    Black Pepper Beef Short Ribs

The Chinese food was so delicious. Almost everything we ordered was a hit: the stir fried cabbage, pork belly, beef chow fun, string beans, pork buns, and the hot stone braised rice. The hot stone braised rice was my favorite; the braised sauce went so well with the rice. The beef chow fun was also cooked very well. The pork buns had a delicious soup inside. I thought the black pepper beef was fine; the sauce was good but the meat was okay. The chicken soup dumplings were also kind of weird--we only got them because they were out of everything but that and Wagyu beef. We walked in Saturday evening ~9 PM and were seated immediately for a group of five. The location is very convenient too. You order through an iPad that has a well-designed menu.

Food here is solid, especially considering the general quality of Chinese food in Manhattan. We started with the wagyu beef soup dumplings, which were tasty. The pork and shrimp pan-fried dumplings were also a good choice. For the main, we had the half Peking duck. The portion is on the smaller side compared to other spots, but the presentation was thoughtful. The pancakes came individually separated by baking paper and had a great "Q" texture, a bit of the nice chewiness. The sauce is good, and they serve it with sliced cantaloupe alongside the usual cucumber and scallions, which actually makes for a really great wrap. The Shanghai fried noodles with chicken were a highlight. They had authentic wok chi (鑊氣), which is hard to find and made the dish feel very genuine. Dessert was a bit of a letdown. We ordered the mango pomelo sago, but the mango tasted canned rather than fresh. It came with very small amount of the sago; they definitely need to add more. On the drinks side, the happy hour is a great deal with plenty of $10 options. I got a glass of prosecco. I also tried their signature Blue Blossom cocktail. It is cool concept, but the flavors didn't really mesh well and it wasn't that impressive. The bartender is really cool and friendly, which added to the vibe. Good spot for a casual meal or happy hour if you are around.

Beautiful Chinese restaurant known for its Peking Duck. First impression upon walking in is that this place is very classy. Also noticed that nearly every table had been served the Peking Duck. So of course we took the hint and ordered a Half Size portion of Peking Duck to share with my wife. Only mistake was not going with the full order. The duck was very nicely prepared and presented, nothing like how they do it in China. So for me, I loved it. Just take the tortilla wrap, add a few slices of meat, a veggie and the sauce and eat. Fabulous. We also shared an order of pork soup dumplings which were also top shelf (note we eat pork soup dumplings monthly, so these were good). Draft beer was also nice, the brand was new to me. Service was nice and I'd also mention that it was nice a quiet in the dining room, which is a pleasant surprise. Definitely recommend. This was my first time here, my wife's second and we will return.

First time dining at a modern Chinese restaurant and it was a very nice experience. Blue Blossom has a contemporary, elegant, and upscale decor. Their blue-white porcelain table settings and dishware complement the beauty that captivates every patron upon entering the establishment. The hospitality was stellar. It started with our menu being presented on an electronic tablet. Items were accompanied with crystal clear photos, it was easy to navigate, and all of our questions were answered in appreciated detail. The presentation of the food was award winning and every item was delicious, large enough to satisfy, and even the dipping sauces were presented in an ornate fashion. We ordered the following: Steamed Vegetable Dumplings. They were artistically created/presented and the dipping sauces (soy, sweet, spicy) elevated the taste exquisitely. The other selection was the Wagyu Beef Xiao Long Bao. These Shanghai-style soup dumplings were wrapped in colorful/delicate wrappers and were scrumptious. The beef was tender, the juices inside fully enveloped every inch of each dumpling and both items are highly recommended. To cap this meal, we shared the Mango Pomelo Sago. This is a popular, refreshing Hong Kong-style dessert soup made with mango, pomelo, and sago pearls, blended with a creamy base of coconut and evaporated milk. Each spoonful was mouth-watering and the different textures made this an extraordinary delicacy.

Absolutely loved my experience at Blue Blossom. The menu was a blend of chinese fusion with a creative touch, and every dish we tried was delicious. The crab + pork xiao long bao and the cumin lamb were 10/10, highly recommend. We also ordered the stir-fried string beans, dan dan noodles, roasted Peking duck, and the pork belly appetizer. Pork belly was good but not quite as memorable as the other dishes. The service was warm, attentive, and thoughtful throughout. Perfect for dinner w friends or a date. Also, my phone was dying and they were kind enough to let me charge it. I really appreciated that :3

Ambiance, nice. Service, nice but kind of slow to get the food. Bathrooms, nice. Flavor of food, alright. Temperature of food, lukewarm to cold. All of it! We did have one dish that was hot. It was manageable but I couldn't believe the peking duck wasn't even warm. That one was just cold. It also seemed old, like they cooked it a while ago because it was dry. We told the waiter it wasn't hot and he took the duck away and came back in less than 5 minutes with a warmer duck. It still wasn't hot. Ah well. The hoisin sauce was very salty. The soup dumplings, tasty, were also not hot. I've never had a soup dumpling where the basket wasn't steaming hot when it came out. I still can't get over how a Chinese restaurant didn't serve us hot food. It wasn't very crowded when we were there so not sure what was the issue. Maybe we were forgotten. Maybe their heater lamps broke. Anyhoo, come here if you're not nit-picky about food and want pretty good tasting Chinese food with a nice ambiance. It would make a nice date spot.

