12.99 for a smalllll bowl. It tasted delicious but the price was not worth it for how small the portion size was I really love this spot so much. Every time I come here, the quality is consistent and the customer service is so fast!!

Portions are great here. The flavors are on point. Nothing to complain about for Hong Kong Style food! There is always a wait for a table it seems. I always fo takeout, so it doesn't bother me. They've updated their takeout menu, which looks a lot cleaner and easier to navigate. My go-to order is Singapore Rice Vermicelli ($16.99), HK Macau Curry Beef Brisket ($18.99), Beef Chow Fun ($16.99), Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice ($16.99), and Water Spinach and Chili Fermented Tofu ($16.99) when it's in season. Parking continues to be very limited here since it's such a small parking lot. People often double park when picking up food.

(Tookout 02/14/26 SA @ 5:30pm): This bistro brought you the taste of Macau to the San Gabriel Valley! It was a long day touring potential investment properties throughout the San Gabriel Valley when I drove by HK Macau Bistro on my way home. Traffic stuck out from the parking lot onto the street, and I noticed a long line of people waiting outside, so I figured this had to be a good place to grab some takeout grub. I enjoyed Chinese food although it wasn't among my top choices when it came to Asian cuisine. But, after nearly an entire day in mostly Chinese communities with Chinese realtors, Chinese food for dinner seemed appropriate. Would it be a gamble to try this Macau bistro during this particular night!? PURCHASE(S) 10pc Curry Fish Balls ($10.99): The idea of fish balls always cracked me up, and yet I loved ordering them! Honestly, I couldn't tell you whether or not there was any actual fish or seafood (maybe imitation?) in these chewy squishy orbs, but the curry had a nice spiciness to it. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=QxpHjyagnt8LH5u96j4oUA Steamed Rice (INCLUDED): Fluffy, light and a decent portion size, it did the job as all rice should be included with any ordered dish or entree in my honest opinion. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=PuBbM_UfHhVrT6JbagsEIA Chinese Broccoli w/Chicken ($16.99): A good portion size and mix of fresh Chinese broccoli and bite-size succulent chicken pieces all glazed in a sesame seed soy sauce, this was hot and steaming, but slightly on the oily side, and I wished there were more leafy broccoli bits than stalks. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=bw9BMRdjQ4TdowyLyrrt4g Malacca Seafood Fried Vermicelli ($16.99): A seemingly bottomless large portion size with a bountiful amount of seafood of all kinds as if they completely emptied the ocean, from eel, haddock, octopus, scallops, shrimp, and certainly more! The vermicelli wasn't as fried as I expected (which was a good thing), and the general flavoring was a bit weak, but the amount of supple seafood more than made up for these deficiencies. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=dsH23wMlwABttIma_JkOuA SERVICE After I made my way through the crowd, I was greeted by a young host who handed me a menu, and after about fifteen minutes, I tracked him down to place my order. In all of the hustle and bustle, I ultimately waited for about 15 minutes before everything came out all securely packaged. Everything went well - thank you! PARKING (FREE): Located in an outdoor strip mall, I luckily found a spot on the street. Otherwise, they shared a sizable lot with a few other businesses, and there appeared to be ample spaces along the main drag of Las Tunas Dr. and all surrounding side streets - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A boxy main dining area https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=V2xnz1CsWPkmkIaYxUythw (there may have been more rooms in the back) packed with chairs/tables, some kitschy neon lights artwork on the walls that added some character, and an interesting bus motif and street alley feel. A decent amount of natural lighting came in through the front doors and surrounding windows while electric recessed ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs nor any background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=1ycdvR_i8vCZ1ZzpZtp2yw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Based on the crowds I saw when I first arrived, I safely made it out of HK Macau Bistro with a hefty bag of good food (it just needed more flavoring) that lasted me for a few days at reasonable prices, straightforward service, and possibly an interesting time if I decided to dine-in at least once. The menu had tons of options so you were able to find something for everyone. And, whenever possible I liked to support small local mom-&-pop-like businesses. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $50.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, although they accepted credit cards, not mine of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

    Peanut Butter French toast
    Serina L.

This is actually my second time here and I love it!! Really takes me back to cafes in Macau and Hong Kong :) Love the bright lights, decor, & designs of the table (dominos and mahjong tiles!) Got the French toast with peanut butter, an absolute classic but I wish there was condensed milk (my own preference, nothing wrong without it) I also got the club sandwich (not pictured) but it's also a classic that they did not mess up. The bread was so soft, buttery, and perfectly toasted! The chicken in there was also cooked to perfection. Last time, I got the pineapple porch chop bun The staff was also really efficient (expected nothing less).

Came for lunch on a Saturday and waited less than 5 mins to get seated. It's a big restaurant but can feel quite tight when it's busy and packed with people. Service is average. The decor is cool with signs and pictures reminding us of HK. The menu is extensive and the portions are huge. Definitely had leftovers. The toast was crispy and tasty. My beef chow fun that I requested with gravy sauce was decent. Note: All credit card transactions require a $25 minimum purchase.

    chicken steak

Open super late (2am) and perfect for a midnight or late dinner. Super cozy Hong Kong decor inside that reminds me of when I visited over the summer. A huge variety of traditional food with pictures. Chicken steak with noodles: (8/10) Generous portion with a delicious garlic dipping sauce and neutral spaghetti. two large chicken thighs perfectly seared with a side of veggies. The corn isn't the freshest. It taste like a poor quality canned corn but I can't complain since it was great value. Service was quick and I would definitely come again.

    Abalone and chicken congee
    Tiffani C.

Service is relatively quick. HK cafe style place. Breakfast combos are the best deal so come before 11am. The abalone and chicken congee is the best thing on the menu. You will not be disappointed.

Service is good. I was asking my tables if they wanted extra bowls to share and the server overheard, brought it over without me asking. However note that this is still a Chinese establishment. They are used to fast paced so good is for Chinese standards not the 5 star michelin standard. Food came out fast. It's good pricing and huge portions. It is on the greasier side but still very tasty. I started digging in already before I remember to take a picture so it doesn't show full size of food but it still looked full size in pictures

Was looking for some late night food in the area and this came up. Parking was difficult at around 930/10PM on a Wednesday. I ended up finding street parking. I did call ahead, so I just picked up the food. There was a line waiting to be seated and the inside dining area was absolutely packed. The salt and pepper combination with wings and calamari is really good. This is one of those things you should eat right away to get the crisp. The beef chow fun had a lot of flavor with the beef and the noodles it self. The hainan chicken was not my thing. The rice was dry. Had to dump some of the ginger sauce to add a little flavor. I'm guessing this is a good late night spot with most food establishments in the area closing at 9PM.

    Natalie Y.

Breakfast special is a bit weaker than the other Hong Kong cafes in the area. Bolo bao has good crust but the actual bread past lacks fluffiness and flavor. Chicken steak is average but could be more thicker. Milk tea is strong and good. Decor is very cute but the service is slow and takes a long time for food to come out. As a HK girl I think there are better other HK cafes in the area but this one is a good pick if you're also looking for the Macau flare.

The restaurant has a modern Asian-inspired interior with black brick accents, warm wood furniture, hanging pendant lights, and a striking red geometric ceiling. Every table was full, people were waiting near the entrance for seats, and the energy inside was loud and lively. These days, I'm more of a quiet-corner kind of diner. Unfortunately, I didn't find my usual quiet corner this time, but I managed to find a corner, and that was good enough. My dinner. My sisters-in-law who live in the area highly recommended this spot when we were deciding on a Sunday dinner the night before we flew out. Among the four of us, we ordered: - Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) - Biang Biang Noodles: least numbing of the noodle dishes we ordered. If you LOVE carbs and not a lot of sauce, this one's for you! - Dandan noodles: this thin noodle dish is slightly more numbing than the Biang Biang noodles, but still bearable and tasty. - Chongqing Special Noodles: most numbing of the three! I had to pause eating this a few times as it was getting a little uncomfy! The noodles are side but thinner than the Biang Biang noodles. I liked that we ordered noodle dishes each with different noodle types, flavors, and spice levels. The Biang Biang noodles were respite from the Chongqing Special Noodles, while the Dandan noodles had the right amount of peanut flavor and "mala." We arrived 45 minutes before closing on a Sunday night (it was a holiday the next day though). We were surprised that there was still a line of people wait in for seats close to closing time! Thinking we weren't going to be seated, we decided to order for takeout. We ended up being the last party to be seated! The staff was kind to transfer our takeout orders as dine-in dishes! The staff had the right amount of customer service and attentiveness for a Chinese restaurant, if you know what I mean haha. For amazing noodle dishes, comfortable seating, and accommodating service, Chong Qing Special Noodles gets a solid five star rating!

We ordered the cucumbers, chongqing special noodles and you po noodles. Cucumbers and you po were relatively flavorless. Cucumbers weren't garlicky enough, and again, minimal seasoning/sauce. We ended up dipping them a bunch. You po also relatively flavorless. The noodles seemed fresh, but were a bit overdone and almost soggy. They were enhanced by the best of what we ordered, and that was the Chong Qing noodles. Decent flavor, noodles were cooked well, and nice portion of meat and bok choy. We asked for spicy, and it wasn't that, but the sauce/soup base definitely saved the other dishes. Won't be going out of my way to come back, accordingly.

I can't speak for them, but I will say, if you order the tsukemen and find that you want more dipping broth, that will be an extra charge. Order a regular bowl of ramen if you do not plan to dip the brothless noodles into the broth for each bite. BF and I both tried the spicy tuna bowl ($7.95), chashu bowl ($8.95), and tonkotsu ramen ($15.95). The bowls are a little smaller than the ramen bowls and are a great option if you want a light meal without feeling super full. The tonkotsu ramen had a slightly rich broth that was flavorful and a decent portion of noodles. We opted not to order the ramen with the egg since we were also trying the rice bowls. The three items were more than enough for the two of us and a good variety of food. Parking here is horrible at the street level, so head downstairs for the two levels of underground parking.