Came here for dinner without a reservation on a Tuesday night and got a table without a problem. The restaurant was spacious and welcoming and we were greeted with a friendly hostess as soon as we walked in. We ordered various dishes to share including their pork XLB, steamed veggie dumplings, hot and sour soup, stir fried string beans, duck fried rice, salted baked chicken and beef brisket stew with puff pastry and wine sauce. Their XLB was excellent. Just the right size, not too big and not too small, juicy, flavorful, and the skin was delicate yet durable with a QQ texture. It was so good we had to order another one. I also really liked their veggie dumplings. Their dumpling skin was just as good as the XLB and it's packed with flavor even though it was just veggies. I also enjoined their hot and sour soup. When I order hot and sour soup from different restaurants, it's never sour enough for me and I would always have to request vinegar on the side. I was surprised the flavors of the soup here were well balanced and I did not have to add additional vinegar to it. Their duck fried rice was also one of our favorite. It came out pipping hot with a lot of "wok Hei". It was flavorful yet not too salty and also had a lot of meat inside. The salted baked chicken was good but I can't say I was completely impressed with it. The presentation was a little gimmicky and I was told it's not moutai wine inside the bottle and it was just for show. Aside from that, I found the chicken to be a little too salty to my liking but the ginger and scallion sauce was very fragrant and helped neutralize the saltiness of the chicken. The meat however, was very juice and tender. The stir fried string beans, I found it a little bland and some of the strings were still attached which made it hard to chew. The beef stew, while we liked the puff pastry and the beef was tender, there were no red wine taste at all. It was literally just a tomato beef stew and I found it to be a little too sour. Our server was very friendly and attentive. They also have happy food from 5-7pm on weekdays so they have a limited drink menu for $10 during that time. Overall, we had a great time dining at blue blossom. Although some of the dishes were a miss for me, I think their dumplings are very solid. I also saw a lot of people ordering their Peking duck so I would want to return to try that out. One of the best indicator is that by the time we were done with our meal, the restaurant was pretty much packed on a week night and they were mostly Asians which indicates the food is authentic and good.

This place is so underrated. It's a good thing because finding a table here is never a problem. We came here several times and tried most of their dishes and they all have been excellent. The restaurant very spacious, good service and close to Q train.

My friends and I made a reservation ahead of time for dinner. We arrived early, and the hostess was very accommodating. First, the interior was beautiful. There was a beautiful bar by the entrance, there were beautiful lanterns hanging from the ceiling, and the seating inside was very open and spacious. At the end of the restaurant, you could even see the soup dumplings being made. Second, two out of the three cocktails we got were delicious. The peach blossom glaze and the jade green cocktails were excellent; the velvet white one was too bitter for me. Finally, the food itself was incredible. We ordered the soup dumplings, salted and baked chicken, and the stone pot braised rice. (Side note: I loved that the menu had pictures for many of the dishes.) We were so full by the end of dinner! I would definitely come again to try more.

Came here for a work dinner and got to try a bunch of different things. We had the soup dumpling platter, where I got to try the truffle pork dumpling. While it was good, I didn't pick up any of the truffle flavor, so I would probably skip getting this and opt for the regular or regular + crab as both were delicious. However, I will say at this price point, there are definitely better options out there. I also tried the peking duck which super delicious and fantastic. They didn't give enough wrappers, but they gave us more when we asked which was nice. We also tried the cumin lamb which was the perfect amount of heat. The garlic string beans had a great flavor and would definitely recommend getting. Finally we tried the fish filet stew. The fish was tender and delicious with a subtle amount of heat. The service here was mixed. Sometimes they were so on point with refilling our tea and waters, and then at other time we were frantically trying to flag down a server. Overall nothing bad though. Would come here again for a special occasion!

The beef soup is clear and light and the noodles have a delightful texture, with a slight chew and good bounce. There's a good portion of braised beef as well. Tender but a bit fatty for my taste, but given the portion it's not going to kill you. Lamb burger ended up as overkill and will be consumed as leftovers but a quick sampling let me know that it's gamey and fatty with strong notes of cumin. Not a bad thing, but something to note for people that might not generally enjoy lamb or cumin. Black pepper beef rice bowl was solid too. Spice wise, you can calibrate accordingly but I'd recommended at least their regular spice level. Decent amount of tenderized but still chewy beef. Both dishes came with a salad of celery, carrot, cucumber, peanuts and seaweed strips in a light sauce. Couldn't quite figure out the sauce but it was lightly tart and refreshing. Space is clean and modern. Neutral wood, well lit. Service is friendly enough. If you dine in, you order at the kiosk and they'll deliver to your table. The Ahi Tuna was the perfect and proper color it should be. The flavors were SPECTACULAR-WONDERFUL!!! I was too full from my spectacular Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl to try the Korean bbq Chicken Wings ($8.95) but, I will definitely be back to try them!! I'll post menu photos so you have an idea of the delicious food choices. (April 2026) My very first delicious bite of Ahi Tuna had a heavenly garlic flavor, it was wonderful, and the sweet green seaweed with rice only added to the wonderfulness. Vertical slices of cucumber, onion and scallion, also add deliciously to my wonderful Poke Bowl. Toasted sesame seeds, too. SIMPLY MARVELOUS!!! Remember to be sure to mix the poke bowl rice as you eat, so that you mix the rice with the yummy sauce that may accumulate at the bottom of the poke bowl. I usually eat a little while, THEN, mix the rice. This was so good, I had to eat, eat, eat, before I could stop to mix. LOL. That sweet green seaweed was so yummy!! A lovely mix of flavors...the garlic, the sweetness....I LOVED IT ALL SO MUCH!!!! When was the last time you enjoyed a dish so very much that you felt like standing up in the restaurant and telling everyone: THIS IS SOOO DELICIOUS!!!! Well, I felt like that, but I didn't stand up and tell everyone, but I did tell the manager, who happen to come to the table to ask how everything was. And I let him know how much I was enjoying the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl. He explained why and how the tuna was so flavorful. We had a delightful brief foodie chat. What a joy!! The service is very nice here. I like the atmosphere too. And the music, which is cool; it does not interfere with thinking, or having a conversation. I really like it here . The women's rest room was very nice, and clean, with a Dyson Hand Dryer, so no paper towels on the floor. Yay! Helping our environment, too!! And I like the black and white wall paper, too. See my photos My last visit I enjoyed the Pad Thai, and the same non-alcoholic beverage, " Asian Mint Limeade", from the MINDFUL DRINKS area on the beverage menu. ($9.50) (April 2026). A nice treat! It does have a light carbonation (bubbles). This visit my delicious meal was from the BOWLS SECTION of the food menu, it was the AHI TUNA POKE BOWL ($17.95) (April 2026) With warm, and hot weather on the way, I know I will be enjoying this AHI TUNA POKE BOWL again...and again! I remembered i liked my experience going to one in London in 2024 and decided to go. I love how attentive the wait staff are, a little too attentive. A waitress, she had long hair and a nose ring, approached me when I was just glancing her way during eating. I didn't need anything, but I appreciate the favor. That same waitress gave me my receipt too early like she wanted me to leave ASAP. This was right before I asked to look at the desserts after I finished my meal. A "Would you like some dessert?" would have be appreciated. Cedrick, my principal waiter, was phenomenal. He decided to take care of me after no one was at the hosting desk for 5 minutes after I arrived. I had the chicken potsticker ramen and it was delicious! The potsticker was seasoned very well: my favorite part. To drink, I had the Asian Arnold Palmer and it was a cute drink! Only downside is the sweetness was not even distributed through the drink, even after I mixed the drink. Even though I had an issue with the service, I saw how caring they were (he looked like a manager now) to a family that came after me with organizing their seats and getting a baby chair. I just wished they gave me the same respect instead of rushing me out the door.

Of course they had classic shio and miso ramens, but they also had a duck tsukumen, a red snapper ramen, a black truffle ramen, and the dish I set my sights on-- the uni mazemen. There were also lots of appetizers and a long list of high end onigiri featuring proteins like scallop lemon shio, A5 wagyu ponzu, and bluefin chutoro on offer. This place was the real deal. Our group shared the tebasaki wings-- so crispy and so flavorful, I could have inhaled a whole plate of these. The salmon, ikura, and apple appetizer that was served in a glass chalice was superb but even better was the bluefin tuna avocado sashimi with wasabi. That one was a winner across the board. And then my uni mazemen, which really stole the show. There was a very generous portion of uni that mixed with the savory sauce and al dente ramen noodles perfectly. This dish was rich, unctuous, and fresh and definitely delivered in value, though it was double the price of most other noodle bowls. Uni is a delicacy. Having just returned from a second trip to Japan I can say this place is really as good as any restaurant I visited in Japan, and it's right here in Murray Hill. These Murray Hill bros are lucky.
